Fossil Echo @EGX Rezzed in London
Fossil Echo Has Been Greenlit!
Release date: Early 2016

Fossil Echo is a 2D platformer/adventure game set in a fantastical world and telling the story of a boy on a great journey.

Influenced by the Oddworld series, Ico & Shadow of the Colossus, as well as Studio Ghibli films, Fossil Echo tells the story of a young boy and his journey to climb a giant tower in the middle of the sea.
How he got there, and, more importantly, Why? are questions that will be answered via playable flashbacks during his ascent.

About language: The game features no dialogue nor text (except for the main menu), this is why no languages are listed in the info. The story is told through actions and music in a "show more, tell less" manner. You will be able to enjoy the game regardless of your spoken language.

The game is a short experience with no dialogue and features fully hand-animated characters on pre-rendered, painted backgrounds.
Gameplay consists of a mixture of platforming and stealth, where the character is very weak and avoiding being seen is always the best solution. And for those willing to meet the challenge, eight temples offer some insight on the game's lore and back-story.

  • Varied pre-rendered environments.
  • Hand drawn 2D animations.
  • Dynamic platforming gameplay.
  • Wall-jumping !
  • Stealth elements.
  • A story told without words.
  • Fully animated cutscenes.
  • Orchestral score by John Robert Matz (Gunpoint,...).

The game is being developped by 2 people, Philippe CRIFO (Story, art, design) and Thierry BOURA (Code & tech) in France and music is being handeled by John Robert MATZ from the US.
