By cnat :-)
The Rocksmith 'How to change your strings' video shows how to change strings pretty good, but not for other types of guitars.

Hey there again.

In one of my previous Guides, you learned how to clean your strings. ( http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=328828104 )
Here's how to change them.
Q: 'Pearly, i don't need this there's a Video in Rocksmith for that!'
A: Yes, that's right, but this os inly for 3+3-Style Guitars.

But there are other guitars too - you might even have another kind of guitar.

These have 6 tuners in a line, and the kind of tuner is different too.

How to restring Vintage Tuners
Q:What are vintage tuners?
A. They look like this:

So: The shaft has that hole in the middle etc.

How to restring that:

The Key here is:
~Keep good tension on the string, by pressing the string down against the headstock with your thumb or finger, as you wind the tuner and begin to wrap the string

Step one

Pre-cut the strings to achieve the proper length and desired amount of winds.
Pull the sixth string (tautly, remember) to the fourth key and cut it. Pull the fifth string to the third key and cut it. Pull the fourth string between the second and first keys and cut it. Pull the third string nearly to the top of the headcap and cut it. Pull the second string about a 1/2" (13 mm) past the headcap and cut it. Finally, pull the first string 1 1/2" (38 mm) past the top of the headcap and cut it.

Step two
Insert into the center hole in the tuning key, bend and crimp to a 90-degree angle, and wind neatly in a downward pattern, being carefull to prevent overlapping of the strings.

How to restring Locking Tuners
Q: What are Locking Tuners?
A: They look like this:

=>They have those holes

How to restring them[/b]
Well, that's what the Rocksmith video showed you.
If you still don't get it: This video explains it pretty good:
That's it
Pretty easy actually, rite?

If you still got questions feel free to ask!

If you enjoyed it please leave a good rating and a Fav for me! :)

Hey @Fred Fuchs, I realize your comment is a couple of years old now, but if you're still having that issue, it's because you're cutting your strings too short. You need to leave yourself enough length that you can wrap the string around the peg two or three times before it gets to the right tuning.

@DANZKA, he blurred that out because he didn't want to advertise the make of the guitar.

I just buy a new guitar, it's easier and faster that way.

Insanly difficult I can never get the string to wrap around the tuning peg more than once and by the time its wrapped around once its already a fucking F# when it's supposed to be an e so it breaks.

Thanks for the tips. Cheers!
