Multiplayer (Portforward + other)
By Patrick .V
This will help you to get your "Multiplayer server" to get in work.

In this guide you will learn how to "portforward your router" and how players(friends) are able to join you ingame.
But patience young konobi, portfarwarding is easy, but not the first time.

How to portforward your router for SNOW multiplayer.
Hello guys, this is my first guide and English is not my main language so there will proably be things that are spelt wrong, but bare with me! I hope this helps you, and good luck portforwarding your router!

  • First - Find out what kind of "Router" you have. For an example I have " "Asus RT-N66U" [blog.pricerunner.dk]

  • Second - The IP adress, you can simple do that by searching google " Whats my ip"
Then copy your ip and paste it to your browser and then hit enter. Now you will need to login into your network map.

Now for those who have never done this before the "username" & "password" will proably be "Admin" "Admin", "admin" "admin or " User" "User", "user" "user".

If you dont know your "username" & "password" you'll have two choices, either you can contact your ISP ( Company of your internett ) and ask for the username and password.
Or you can simply reset your router to factory settings, and your "username" & "password" should be one of them above. You reset your router by pressing the reset button on the router..

  • Third - Once you've logged in to your network map you're ready to start the portforward.
Now, i would use the website " Portforward [portforward.com] to find "my"(your) router.
This site has everything you need to know about portforwarding your router.

Here is what it looks for me, on mine router " Asus RT-N66U ".

NB! If you have a router that came with the internett then IT WILL NOT LOOK LIKE THIS!

  • Ok, so now you would need the PORTS you want to open.
You'll have the choice of " TCP & UDP & Both" make one for each
    for example;
    Service Name
    Port Range
    Local IP
    Local Port
    Protocol
    SNOW
    64087
    192.***.*.82
    64087
    TCP
    SNOW2
    64087
    192.***.*.82
    64087
    UDP

  • Theese are the ports you will need to use!
  • 64087
  • 29910
  • 27900
  • 27901
  • 6667
  • 28910
[/b]

  • Here is a picture of how it looks like.
  • [/list]

Now if you made it to this step you've done good!

That means your ports should be open, but just to be sure i would download the "portforward PFConfig" its a program wich allows your to "Automatically" open ports or check if the ports are open.
    "Program in action"

Snow is a game of sickness, i personally love the game and its still just an aplha release..
Now dont get your hopes too high here, cause this game is very buggy on multiplayer..

People have massive lagg, bugging trough snow, black screens, game crash ect ect..

The host wont have any problems, but your friends will.
Ive never tried this game on "lan" server, might be better using "hamachi" or just wait till the game is better built for multiplayer.

    • Now this is how you make a game after you've opened your ports.

    • Start game => Make sure the game loads corectly(Snow have some issues at start like " pictures missing at main menu" if so just restart game) => Press " Together" => Host game => Invite your friends => Then press LEFT CTRL to start the server.

    • Your server should be ok and players should be joining in.
But to be sure everthing went OK do this.

After loading map, choose your spawn location and then press "V" to "pause time" . Note; This should not work on multiplayer, if it does something went wrong hosting your server.

Wich means, if it does work after you've invited your friends to your lobby and started the game, then it didnt work.

Wich means (again) you've done something wrong with port forwarding.

I hope you've learned something during this guide about porting.
If you have any questions please ask, and ill answer as good as i can!

As i said earlier, english is not my main language but i hope you understood enough to get you started!

Thank you, and good luck! :)

Thx Klages for that reply, cause as i said guys i havnt played the game for awhile and this is an old guide... I wish you good luck getting up your servers!

there is a dedicated server in the steam db, but you have to download it with steamcmd: https://steamdb.info/app/328950/
after downloading, when you started your dedicated server type in "map sialia" then "sv_gamerules = multiplayer" and "sv_lanonly = 0"
the server should now be ready.
i tried it before the big update and the server wasn`t reachable from outside of the local network - even the ports where forwarded.
get in touch with me if you get it working :)

Hello Samurai Weeaboo, im sorry but i created this back in januray 5th of 2015...
Game has changed alot in this year, i dont know if SNOW support dedicated servers anymore.
Try contacting Dev's and ask, or they might have dedicated server TOOL in steam, i dont know for sure. If not, this guide is pretty useless, unless you want to know how to portforward, but who knows, maybe they will add dedicated servers later.

Hello. I know how to portforwars and there is no problem with that. The problem is, that it gives me only the option to browse servers, and not to create my own / join friends game. Do I have a wrong version of the game? Please help and thank you in advance.
