Locate Marked Bills Efficiently
By Dersh
This is just my process I use to make sorting counterfeit but especially marked bills more efficient and less tedious so I can get all the sorting done in bulk in a day or two.

Intro
This Guide assumes just sorting Dollars and Euros (for Yen you will need the Money Counter XXL for ¢6k)

So this is my setup I use to on a large scale (it can be expanded further to be more efficient, but this is the bare minimum equipment you will need) to sort out counterfeit bills, and also sort mixed types of currency quickly. You are also going to want to have a quest asking for counterfeit/Marked bills (for the use with scanner).
Minimum You Will Need
You will need:
8 Cardboard Boxes XXL (¢20 x 8: ¢160)
4 Plastic Pallets (¢35 x 4: ¢140)
1 Money Counter L (¢2500)
1 Money Counter Euro L (¢2500)
1 Steel Work Table (¢140)
1 Money Gun (¢150)
1 Standing UV Lamp (¢2800)
Rough Total Funds Needed: ¢8390
Counterfeit Sorting Setup
You are going to setup your sorting table as the picture below.

You want to put piles that are predominately dollars into the Money Counter Euro L, and piles that are mostly Euros into the Money Counter L (dollars). Set each one to no specific denomination with 100 bundle increments of bills. That way the Euro sorter will spit out all dollars out the front into Cardboard Box XXL in front of it, and Dollar sorter will spit out Euro bills into the Cardboard Box XXL infront of it without being clogged up too much with bills waiting for you to move them from the sorted slots. Both machines will spit counterfeit bills out the side onto the plastic pallets.

Both types of Sorters will recognise Counterfeit bills for Dollars and Euros, so you wont have any going into the Cardboard Boxes XXL's which will just have legit bills both marked and unmarked.
Best Spot for UV Standing Lamp
The Best spot for the Standing UV Lamp:

Regardless its not the best during the day so I really recommend leaving the sorting out of marked bills for at night. Its still possible just not as easy to spot them.

**The two XXL boxes by the Lamp are to save you contaminating all of your Legit unmarked bills and act as a buffer. So after you do a batch of clean bills into the XXL box on the left, you can scan them, with the quest to sell the guy Counterfeit/marked bills selected you can use the scanner to see if any marked bills made it into the box (counterfeit will have been removed in previous setup).
Update: Using quest objective not useful to see if Counterfeit/Marked Bills in package...
So after doing more testing, some marked bills will not check off the quest flag for counterfeit/marked checkbox on quests asking for bad money.

Unfortunately all you can really do is use the money gun, or you can throw 100 bills at a time into the air by the Standing UV Lamp to have them fan out pretty well to see if there are marked bills, and repeat until you are sure you got them all.

Hopefully in the future the Devs add more reliable late game machine for knocking out marked bills.
I really only sort at night...
You can sort during the day but the red markings are much less bright so I really only sort marked bills at night, counterfeit during the day.

Finally my setup for sorting Marked Bills:
Finally its just a matter of using the money gun to lay down bills around the UV lamp evenly to pick out the red marked bills. The Two XXL boxes act as a buffer from each other incase a marked bill or two gets in you don't have to resort the entire main cleaned XXL box.
Tedious Workshop...
So obviously if you have ink stained bills the workshop the only way to clean them. I tend to build up the ink stained bills for a long as possible before I clean them because thats probably the least enjoyable aspect of the game for me.

However for Marked bills I find its around 3-4 times faster to shoot off loads around the UV lamp stand, and a lot more fun than loading them into the workshop and trying to pick them one by one between the workshop trash/stash.

Plus its easier with the money gun to spread the bills out so they don't overlap much, pick out the marked ones then I can scoop up all the clean bills in one or two arm fulls and dump them into an XXL box.

Whatever TF they put into that workshop sponge, I want to shoot that ♥♥♥♥ into the washing machine with the inked bills lol.
Conclusion and Reason for all the extra XXL boxes
Clean Euro Cash:
So because I like to do all my sorting in a day or two, besides the XXL box that always stays near the UV light, I have one XXL box for each denomination if each bill increment so that when I am ready to wrap bundles in bulk it goes as smoothly as possible.

Anyway hope my system helps streamline the marked bills portion which to me was the most tedious/slow process in the game!

I appreciate the the back and forth on what is good & what is not about the game. hopefully the dev's will add new stuff to the game, making improvements the building itself i have been on the other side it looks totally not thrown together. LOL

The workbench itself could do with a black curtain that get drawn behind you when it's used, also the lights need addressed going normal to UV is not the great. And as you said during the daytime the lighting is horrendous.

The scrooge mcduck comment made me laugh and is comment of the day. HAHA :joke:

I do similar but once the vault opened, there are darker corners even during the day.

@Sharky well when I last played the workbench was still trash for marked bills during the day. I basically just find it really tedious and boring part of the game I enjoy the least.

I find it was good for maybe 100 or 200 bills at once but beyond that its just to slow and clicky. The money gun I think holds atleast 300-400 bills, I can evenly spread bills out and pick out the marked ones (assuming its night time so the lights are effective) around a few UV lamps. I can do a totally full XXL cardboard box in around 10 minutes. But predominately I just enjoy shooting wads of cash out of it.

Most times I am sorting there is a relatively low percentage of marked bills vs good ones so its usually pretty quick, plus I can pick up all the good bills with one or two arm fulls.

BUT...The fact there isn't a huge deep pool for me to fill with cash then jump into and swim around like Scrooge McDuck is by far the biggest travesty of this game! hah

Dam that is really sore one having 7 XXL boxes marked bills to sort out, have you tried watching the XXL counter on 2 counters running. you can watch out for marked bills and stop the machine once it done a 100 bundle.

The workbench is really strong to count money out, you put down a bundle and place the first bill either side for left or right handed. once you start counting the bills from one pile to the other it's like a magnet once you get good at it.

I also use the worked to sort out marked bills in right bundle too wished the lighting was better tho.

Personally I would have made it so after you've scanned a particular type of marked bill, the XXL Sorter would then be able to kick the marked bills out the side. Would have been an immersive way to deal with the marked bills tedium.

Yeah when I realised it wasn't working, I had around 7 XXL boxes right full I had sorted, and I just sighed to myself knowing I needed dump them all out to double check with the UV standing light and the money gun. I personally cant stand using that workbench other then when I have to, to clean ink off money.

I have no idea the exact number of loose bills one of those XXL cardboard boxes holds, id imagine probably around 10k of loose bills..

I can confirm on my last scan mission it's broken, i had pallet with marked yen bills and the scanner didn't say the bills were marked. hopefully they sort that soon. You think they would've added fake and marked bills to be collected out the same side, after all if you look at the side of the counter machine has a red X on the side.

Again im saying I was initially using the scanner plus quest objectives to detect marked bills i might have missed until I noticed it wasn't accurate at the time. Maybe they fixed that with 1.0.2, but prior to that it wasn't a 100% reliable method to ensure I didn't miss some marked bills when I was sorting as some marked bills didnt trigger on the scanner.

I haven't played since the 1.0.2 patch came out, so that method might 100% work now. It wasn't reliable as of 1.0.1. I was using this as a detection method for hours until I happened to be standing next to the sorter with a UV lamp watching, saw the marked bills flip by and pulled out the scanner and the quest objective for marked bills was good. Hopefully that is fixed as of 1.0.2 because it always seemed to be the marked bills with the eye symbol to the best of my memory.

I have a whole section on why I stopped using the scanner to check for marked bills for this exact reason.

Well i have accepted a mission that just has "No marked bills and have it as active quest, it 1000% worked for me so far. You can drop huge money bundles on the floor the phone will tell you if it has marked bills in it.

If you watching the XXL counter too and see marked bills add to a stack 100 you can stop the machine once the bundle is counted, take it to the workbench to remove the marked bills instead dropping them on the floor.

Am not saying it 100% catches every marked bill as i come across some really faded marked bills that was hard to pick up by UV light.

@Sharky it doesnt always work, I had a quest with both "No Marked Bills" and No counterfeit and I couldnt use that quest as a reliable way of detecting if a few marked bills slipped into my XXL sorting box. Maybe its working now with some of the updates they pushed out since I quit playing, but when I was playing it wasnt a reliable way to check.

I purposely dropped marked bills (the eye pattern) into my box of sorted bills and scanned it with the scanner with that quest with those conditions active and it still said my box was free of marked bills.

I had a section in the guide about using the quest objectives to scan my boxes to make sure I didnt have marked bills and according to the scanner the box was clean, but I had to change that section because the scanner kept telling me it was free of marked bills, however id dump out the XXL box and sure enough there were a bunch of marked bills. So I dont find those quests and the scanner reliable.
