🌱 Getting Started – What To Do First!
When you start Terraria for the first time, the game can feel overwhelming. But don’t worry!
Here’s exactly what you should do right after creating your character and entering your world.

🎮 1. Create Your Character and World!
Choose Classic difficulty (Softcore – you only drop coins on death).

Create a Small or Medium world for easier navigation.

Choose Corruption or Crimson (doesn’t matter much for beginners).

Enter the world!
🌲 2. Chop Down Trees!
You’ll spawn in a Forest biome, usually with the Guide NPC nearby.

Use your Copper Axe (you start with it) to chop trees.

Gather 50–100 Wood.

Pick up any Acorns that drop — you can replant trees later.
🛠️ 3. Craft Basic Tools!
Press Esc to open your inventory and crafting menu.

Craft a Workbench using Wood (requires ~10 Wood).

Place the Workbench on the ground.

Near the Workbench, craft:

Wooden Sword (better than your starting sword)

Wooden Hammer (for removing background walls)
🧱 4. Build a Simple Shelter! (Before Night Comes!)
Night is dangerous, and it comes fast. Build a small wooden house:

Make it at least 6 blocks tall and 10 blocks wide

Add:

Wooden Walls (crafted from Wood → required for NPC housing)

1 Door

1 Table

1 Chair

1 Torch (you need Gel from Slimes + Wood to craft this)

This will protect you from Zombies and Demon Eyes at night.
🌙 5. Survive the First Night!
Stay inside your shelter.

Use your sword to kill any enemies that come to the door.

Don’t explore at night — it’s too risky at the start.

Use this time to:

Organize inventory

Craft more tools or weapons

Expand your shelter

💰 6. Next Day: Explore and Mine!
Go exploring left or right during the daytime.

Look for:

Surface Chests

Caves

Ore (Copper, Tin, Iron, etc.)

Life Crystals (increase your max health)

Tip: Use Platforms and Rope to safely travel up and down caves.
🧪 7 Preparing for Boss Fights!
🏡 1. Build a Boss Arena
Never fight a boss on flat ground or near your house. You need an arena:

✅ Minimum Arena Requirements:
2–3 rows of Wood Platforms, spaced vertically about 7–10 blocks apart

Length: At least 100 blocks wide

Place Torches or Campfires for light and healing

Add Heart Lanterns (crafted from Chains + Life Crystals + Bottles)

Optional: Star in a Bottle for magic users

🔧 Example:

💡 Use the Hammer to slope the edges so you can move up/down easier.

💊 2. Brew (or Buy) Essential Buff Potions
These are a game-changer, even for early bosses. Always bring:

💡 Craft Bottled Water by using Bottles near water or Sink.

🧤 3. Equip the Right Accessories
Your accessories matter a lot. Before fighting any boss, try to get:

Hermes Boots / Flurry Boots / Sailfish Boots
→ Increases movement speed — essential for dodging

Cloud in a Bottle / Blizzard in a Bottle
→ Double jump for extra mobility

Band of Regeneration
→ Slowly heals over time

Shackles, Aglet, or any +Defense items

➡️ Combine accessories at a Tinkerer's Workshop later in the game, but pre-boss even basic ones help.

🧥 4. Wear Decent Armor (Minimum Iron/Tungsten)
Bosses can destroy you in seconds if you’re undergeared.

💡 Explore underground to find Ore, and use a Furnace + Anvil to craft gear.

⚔️ 5. Choose the Right Weapon for Your Class
Each boss favors certain weapons:

🔪 Melee:
Platinum Broadsword (or Gold)

Zombie Arm (rare drop, very strong early)

Blade of Grass (later Jungle option)

🏹 Ranged:
Platinum/Gold Bow + Jester’s Arrows

Minishark (buy from Arms Dealer – 35 gold)

🔮 Magic:
Wand of Sparking (meh)

Magic Missile, Vilethorn, or Crimson Rod

🧸 Summoner (Advanced):
Finch Staff (Journey Mode/early loot)

Slime Staff (super rare)

Use Summoning Potion + Bewitching Table (if available)

💰 6. Collect Money & Buy from NPCs
Save up for the Minishark (from the Arms Dealer)

Buy Ammo, Healing Potions, and maybe a Piggy Bank

Also, make sure you have:

The Nurse in town → You can heal during fights if needed

The Merchant → Sell junk, buy rope, potions, tools

🪓 7. Stock Up on Materials
Prepare the following before any boss:

Wood + Platforms (for arena)

Torches

Healing Potions (Lesser at minimum, Regular if possible)

Rope and Recall Potions

Bombs or Grenades (for Brain of Cthulhu or Eater of Worlds)

📋 8. Checklist Before You Summon a Boss:
✅ Armor upgraded
✅ Accessories equipped
✅ Buff potions ready
✅ Arena built
✅ Weapons chosen
✅ Healing potions crafted
✅ NPCs housed and alive
✅ Inventory cleaned (so loot doesn't get dropped!)

🔥 Final Tip:
Practice mobility above all.
Even with weaker gear, good movement and dodging skills make a huge difference. Terraria is not just about power — it’s about awareness and positioning.
👑 King Slime! (More bosses will be added soon!)
📍 How to Summon:
Use a Slime Crown, crafted at a Demon/Crimson Altar using:

1 Gold/Platinum Crown

20 Gel

OR wait for the Slime Rain event (random daytime event); defeat enough slimes to trigger the boss.

⚔️ Difficulty: Very Easy
Very slow; hops toward you.

Occasionally teleports.

Basic dodging is enough.

Excellent first boss to practice movement.

🎁 Drops / Rewards:
Ninja Armor set pieces

Slime Mount (great mobility item)

Royal Gel (makes slimes passive toward you)

Good money and early accessories

🧠 When to Fight:
After your first shelter and basic gear (Iron/Lead)

Can be done even before Eye of Cthulhu
