Remove persistent idTech Launch Notice

Although id Software has deployed a small game patch on May 14, 2025, somehow they must've altered startup messaging commands which cause the game to popup idTech Launch Notice during startup. If it persists, this guide will help you to remove this unwanted idTech Launch Notice when launching the game Doom: The Dark Ages.

Unwanted idTech Launch Notice!

Navigate Doom The Dark Ages destination folder

>>Go to your Steam library
>>Right-click DOOM: The Dark Ages
>>Go to Manage > Browse local files
>>It'll directly go to your currently destination folder Doom: The Dark Ages, regardless the driver letter you've installed on your NVMe SSD.

Follow these steps!

>>Double click "launcherData"


>>Double click "base"


>>Double click "configs"


>>Double click "launcher.cfg"


>> Look for these commands:

"rgl_showAMDStartupWarning 1"
"rgl_showIntelStartupWarning 1"
"rgl_showNvidiaStartupWarning 1"


>> Rename these commands:

"rgl_showAMDStartupWarning 0"
"rgl_showIntelStartupWarning 0"
"rgl_showNvidiaStartupWarning 0"


>> Click File and Save
