Talisman Guide

This guide will help you find the three Talismans to unlock the "Berserk Reborn" achievement.

Introduction

The three Talismans—Red, Green and Blue—are a new addition to the Veteran Edition of Strife. Collecting all three throughout the game net you the achievement, Berserk Reborn. Getting them is not straightforward, however. I created this guide to help you find all three talismans and get the achievement.

Part 1: Blue Talisman

The Blue Talisman is located in The Temple of the Oracle, in the green room leading to the Oracle.

1. The Temple of the Oracle (map 12)

Walk past the praying servants and open the door at the end to find the Oracle.








After talking to the Oracle for the very first time, the bars barring your way to the Blue Talisman have now been raised up.







Head back to the previous room, and claim your prize.

Part 2: Green Talisman

The Green Talisman lies in the level Catacomb: Ruined Temple, but is behind a secret behind a secret. If you followed my Complete Secrets Guide, you'll know about the secret to the north-west of the Ruined Temple.

1. Catacombs: Ruined Temple (map 25)

Navigate to the north area of the map to a fountain, and you'll see alcoves in the walls. Face west and choose the third alcove. Push it and a secret corridor is revealed.






Walk through it to a small courtyard with four pillars. Look to the your left, and you'll see one of the pillars has been destroyed.







Press use on it to lower two walls, one to the south, revealing a teleporter, and one to the west, revealing the Green Talisman.

Part 3: Red Talisman

The Red Talisman requires a few extra steps in comparison to the other two.

1. Order Commons (map 23)

In the Order Commons, find the NPC Timothy next to warehouse near the docks, he'll be standing next to a table with a mug, two bottles and a candle.







Ask him what he's doing and he'll tell you to go away. Bother him once more, and he'll tell you about a Blue Chalice (not the Blue Talisman nor the Offering Chalice), located in Factory: Manufacturing.

Head on out to Factory: Manufacturing.

2. Factory: Manufacturing (map 21)

At the south west side of the map, there are two lifts near some water and the exit towards the Proving Grounds, take the left-most (southern) lift up to a balcony area. You'll see a red laser on the ground. Jump over it (or it'll spawn a lot of enemies) to an area with a lot of goodies.




Take the stairs up and you'll find the Blue Offering Chalice.

Head back to Timothy at the Order Commons.

3. Order Commons (map 23)

Talk to Timothy, and let him have the Blue Offering Chalice. He'll give you an item called "the info" and will let you know about a secret area located in the Factory, accessible through the Forge. This is the new map added in Veteran Edition.

Head to the Factory: Forge.

4. Factory: Forge (map 22)

Towards the north, there's an building with windows outlooking the western side of the map. Enter inside. Walk past the pool of water, take either of the stairwells up and talk to Master Smithy.

Say you are on "official business". You need "the info" from Timothy for Smithy to talk to you, otherwise he'll just tell you to go away.


He'll go on a tirade about the backstory of the game, it's a cool read. After he's done talking, he'll open the door to the Factory: Production, which is accessible from the north-western side of the map. You can even see the door if you look down from the window to the right.

Head down there to enter Factory: Production.

5. Factory: Production (map 35)

This new map to Veteran Edition can be challenging. Your goal is to circle around the south side of the map, through the west and to the ruined temple to the north.

Remember to kill all the Crusaders (short, white mech enemies which shoot fire at you) as you proceed.


The Red Talisman is found inside the temple, up the steps near some waterfalls. Watch out as on two of the steps, the ceiling will come down and try to crush you on the third and sixth (final) steps.

The Red Talisman is on a small pedestal at the top. You need to kill all the Crusaders in this level for it to lower it down to give you access to the Talisman.

Conclusion

Gathering all three Talismans net you the Berserk Reborn achievement and a massive boost to your strength. It's like using the PUMPUPB cheat, but without cheating.
