Mouthwashing Guide Introduction
Welcome to Mouthwashing, a psychological horror game that drags you through cryptic sci-fi events aboard a deeply broken ship. With each chapter, you're fed subtle pieces of a much larger—and much darker—puzzle. This guide will walk you through every known achievement, ID location, and secret condition to help you reach full completion. Some achievements are straightforward, while others require weird little tricks or precise timing, so keep your eyes peeled.

What is Mouthwashing?
Mouthwashing is an experimental horror game set on a derelict spaceship where memory, identity, and trauma collide. You take on the role of a crew member navigating through a glitchy, haunted system of events—where timelines blur and familiar faces become something other. Unlike traditional games, Mouthwashing leans heavily into immersive horror and fragmented storytelling, offering bits and pieces through exploration and environmental clues.

It’s part walking sim, part psychological descent, with chapters that grow progressively more surreal and unnerving.

Main Objective
While the story itself unfolds linearly across 22 chapters, the gameplay encourages:

Exploration
  • Search every room and interact with everything. There are IDs, notes, and strange objects hidden across chapters.

    Observation
  • Mouthwashing is full of blink-and-you-miss-it moments. Certain achievements trigger through unusual or "pointless"-seeming interactions.

    Endurance
  • Some achievements require patience or precise choices to unlock. There are even entire “bizzaro” chapters hidden behind your decisions.

Your primary goal is to reach the end—but if you want to uncover every secret, you'll need to dig deeper and think outside the box.

Mouthwashing - Overview of Achievements
Unlocking Achievements in Mouthwashing
Achievements in Mouthwashing aren’t just rewards—they’re glimpses into the broken logic of the world you're trapped in. From simple story unlocks to bizarre side paths and secret character interactions, each achievement sheds more light on what's really going on. Some are automatic, while others require you to experiment or act against your instincts.

This section breaks them down into categories:

Automatic Progression – Story chapters that unlock naturally

Crew IDs – Collectible IDs from specific characters in designated chapters

Miscellaneous – Weird achievements tied to odd behaviors or secret events

Bizzaro Chapters – Alternate scenarios that push the narrative in surreal directions

Achievement Progression

Mouthwashing’s achievements are tied closely to your story progression, with some acting as narrative checkpoints and others branching off the main path. Below is a full breakdown by type and chapter, starting from the most automatic to the most obscure.

"I hope this hurts.."
Chapter 1 - Open the game for the first time.
The name already sets the tone. Welcome aboard—things only get worse from here!

"Go home"
Chapter 22 - Finish the game.
You survived the ride. Or… at least you got through it. Congrats!

"Developer"
Any chapter - Open the developer console with the ~ key.
You are the dev now. Or at least you look like one for 3 seconds.

Cheater
Chapter 2 - Skip the code-scanner. Use code 4517 to unlock the cargo door.
We’re not encouraging cheating, but... yes we are.

Yimpy
Chapter 4 (1/2) - Med-bay bulletin board. Stare at the doodle for ~10 seconds.
The little guy’s just vibing. Show some respect and stare back.

Friendly Introduction
Chapter 4 (2/2) - Past the old TV, stare at disabled-Curly in the shadows.
Nothing says “friendly” like a jump scare. Headphones warning for real.

Wasteful
Chapter 7 - Mix a fancy drink before you serve the cake.
3142 + 1324 (Water + Tonic), then 2341 (Sweetener).
It's not a party until someone wastes ingredients on mocktails.

Sock Puppet
Chapter 9 - Before giving Curly his meds, mess with his mouth repeatedly.
It’s as dumb and as funny as it sounds. Puppetry heals all wounds, right?

Any% Glitched
Chapter 14 - Take the Mouthwash bottle from Polle within 35 seconds of starting Chapter 14
Real ones just trust the pros. This strat is chaos and speed combined.

Note: Follow the linked video! It'll explain what you need to do!

Name of the Game
Chapter 16 (2/2) - 'Use' a bottle of mouthwash before the cocktail sequence.
The game’s title is a hint. You don’t drink it—you appreciate it.

Taking Notes
Chapter 19 - Use the cockpit scanner to unlock the gun-case without backtracking.
Locker code: 739
Big brain moment. Work smarter, not harder.
Crew I.D
Small collectibles scattered across the ship. They don’t impact story, but they’re easy to miss if you're not looking close!

Anya’s ID
Chapter 1 - Found in the cockpit cabinet right when you load into the game.
A freebie to get you started—don’t forget to check drawers in the future!

Swansea’s ID
Chapter 8 - In the lounge (he’s dancing with the axe). Check the food slot in the right vending machine.
He’s got moves and a vendetta. His ID is just vibing next to the snacks.

Daisuke’s ID
Chapter 9 - On the lounge table near the board game by the couch.
Honestly, who leaves their ID next to Monopoly?

Jimmy’s ID
Chapter 16 (1/2) - In the hat of the broken Polle statue in the lounge.
his one’s weirdly tucked away—bless the devs for making us click a hat.

Curly’s ID
Chapter 19 - After Daisuke’s death, go to Utility. Near the cryo-pod.
Kinda chilling, literally and emotionally. He deserved better.
Bizzaro Chapter
Optional... but not really. These chapters get weird—embrace it.

Trick Shot
Bizzaro Chapter 1 - After shooting Swansea, spin 360 around before shooting again in the graveyard.
It’s a dramatic kill if you twirl first. He deserves nothing less.

The Good Ending
Bizzaro Chapter 1 - Let Swansea kill you 10 times in the graveyard.
The name is sarcastic. Or maybe not. Either way—embrace the pain.
Congratulations
Congrats on making it to the end of the Mouthwashing achievement guide! Whether you screamed, laughed, or questioned your life choices along the way—I'm proud of you for sticking it through. I hope this guide made your 100% journey smoother (and maybe a little sillier).

Thanks for reading, and as always... keep your inventory weird and your mouth mostly washed.
