Octodad
Loving father. Caring Husband. Secret Octopus.

Octodad: Dadliest Catch is a game about destruction, deception, and fatherhood. The player controls Octodad, a dapper octopus masquerading as a human, as he goes about his life. Octodad's existence is a constant struggle, as he must master mundane tasks with his unwieldy boneless tentacles while simultaneously keeping his cephalopodan nature a secret from his human family.(on the octodad website).

He is an awesome Octopus with lots of Swag. He is very talented, and one of the best dads ever.
Control intro
Ok, so when I first played this game, I used a gamepad, but after the first level, i decided to use the mouse.
Tip: USE GAMEPAD!!!!

The gamepad is much easier to use. My experience with the mouse was good, but better with a gamebad.

So lets begin shall we?
Leg mouvment
In Octodad, you move all limbs indivdually. This page talks about leg mouvment with mouse.
To move your legs in Octodad with a mouse, you click the left and right click buttons.
Left click for left leg, and right click for right.

In some levels, its important to know where your putting your leg.
Ex: you could put your leg on an object and it breaks, put leg in wrong spot, etc.
To help with this, holding down which ever click button you are using and sway your leg around, and look for the shadow of the foot (tentacle), and then click the other click button you weren't using to automatically have the leg that you were holding down go to that spot.

Picture: Last level: Hot concessions, where putting your leg in the right spot REALLY does matter.
Arm mouvment
To move your arms in Octodad: Dadliest Catch with the mouse, you have to toggle through the legs and arms. To do so, press the scroll button, and you will cycle through arm and leg mouvment
When in arm mouvment, Octodad almost becomes see through except for his arm. This is because they want you to focus on the arm, and is easier to see.

Note: Octodad (unless your in co-op), only uses one arm, unless there is an item tht requires him to use 2 hands (lawn mower, levers, etc). Most likely it will be his right arm.

To grab an item with your hand, left click on the object. Items that can be picked up near you willl be highlighted green. Items that are farther away but you can pick up are highlighted yellow.
To move your hand around, move it with the mouse.

To release an item your holding, left click the object.

To adjust the hight of your arm, scroll using the scroller up and down to adjust it.
Also you can hold items while walking.Picture: Octodad at the arcade.
Swimming mouvment
There is a level in Octodad: Dadliest Catch where you are swimming in the aquarium. It is called Shark Naked.
THERE ARE DIFFERENT CONTROLS THEN THE WALKING CONTROLS!!!!
For gamepad, you actually have to steer Octodad, but for mouse, all you have to do is power up his strides, steering is done for you!

To power up your strides, hold down the left click button. Sometimes when is shark is chasing you,you have to click fast.

Conclusion
I hope this guide will help people playing Octodad with mouse controls.
If I left anything out, leave a comment and I will update it.

On a controller you don't have to steer Octodad when swimming. It's the exact same as mouse, just with A instead of left click.
