If the game is taking a very long time to load (stuck on the small "Assassin's Creed Odyssey" image for several minutes), consider turning off hyperthreading in your BIOS to shorten the load time.

Turn off Hyperthreading in BIOS
Posting this as a guide in case it helps others. Credit to the people below. Don't forget to turn hyperthreading back on when you're done playing Odyssey!
