Potion Formula

This is a simple guide for the formula for each of the potions I have discovered so far. To craft the potions below without the recipe, you MUST meet the three requirements below:
1) The starting ingredient must have their strongest pillar *exactly* equal what's listed
2) Your alchemist needs to have pillars greater than or equal to any individual ingredient used
3) The final result must equal or exceed all the listed values.

Note: These are the potions I have uncovered so far. I will add more as I discover them.

You can generally substitute materials for song (costly AF(xept basic) but you can), knowledge for mirror (I'd rather not, but your call), money for pain (... not even funny), and influences for whatever aspect they represent (you can get those from re-drinking advancement potions. Nigredo will give you the 2s and 4s). But afaik there in no 2 void influence.
For non-foundation you can also use potions and weather cards.

You don't need a freaking librarian to farm the forest.
Forest take 2 pain + 2 veil to "ace".
Even a 1-copper adventurer with ritual chimes can farm it.
Hell, even giving him coagulation potions instead of equipping chimes would still be cheaper than paying for the freaking overpriced librarian.

Money are pain in this game, truly.

Corrosive Acid Potion: [3 void] + 2 pain + 2 song.
It counts as poison.

@archmagi1 - I know this was a pre-patch question, but nowadays you can just buy them from the guild.
Real catch is that there's no "saturated", or even neutral, alternative for void 2 foundation.

@DeNarr "Weak poison" potion gives 2 void, didn't you know. ;P Xept you can't start a potion with it. And it's not really a better alternative anyway. So I'm just jesting here.

I would suggest getting a librarian. It has good veil stats, give it a Pain tool and send her on her way. ALSO! Librarians are able to research on their own! So you can constantly send the librarian on the forest expedition, have her research another forest expedition, send her out again repeatedly. However this burns through a lot of your Gossip and Rumors (to the point I couldnt brew some potions because of it 🤪) so watch out.

@archmagi1 I don't know of any alternative that gives void 2. You can get animal corpses by re-running the Forest Near the City though. It's a really easy adventure, just give any Veil boost to a basic adventurer.

PS: drinking potions can increase relevant pillars if youre still short on the numbers even after wearing artefacts. Depending on ascension choices, some potions are easier or harder for each class.

Hey thanks for the notes! I want to contribute a bit with my personal go-to recipes:

Repair. Amber Powder (or Hemp fiber) + Death Scent + Water
Pain: Heracleum Blossom Juice + H. Juice again + Death Scent
Connective: Amber (or Hemp Fiber) + H. Juice + Turnip Paste

River Bottle: Nutrient Fluid (two Turnip and alembic) + H. Juice + Animal Corpse
Rapid Growth: Ginseng + Rumor + Nettle (or Heracleum Blossom)
Gold Luck: Fable + Nutrient Fluid + Animal Corpse
Solid Stone: Hemp + Regenerative Potion + Corpse Liquids (two animal corpse and alembic)
Liquid Fire: Heracleum Blossom Concentrate + Hemp + Death Scent
Sculptor: Hemp Oil + Heracleum Blossom (or Nettle) + Turnip Paste


All are exactly (or very close to) your listed formula, and most are the cheaper/easier alternatives than the official recipes.
