How To Interact With Things

This guide is to help anyone who was like me, and could not figure out how to interact with anything in the game.
The game wants you to hold the Left Mouse Button, and drag it to interact with things. Though that seems simple, it's actually misleading because the arrow they draw on each item doesn't point to the direction you need to drag the mouse. I feel silly for not realizing this until 30 minutes in, but you need to drag the mouse to the action you want to do. Such as; Read, look, take picture, etc.

I can't even reach the photo by arrow mouse pointer. Just it's move is limited.

I have no XBox. What should I do?
(don't tell me that I have to buy XBox for this game)

I made the same mistake, trying to follow the arrow and not being able to reach the object it was pointing to. I was blowing a gasket for five minutes or so before it dawned on me what the game requires. : ^ )

@sorceress supreme Maybe your laptop isn't meant to play games, you can buy a usb mouse for 5$ or less

it doesn't work when i do that. like, it'll hover over the picture whenever i need to click it but the cursor won't move any closer to the item i need to click. it's just stuck there.

You just push in the trackpad, slide towards the action, and release

Anyway I can do this with a trackpad on my laptop?

I had the same mistake but saw what I was doing after about 1 minute.
