Sea of Stars: DLC ACHIEVEMENTS

Hi everyone! This is my first time making a guide, but I’ve been an achievement hunter my whole life. I decided to finally make a guide by myself because of the struggle I experienced yesterday to find information about a "certain achievement" of these.
So, here's a complete guide to obtain the NEW 6 ACHIEVEMENTS introduced in Sea of Stars DLC: Throes of the Watchmaker.

Disclaimer: since I’ve already solved all the puzzles, I will just attach the solutions and not the whole process for solving them. I hope this will not be a big deal.

INTRODUCTION

Welcome to a full guide to obtain the new 6 achievements introduced in the first free DLC of Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker.

Before starting, I wanted to tell you a few things:
• None of these achievements are missable.
• In my save I’ve already solved all puzzles, so here you’ll find the final solution but not the process to solve them. I hope that would not be a big deal.
• This is my first time writing a guide, so feel free to leave some comments about the things I should improve for a future time.
• English is not my first language so please bear with me if some things are not written very correctly, thank you so much for your understanding <3

Having said that, let’s get started!

MARQUEE STAR

Unlock all skills and combos for circus classes



There are a total of 9 skills and 6 combos among all characters. Here you have a list of how to unlock them all.

VALERE SKILLS
• Pole Vault: from the start
• Lunebo: from the start
• Trapèze: Level 5

ZALE SKILLS
• Entarte: from the start
• Jugglenaut: from the start
• Sunbalancing: Level 4

ARTY SKILLS
• Cannonball Trampoline: from the start
• Leap Frog: from the start
• Toubib Bim: Level 3

COMBOS
• Spectacle Strike: from the start
• Trampoline Team: Level 2
• Terrific Troupe: Level 6
• Heap Frog: Rail Forest (it will be inside that swirly kind of frame, you just have to jump down from where Valere is now)
• Jugglecore: Ivory Towers (it will be exactly where Valere is)
• Galette des Rois: Wolf Rock (it will be exactly where Valere is)

Cook each of the five Horloge recipes at least once.


There are five new recipes to unlock in Horloge. You’ll start by already knowing how to cook the Popcorns and the Ice Cream. Let’s see where to find the other three:

• Caramel Corn: you can buy it from this specific shop, on the right side of the city
• Barbapapa: Ivory Towers. The recipe it’s located in a treasure chest in the very first area of the Ivory Towers.
• Milkshake: Wolf Cave. As before, the recipe will be inside a treasure chest in the first cave you visit.

After finding all of them, remember to cook each dish at least one time. You will receive the achievement right after!

WARLOCKED

Beat all of Horloge’s Wheel champions



To obtain the achievement, you need to beat the three Wheel Champions in Horloge. You can find them in the building located south west. But before that, you must obtain the Warlock figurine.

At the pond on the Wolf Cave Island, you can find an NPC that says he threw his figurine in the pond to try catch some fish (yes…); he offers to help you retrieve it if you catch all four kinds of Goodie Bags from the ponds. That’s not a big deal, you just have to go fishing in the three ponds in Horloge: the one you already are in, the one before Rail Forest and the one on the Lost Island. After catching them all, go back to our NPC and he will give you a Magnet Hook to catch the figurine. Now all that’s left to do is going back to Horloge and fight the three champions!

Some personal Tips&Tricks to defeat the Champions
The champions use:
- Warlock and Priest
- Warlock and Engineer
- Two Warlocks

Do you want an advice? BUILD. THE. WALL. The Warlock deals one damage to their user and then attacks three times at three different heights (high, medium, low, in this order). I honestly don’t know how high the wall should be to block the first attack, but I’ve always built it at the max level just to be sure. If you manage to block the Warlock damage these are actually pretty easy battles.
I personally mastered the combo Assassin + Mage, it’s the team I’ve used to go through all the championship in the main game: it’s pretty good to both deal always at least one damage to the enemy thanks to the Mage and to avoid walls and delay enemy’s action with the Assassin.

Earn top rank in all three of Horloge’s minigames



In the city of Horloge you’ll find three circus tents where you can play three different minigames, each one with a specific character. You’ll need specific skills to play them, which are Pole Vault, Sunbalancing and Toubib Bim (check the Marquee Star achievement to see how to unlock them). To get the achievement you need to get the maximum score possible in all minigames.

The minigames are not that difficult and actually pretty funny to do!

Some personal Tips&Tricks to get the max score

• Test of Balance: I suggest you to start gathering stars from the left and then making your way down, right and up again. But I think there’s not a right or wrong way to do this, try finding your best way!
• Test of Strength: I actually found this one the easiest among all the minigames. I personally tried to walk the least possible and move just by jumping through the hoops. Focus on getting the glittering and golden hoops!
• Test of Accuracy: ok this one needed a few attempts. I eventually managed to do it by first getting a x5 combo hitting the red and green targets and then focusing red, green and golden targets. I avoided getting the blue ones, since it’s pretty risky to try get them and one of them is equal to two green at x5 combo (one blue is 150, one green is 75).

Well, probably the easiest one to get, since you only need to finish the game and beat the final boss!

IMPORTANT: To obtain the achievement you need to have finished the main game and obtained the True Ending, so the one where Garl comes back.

After this, we can start searching for the 12 Time Runes.

As I’ve written at the start of this guide, I won’t be able to show you how to solve the puzzles since I’ve already done them in my playthrough, but I’ll leave here the final solutions in case you need a help with them.

• TIME RUN I: Obtained after beating the three Wheel Champions (Warlocked Achievement)

• TIME RUNE II: Goodies Pond, Lost Island. Enter the pond and swim upwards until you reach a waterfall. Go down the whirlpool and solve the puzzle.
You have to create this image. Note: the central slot should be empty, in the picture is shown the image after completing the puzzle.

• TIME RUNE III: Rail Forest. There’s a hidden cave behind this mountain (behind Zale in the picture); it’s not far from the entrance of the area.
You have to rotate the parts of this… thing until you see this picture:


• TIME RUNE IV: Mechanism outside Ivory Towers Islands

• TIME RUNE V: Ivory Towers, specifically in the last of the small islands you go through (the one right before the boss)

Fun fact: this is the only screenshot from my actual playthrough since that shape was so goofy I had to screenshot it for a friend.

• TIME RUNE VI: Horloge, top right of the city. Enter the tent, move the ladder on the left and go solve the puzzle.
Move the blocks and align them like this:

• TIME RUNE VII and X: Lost Island. Here you find both of them. Unfortunately, I can’t show you the puzzles solutions because these are not like the previous ones (I can’t just upload a screenshot im sorry).

• TIME RUNE VIII: Wolf Cave. Proceed in the cave until you reach the room with the “golden bridges” (I don’t know how else to call these), then jump down on the lowest bridge, like in the picture.
Enter the room and go left, you’ll find pretty quickly a small entrance at the bottom of the room.
Again, I can’t just screenshot this puzzle. You need to make the cube move from top left to top right by rotating the platforms as fast as possible. Then climb on the cube (that is now actually an elevator) and obtain the rune.

• TIME RUNE IX: Horloge. In the tent near the shop that sells the Caramel Corn recipe, there’s a NPC that wants a Balloonery Certificate (I’m sorry I don’t have the item anymore and I don’t quite remember how it was called, but he surely wants something). To obtain that, go in front of the tent of the Test of Accuracy and enter the cave as show in the picture.
Proceed until the end of the cave, unlock the mechanism and free the balloons. You have now unlocked a new path in the left side of the city.
Jump on the balloons, enter the new cave and open the treasure chest to obtain your item. You can now go back to the first NPC and enter the purple mechanism.
Complete the battle and get your time rune.

• TIME RUNE XI: Big Top. After defeating Pif and Pouf, head to the door on the red side of the hat (so top-right door).
Proceed until you find a tent. Totally ignore it and instead climb down the ladder and enter in the cave below.
For this puzzle, you’ll need to move around the pieces until the three with the gems on top are placed at the centre of the board.

• TIME RUNE XII: Given at the end of the game (pretty easy)


After collecting them all, interact with the clock on the ground at the centre of Horloge. And from here enjoy this last mini scene that will only give you a lot of questions and absolutely no answers! (I should have expected it seeing the achievement name…)

CONCLUSION

What a trip! I basically went through the whole game again to make all the screenshots for this guide! I hope you found it useful and that it was clear for you. I’m thinking about making also a video to guide you better to all the locations, but I’m sure a lot of videos will already pop up after I’ll upload this guide!
