Had troubles with OpenGL? (Windows 8 and later, Radeon HDXXXX)

After installing Windows 8 this weekend, I was surprised to find my Radeon 4770 graphics card could no longer access the GPU functions of TBoI:Rebirth (but on Linux everything work great!). Deponia was also unable to launch, and it all seemed to come down to the fact that the included driver, for which AMD expects all legacy 4000-series and behind to run, doesn't properly support OpenGL functions in Windows 8.

After digging around on a few forums, this has worked for me with my AMD Radeon HD 4770 and has fully restored both TBoI and Deponia.
