Introduction
Hey Gang,
First time poster, relatively bad player here. I've been enjoying the game despite it crushing my soul so many times (I have a mark on my forehead for all the head slaps I've done!)
I've just slogged through sinner's path and thought I'd share some help for those who are struggling hard and aren't pro gamers! This isn't super complete, and i have some questions/uncertainties i would love answers for, but I can't see a lot of help out there so I thought I'd make a start =b Note I have compiled some other bits of help I've seen out there.
General Tips and configeration
First, some general tips and configuration.
a.) I equipped the Reaper crest for it's down pogo ability and verticality (essential as you will see soon). I've not unlocked the wanderer crest but I guess this could work, although from what i've seen, the reapers pogo has extended lateral range which is incredibly helpful in this area!. I also had a extra mask and an extra silk spool. Silk spear equipped.
b.) beeline for the bench! It's a pain to get to, and has it's own challenge to use but makes the whole ordeal much more manageable.
c.) SKIP ENEMIES. Particularly to get to the bench the first time. No shame in sneaking around and taking what shortcuts you can to get to that bench. once unlocked, you can get from the entrance of sinners path to the bench without fighting a single enemy (this theme i believe runs through the game). The muckroaches only drop teeth, no rosaries, so no point in killing them unless absolutely necessary.
d.) Use the terrain. There are a lot more structure in this area, in the form of cages. These give essential shelter for heals, and some cages are open/enterable meaning you can poke a few enemies through the bars. You can also kill a few enemies by whomping them into spikes on the wall. Reaper have heavy hits, and i've deffo killed some roach catchers using this method.
e.) avoid the water like the plague. It won't kill you but will actually plague you xD I normally go back to bench if i get infected, but you can bind to heal (it's just a harder to maintain full silk).
Map
Area guide
Now going through the numbered areas:
1.) Entrance area: This area introduces muckroaches. miserable enemies that can grab and hit for 2 damage. AVOID THEM! The area is designed for you to essentially sneak around them without waking them up, so do this. If finding yourself fighting them (If you fall or for the quest), play it cautious. when they are snuffling, poke and dash back. when jumping, jump HIGH and pogo, they leap much higher than expected and grab you. Best way is lure them to the centre where the flea is (long cage on the ground you can enter) , get them on top of the cage, then enter the cage and up attack through the floor.

2.) This area has 2 sections, bottom and top (you unlock shortcut to top after traversing "3".)
bottom: Note the green prince, you can unlock him with a key you find in "8". Follow the signs for bench to enter area "3". You are introduced to roachcatcher, who though spiky bolas at you that remain on the ground to hurt you. 2 main tips for these guys. firstly, you can return the bolas with a well timed strike to hurt the mob. you can also hit the grounded strikes for same affect (they seem to lock on to the enemy). secondly, pogo is your friend. they don't deal with attacks from above very well so get some height advantage and off you go (reaper crest useful for this)
There is a hidden room at the bottom with a lever on the floor to enter, but i don't recommend this until unlocking the bench (just some rosaries).
top: BEELINE FOR BENCH! you should be able to without any fights if you sneak alright. From the bench going up there are 2 roachfeeders. first guy is pretty easy if you know the way. wait until it's between the 2 tall cages, then go above it and pogo attack it. you should be able to sustain this until it's dead as it can't go sideways. The second guy is a bit more annoying due to the circle spikes, but it is possible to pogo up though the middle of the spikes which gives you space, or go under to the left and over to attack. you can also strike the roach feeder into these circle spikes for instakill. Note, you can avoid both of these enemies to get to the top room if you're smart. wait until the first one is low and drift dash over. 2nd guy wait till it's high and drift below it, the circle over and drift dash over it.
once enemies are dealt with, there's a switch to lower a shortcut on the left wall above the bench entrance.

3.) probably the worst area, but can be bypassed a bit if you're lucky to get to the bench quickly. This introduces the roach feeders which can be deadly if landing there multiple swipe attack, but can be kited pretty easily given space. use terrain and cages to your advantage. Biggest tip is get above them and pogo attack until dead!
You can actually skip most of this area if you repeatedly pogo the first roachfeeder to gain height and land on the platform above. Then you can head up and to the left, dodging the roachcatcher to beeline for the bench.
If you go the long way, kill the first 2 enemies on ground level using pogos where possible. Then go to the right. There's a door i havn't opened yet (any tips please help).
the middle level can be tricky, there's a roachcatcher and feeder that gang up on you. bait them out then go back to the right (i flung some threefold pins to bring them out). you can lure the feeder outside the open cage, then go in and attack through the floor/walls (kill the mite first). Or again go for the pogo chain if you can get the initial height (trickier from this position.)
at the top there's a final catcher. This guy is annoying due to the ceiling spikes. I preferred to parry the spikey bolas back at him. you can also poke him into the ceiling spike for the kill. Note, There is a secret room on the far right, I could only reach it buy pogoing off the enemy to the ceiling pogo spikes, then pogoing right before drifting.

4.) Bench/Map room: Sadistic room to say the least. first a moving pogo to get to the bench, pay your rosaries for a map and then again for the bench to get stuck (there's a handy loot pile to the right of the room if your strapped for cash) -.-
There's a hidden breakable wall on the top left of the bench room (honestly how are you mean to find this naturally?!), then a further difficult parkour course to get to the the gears to unlock the bench. If you didn't sneak and cheese through the first few rooms as recommended, you'll be sorry you didn't! Once bench is free you can breath again. (credit: DudeManBro21)
5.) This corridor has some roaches and their feeders. roaches won't wake up if you pogo attack feeders so try this. If they wake, they can pretty much jump on top of anything so watch out. There's a ceiling route after the first small bit that bypasses some enemies. at the end there's a entrance/drop exit above you i havn't figured out (plz help).
below there's a area with some small treasure (can't remember what)
6.) Pogo section, hidden entrance to "mists": first pogo section you can drift dash over. introduces roach keeper enemy . These guys pack a serious punch (I think 3 masks damage?!) but can be kited easily. this first guy you can cheese a bit but attacking under the platform on the right, or wall jump then poking on the left. otherwise just dash in, attack and dash out. jump over the beast when it punches. It telegraphs attacks pretty noticeably so isn't too hard with patience.
After this guy, pogo to the right for another reward.
SECRET AREA! There is a secret entrance to "mists" In the top left (like the bench). attack the wall to enter. (I'll leave quick mists guide below)
7.) Tricky area with pogos, roaches and keepers. TIP avoid the floor roaches and just stick to the keeper platforms, IMO easier to deal with xD poke and dash the keepers, jumping over when they punch. You can just avoid both keepers to prioritise getting to next area.
NOTE: The knight guy that assists with Moorwing actually takes out the 2nd (and i think 3rd??) keeper for you when conditions have been met. I'm not 100% sure what these are, but I had fought through that section once. Got the key from area "8". Released the green prince in area "2". Then when I got back to area "7" the knight had killed the 2nd keeper for me in this area, and it never spawned back. There may have been a 3rd but i can't remember.
8.) Vertical corridor with some feeders and mites. First of head up, there's an area with a feeder and importantly a Simple Key (one of the very few found in the game)! I got the key and unlocked the green prince straight away. Not sure what he does yet, but fairly sure this was the condition for the knight guy clearing some keepers in the previous area. Going down is pretty easy going, pogo the feeder below and knock the mites off platforms. some Rosaries to be grabbed here.
9.) Can't exactly remember what was here. some small reward i think.
10.) Final area with NPC. 2 Roaches guard this area which I'm NGL I died too way too many times. I ended up spamming silk spear and throwing pins to clear them =b
The NPC here, I don't know 100% what she does to be honest. Looking around other helps it seems you need to return to her later and she gives you an item them can return cocoons to you after you die, meaning you can recover rosaries from a boss you would previously be "locked" into lest you loose your hard (so hard) earned cash.
11.) some bugs in here give you a quest to farm roaches. I did this in the first area, using the long cage in the middle to attack roaches from underneath in relative safety. I had to bench between clearing roaches. They give you the Tacks as a reward, a fantastic tool for boss fights (especially when combined with pollip pouch). Scatters 5-6 tacks on the floor each use that attack enemies walking on them. Great to launch then forget about, doing incidental damage.
12.) Entrance area to The Mists. Some delicate pogoing but not too challenging. Mists section below. (honestly can't 100% remember the pogoing here
Enemies

Muckroaches. miserable enemies that can grab and hit for 2 damage. Avoid them or play it cautious. when they are snuffling, poke and dash back. when jumping, jump HIGH and pogo, they leap much higher than expected and grab you. In the first area, the best way is lure them to the centre where the flea is (long cage on the ground you can enter) , get them on top of the cage, then enter the cage and up attack through the floor. They will occasionally run back, then charge and jump you. Good lighting is useful to see charges. They can jump and clamber up higher structure so don't think you're always safe when standing on a cage.

Roachcatcher. These guys throw spiky bolas at you that remain on the ground to hurt you. 2 main tips for these guys. firstly, you can return the bolas with a well timed strike to hurt the mob. you can also hit the grounded spikes for the same affect (they seem to lock on to the enemy). secondly, pogo is your friend. they don't deal with attacks from above very well so get some height advantage and off you go (reaper crest useful for this). They seem to have the one attack of throwing the bolas, so get this down and you're golden. Just watch for spikes on the ground.

Roach feeders These guys can be deadly if landing their multiple swipe attack, but can be kited pretty easily given space. use terrain and cages to your advantage. Biggest tip is get above them and pogo attack until dead! If given less lateral movement ability they are quite easy to chain pogos. They have a few main attacks, 2 single swipe attacks and 1 multi swipe attack that can do 3 damage. These can be parried fairly easily in midair, so if you can't get above them, a quick hop, attack and retreat works wonders as they get pushed back a bit (especially with reaper)

Roach keeper. These guys pack a serious punch (I think 3 masks damage?!) but can be kited easily. this first guy you can cheese a bit but attacking under the platform on the right, or wall jump then poking on the left. otherwise just dash in, attack and dash out. jump over the beast when it punches. It telegraphs attacks pretty noticeably so it isn't too hard with patience.
3 main attacks: 1 Charge punch, This has a lot of horizontal range and hits HARD! It's easy to see coming so jump over and dash when attacked: chain whip, This covers an area around the keeper, just step back to avoid (this will catch you out if jumping over): Ball Screw jump, It'll curl up and either jump towards you or retreat away from you. you can normall dash out of the way backwards pretty easily, or dash under it if you're running out of space.
Mists (Honorary mention)
MISTS:
This area seems to be another Laugh in your face from Team Cherry tbh xD great once you know the way, but sadistic without a guide! This isn't as in depth as the above but should tide you through with basic tips.

The entrance is so unobtrusive it hurts. There is some precedent with the bench room but honestly there's nothing to indicate we should be hitting walls near the first keeper to enter the area in the first place. To the far left of area "6", at the top of the wall jump section near the keeper there is a breakaway wall. Go through here and the next area to enter the mists. (credit: can't remember, sorry)
ROUTE: There is NO MAP. The trick here is follow the butterflies when you play the Needolin next to them. Again, no idea how you're meant to figure that out on your own?! a little environmental clue when you first see the butterflies in the entrance would be all that's needed to tip you off, but ho hum. (credit: Throw_aw76)
TRAPS: so many traps here. Have your finger on the dash button. There are traps falling from above that need to pressure plate, traps spiking from below, and bear traps.
WRAITHS: Annoying but manageable. stay still on a platform, and jump/pogo when they screech. take 6 or so hits. If they munch you, they do a grab, double damage, and suck your silk, so just avoid when you can. (credit: 1oddfish)
ORGAN/BOSS: The organ is a fun lil area, followed by "Phantom". GRAB THE BENCH! top left of first largish area (bottom of "elevator") is the bench. grab this for a breather. The area itself is small with fun wall jump sections.
Phantom is a pretty fun boss. Tricky, but fair. Attacks are fairly telegraphed and open. The hardest bits are the organ gusts that do double damage and take up over a third of the screen. Mostly fine unless you get caught in a corner. I pogoed my way to glory here, spreading tacks in last phase (although can get annoying with the pollip, lots of screen information.) You get a parry/riposte silk skill as a reward.
The mists then lead to a bench and quick travel area in the chapel which was quite surprising as I haven't opened chapel yet =b
Summary
SUMMARY: Yeah this area sucked, but I played it cautious and got through. No actual boss in sinners path which was weird, but does lead to an item that mitigates future bosses. Reaper crest pogo was the elite in both sinners path and the mists. use height and terrain to get the jump on foes and you'll get through.
I hope this helps someone out there, I deffo relied on some help to get through. (credited where possible)
