General Tips
How Daedric Shrines Work
  • Daedric Shrines are hidden across Cyrodiil.

  • Most shrines require a minimum level and a specific offering.

  • You must complete 15 Daedric quests before you can access Hermaeus Mora’s quest.

  • Completing these quests grants you powerful Daedric Artifacts.

How to Get All Shrine Locations

Ask NPCs about "Daedric Shrines" to mark some on your map or use this map.
1. Azura
I have seen your name, Traveler, and heard it whispered in twilight.

________________________________________________________________

Summary List
  • Location: Directly north of Cheydinhal, in the Jerall Mountains.

  • Level Requirement: 2+

  • Offering: Glow Dust (acquired by killing Will-o-the-Wisps at night).

  • The offering can only be made at dusk (5-7pm) or dawn (5-7am)

  • Reward: Azura’s Star — Grand Soul Gem that doesn’t break.
________________________________________________________________

Location
From Cheydinhal, head north past Lake Arrius. Azura’s Shrine is on a mountain ridge.

How to Get the Marker
  • Reading the book Modern Heretics

  • Speaking to Trayvond the Redguard in the Cheydinhal Mages Guild about "Daedric cults"

  • Speaking to Ulene Hlervu of Castle Cheydinhal about "Cheydinhal" followed by speaking to her about "Daedric shrines"

  • Speaking to Borba gra-Uzgash at Borba's Goods and Stores about "Daedric shrines" after having spoken to Ulene Hlervu about "Cheydinhal"
________________________________________________________________

Quest
Slay Azura’s followers who became vampires. They reside in Gutted Mine, just south of the shrine.

________________________________________________________________

Tips
  • You will likely contract Porphyric Hemophilia, which leads to Vampirism. If you do, you may want to know how to avoid becoming a full blown vampire.

  • If you are having trouble defeating the vampires, you can use Fire Damage, since vampires have a 50% Weakness to Fire.

  • Bring silver or enchanted weapons.
2. Boethia
Survive, and you will be rewarded. Fail, and your soul belongs to me.

________________________________________________________________

Summary List
  • Location: Southeast of Cheydinhal, on a mountain ridge.

  • Level Requirement: 20+

  • Offering: Daedra Heart.

  • Reward: Goldbrand — Fire-enchanted katana, top-tier melee weapon.
________________________________________________________________

Location
Cheydinhal, follow the trail toward Lake Poppad. Shrine is high up, tricky climb.

How to Get the Marker
  • Reading the book Modern Heretics

  • Reading the book The Refugees

  • Speaking to Borba gra-Uzgash in Cheydinhal about "Daedric Shrines"

  • Speaking to Ulene Hlervu about "Cheydinhal"
________________________________________________________________

Quest
Enter a dreamscape arena and battle nine other warriors representing the races of Tamriel.

________________________________________________________________

Tips
  • Unlike the gladiator battles in the Arena, there are no rules about looting the corpses of your fallen opponents. Make sure you pillage the bodies of the fallen for some nice leveled weapons, enchanted arrows, armor and tons of potions. You don't have to pillage until all battles are completed because the corpses never disappear.
3. Clavicus Vile
You'll not find a better bargain, mortal.

________________________________________________________________

Summary List
  • Location: Northwest of Chorrol

  • Level Requirement: 20+

  • Offering: 500 gold.

  • Reward: Masque of Clavicus Vile — (+20 Personality) OR keep Umbra.
________________________________________________________________

Location
Head west from Chorrol’s North Gate, across the Orange Road.

How to Get the Marker
You must find the shrine on your own, no one will tell you where it is.
________________________________________________________________

Quest
Retrieve the cursed sword Umbra from its current bearer. Located in Vindasel, southwest of the Imperial City.

________________________________________________________________

Tips
  • Keeping Umbra does not prevent you from doing Hermaeus Mora's quest.
  • If you wish to achieve 100% completion, you must return the sword Umbra to Clavicus. This is the only way to obtain the Masque of Clavicus Vile, which is one of the 15 items that count toward the "Artifacts Found" statistic.
  • It is possible to complete this quest without killing Umbra by disintegrating the sword and then pickpocketing it.
  • The greatest challenge in defeating Umbra lies within her healing ability: damage has to be done as rapidly as possible so that she does not just heal herself in between your attacks.
4. Hermaeus Mora
I am Hermaeus Mora. Past, present, and future are as one to me.

________________________________________________________________

Summary List
  • Location: Northwest of Bruma, Close to the Borders of Skyrim and Hammerfell.

  • Level Requirement: 20+

  • Offering: None.

  • Reward: Oghma Infinium — Choose one of three paths (Steel, Shadow, Spirit) to gain permanent +10 boosts to specific attributes and skills.
________________________________________________________________

Location
It is north of Sancre Tor, with the path to the shrine splitting from the Orange Road east of Sancre Tor, about halfway to Boreal Stone Cave and between two wooden bridges.

How to Get the Marker
You must find the shrine on your own, no one will tell you where it is.
________________________________________________________________

Quest
Capture the souls of all 10 playable races using Black Soul Gems. You'll be transported to a realm where you must hunt down specific targets.

________________________________________________________________

Tips
  • It is possible to trigger this quest without receiving Daedric Artifacts from each of the other 14 Daedric quests; officially failing a Daedric quest also counts. For example, if Melus Petilius dies, Molag Bal's quest immediately ends without any chance of a reward; however, Molag Bal's quest still counts as far as Hermaeus Mora is concerned. In general, as long as the Daedric quest is in your list of completed quests, it will count. The two exceptions are Malacath's and Namira's quests, which must be finished correctly.
  • Your quest log will update for each soul you capture; if it doesn't update when you are sure you had soul trapped a new race then your game has become bugged.
  • The Oghma Infinium is a quest item and cannot be removed from your inventory until you use it.
  • Mora's Soul Trap is not a true Soul Trap spell: it does not trap creatures in standard soul gems, and it cannot be used to create Black Soul Gems. Furthermore, even though standard Soul Trap spells are in the school of Mysticism, Mora's Soul Trap is in the school of Alteration, and will give you Alteration skill points when used.
5. Hircine
The hare crouches before the fox's muzzle. Perhaps I shall task you, mortal.

________________________________________________________________

Summary List
  • Location: West of Cheydinhal

  • Level Requirement: 17+

  • Offering: Bear or Wolf Pelt.

  • Reward: Savior’s Hide — Light armor with 25% Magic Resistance.
________________________________________________________________

Location
It is east of Charcoal Cave, which in turn is beside a pond along the Green Road south of Pell's Gate.

How to Get the Marker
Speaking to Ontus Vanin using the topic "Daedric shrines"; you must have already read Modern Heretics or have spoken with Ulene Hlervu about "Cheydinhal".
________________________________________________________________

Quest
Track and kill the last unicorn in Harcane Grove. Dangerous spriggans protect it.

________________________________________________________________

Tips
  • You do not have to be at level 17 for the Unicorn to appear in the Grove. You can ride or kill the Unicorn at any point in the game. However, killing the Unicorn is no easier at low levels (the Unicorn's statistics are not leveled). Also, once you have obtained the Unicorn Horn it is a quest item which, while weightless, still cannot be removed from your inventory until you complete this quest.
  • At high levels it is possible for the Unicorn to be killed by other denizens of Cyrodiil. This does not, however, affect the quest. When you loot the Horn from the corpse, the quest progresses normally.
  • Soran's Journal, added by the Wild Horses Creation for Skyrim Special Edition, suggests that the Unicorn you kill during this quest is actually the last one in existence, rendering the species extinct until the Psijic Order's intervention.
6. Malacath
You brought a present. Good.

________________________________________________________________

Summary List
  • Location: Near Lord Drad’s Estate, northwest of Anvil

  • Level Requirement: 10+

  • Offering: Troll Fat

  • Reward: Volendrung — Warhammer with Absorb Strength and Paralyze.
________________________________________________________________

Location
Malacath's Shrine is located on the Gold Coast, west of Fort Sutch and north of Anvil.

How to Get the Marker
  • Speaking to Thaurron in the Anvil Mages Guild
  • Speaking to Pinarus Inventius in Anvil about Daedric Shrines (you must have already read Modern Heretics or have spoken with Ulene Hlervu about "Cheydinhal")
________________________________________________________________

Quest
Free enslaved ogres from Drad’s estate. Expect heavy resistance.

________________________________________________________________

Tips
  • While the freed ogres won't hurt you, it is possible for them to attack your horse on sight. In particular, this is likely if you are riding Prior Maborel's Paint Horse, Shadowmere, or a stolen horse (all of which are members of the Prey faction). If so, you may want to leave your horse at the shrine and head to the farm on foot.
  • If you kill any ogres before returning to Malacath, you will fail the quest and forego your chance to receive Volendrung. This will also prevent you from ever being able to start Hermaeus Mora's quest . If, on the other hand, the ogres are killed while fighting the guards, you will not fail the quest.
  • Malacath will not accept Painted Troll Fat.
  • The Drad Estate is a private area (red icon) but you still should be able to speak to Lord and Lady Drad.
  • Once the ogres are freed they force Lord and Lady Drad to work in their own fields. This happens even if all the ogres inside the mine were killed by the guards.
7. Mephala
Call me 'Webspinner'. Pluck but a single thread, and the weave unravels.

________________________________________________________________

Summary List
  • Location: Northeast of Bravil

  • Level Requirement: 15+

  • Offering: Nightshade

  • Reward: Ebony Blade — Two-handed sword that absorbs health.
________________________________________________________________

Location
Mephala's Shrine is located in the Great Forest, east of the Silver Road, halfway between where it meets the Orange and Red Ring Roads.

How to Get the Marker
  • Speaking to Ontus Vanin about "Daedric shrines"; you must have already read Modern Heretics or have spoken with Ulene Hlervu about "Cheydinhal".
  • Speaking to Luther Broad about "Imperial City"; you must raise disposition to 60.
________________________________________________________________

Quest
Incite a feud between the Ulfgar and Dalvilu families in Bleaker’s Way.

________________________________________________________________

Tips
  • This is one of the few quests that requires you to murder. For players wanting to avoid the stat increment for this there are several options (Creatures from the wilderness may kill the leaders for you, reverse pickpocketing a Poisoned Apple into the leaders etc.)
  • There are several ways to fail this quest (If you are caught committing a crime in Bleaker's Way or if everyone is dead)
  • It is impossible to keep the Dalvilu Cermonial Dagger or the Ulfgar Family Ring if you complete the quest. Once the items are placed in the dead bodies, they are removed from the game via script.
  • If you want to invest in every store in Cyrodiil you should ensure that you have already invested with the Bleaker's Way innkeeper, Kirsten Ulfgar, or that the quest succeeds. Even if she survives the battle you will be unable to trade or invest with her if you fail the quest.
8. Meridia
By the detritus of the profane, I am brought forth. And by your offering, you have made the profane your interest, mortal.

________________________________________________________________

Summary List
  • Location: West of Skingrad

  • Level Requirement: 10+

  • Offering: Bonemeal, Ectoplasm, or Mort Flesh

  • Reward: Ring of Khajiiti — +10 Speed, Invisibility for 30s.
________________________________________________________________

Location
Chart a course west-northwest from Skingrad's west gate to find Meridia's Shrine between Cursed Mine and Shardrock farm.

How to Get the Marker
You must find the shrine on your own, no one will tell you where it is.
________________________________________________________________

Quest
Clear a necromancer-infested dungeon near Howling Cave.

________________________________________________________________

Tips
  • If you have already killed the Howling Cave necromancers before starting the quest, your journal will immediately update after Meridia gives you your task, allowing you to finish the quest without revisiting the cave.
  • The offering needed to activate this quest must specifically be either Ectoplasm, Mort Flesh, or regular Bonemeal. Meridia will not accept the rare 2-gold variety of Bonemeal (collected from Deranged Zombies), nor will she accept the remnants of Undead creatures that are found exclusively in the Shivering Isles: Bone Marrow, Bone Shard, and Hound Tooth.
  • There is a portion of ectoplasm on the ground just behind the benches at the shrine, in case you need some. It is translucent and half-embedded in the ground, so you will likely have to rely on the hand icon to show you that you're looking at it.
  • if you are at a level where liches spawn, you may wish to try and draw them into range of the necromancers as they are not allied with them and will attack them.
9. Molag Bal
Another mortal come to do my bidding. I only wish suffering and death. You will bring me both.

________________________________________________________________

Summary List
  • Location: Near Brindle Home (east of Skingrad)

  • Level Requirement: 17+

  • Offering: Lion Pelt

  • Reward: Mace of Molag Bal — Absorbs Strength and Magicka.
________________________________________________________________

Location
It is southeast of Hackdirt, in the heart of the Great Forest south of the Ayleid ruin Narfinsel.

How to Get the Marker
You must find the shrine on your own, no one will tell you where it is.
________________________________________________________________

Quest
Lure a noble priest into murder. Very dark.

________________________________________________________________

Tips
  • Since being killed is a requirement to complete the quest, this would be a great opportunity to raise your Block skill.
  • It is possible to sell or drop the cursed mace before attacking Petilius.
  • Make sure not to take any followers with you as they might kill Petilius. Likewise, make sure to remove any form of reflect damage you might have active.
  • Frenzy spells will not count as provoking Petilius.
10. Namira
You dare approach my shrine, Child of the Light?

________________________________________________________________

Summary List
  • Location: West of Bruma

  • Level Requirement: 5+

  • Offering: None, but Personality must be under 20.

  • Reward: Ring of Namira — Reflect Damage (12%), Reflect Spell (10%).
________________________________________________________________

Location
Namira's Shrine is east-southeast of Bruma and northeast of where the Silver Road and the Orange Road meet.

How to Get the Marker
You must find the shrine on your own, no one will tell you where it is.
________________________________________________________________

Quest
Help Namira's followers against priests of Arkay.

________________________________________________________________

Tips
  • It is recommended to do this quest before your Personality reaches 60 (or 100), as after that it becomes much more challenging to drop the attribute to the amount required to start the quest.
  • Another option is to Damage your Personality rather than drain it. This can be accomplished with several alchemical effects.
  • Quest completion only requires that the priests die but not at your hands. This can also be accomplished by releasing the undead near the end of the dungeon and leading them back to the priests.
  • The Namira's Shroud spell changes the torch carried by the targeted priest of Arkay from a standard torch to a special type of torch that cannot be lit. After the priests have died, you can retrieve these torches. They will be listed separately in your inventory from other torches. If you equip one of them, the torch will go out immediately. This spell has no effect if cast on other torch carrying NPCs, it only affects priests of Arkay.
11. Nocturnal
Night among strangers. Secrets in the dark. Nocturnal is here.

________________________________________________________________

Summary List
  • Location: Between Leyawiin and Bravil

  • Level Requirement: 10+

  • Offering: None.

  • Reward: Skeleton Key — Unbreakable lockpick with +40 Security bonus.
________________________________________________________________

Location
Nocturnal's Shrine is located off the Yellow Road north of Leyawiin, just past Blankenmarch.

How to Get the Marker
you can add a map marker to your map by talking to Alves Uvenim in Leyawiin Mages Guild.
________________________________________________________________

Quest
Recover the Eye of Nocturnal stolen by a pair of Argonian thieves.

________________________________________________________________

Tips
  • The map marker will point to Tidewater Cave as soon as you speak to either Bejeen or Weebam-Na, rather than needing you to successfully eavesdrop.
  • You can go straight to the cave after receiving the quest and find the eye there without going to Leyawiin at all.
  • If desired, you can simply kill the thieves then go to Tidewater Cave—Nocturnal doesn't care if you commit murder. It should be noted that this will make Mazoga the Orc's quest impossible to complete if not finished already.
12. Peryite
This one moves! A welcome change.

________________________________________________________________

Summary List
  • Location: Southeast of Bravil, on a small islet in Niben Bay

  • Level Requirement: 10+

  • Offering: Imp Gall

  • Reward: Spell Breaker — Shield with 30% Spell Reflection.
________________________________________________________________

Location
Peryite's Shrine is located on the south bank of the Silverfish River, about where it begins to turn to the north (close to where the R at the start of 'River' is on the paper map).

How to Get the Marker
No one will give directions to it, so it must be found.
________________________________________________________________

Quest
Enter a Daedric plane and rescue the souls of Peryite’s followers.

________________________________________________________________

Tips
  • All five worshippers are immobile essential NPCs who regenerate life every time they are close to death. Before you complete the quest, this is a perfect place to train any of your skills. Back one or more into a corner and hack/cast away at them (note, though, that you will not be able to recover your arrows from them and that casting destruction type spells, like shock or flare, will cause them to fall over and stand back up, possibly out of place from where they were standing before). There is no one near to report your actions as a crime, they won't die, they won't fight back and they won't even move.
  • If you attack the worshippers excessively, your game may become unstable due to all the unreported, zero-bounty assaults. This can result in crashes when saving the game, or even when fast-traveling (due to auto-saves before traveling). It is recommended that you keep an alternative save slot prior to entering the area. Legally resolving a crime clears out all the "unreported" crimes which are overloading the engine. Simply commit a crime that is reported (steal a worthless item and get caught, or punch a guard) and then pay the fine to fix the issue. It is probably safest to do this periodically instead of waiting for your game to become unstable, because once your game starts to crash it may be too late to recover.
13. Sanguine
Ah... another mortal come to beg Sanguine to add a bit of spice to an otherwise drab existence.

________________________________________________________________

Summary List
  • Location: Northwest of Skingrad

  • Level Requirement: 8+

  • Offering: Cyrodilic Brandy

  • Reward: Sanguine Rose — Summons random Daedra.
________________________________________________________________

Location
The Shrine of Sanguine is roughly northwest of Skingrad and southeast of Fort Dirich at the edge of the treeline.

How to Get the Marker
Speaking to Fadus Calidius in Skingrad Fighters Guild or Falanu Hlaalu at All Things Alchemical will reveal the location of the shrine on your map.
________________________________________________________________

Quest
Use Sanguine’s spell to crash a formal dinner party in Leyawiin.

________________________________________________________________

Tips
  • After you complete this quest, a special edition of the Black Horse Courier is published: Pranks Spoils Society Gathering!.
  • It is possible to avoid a bounty altogether by Using an Invisibility potion before the spell hits.
  • If your disposition with the guards is 91 or higher, you will still incur a bounty. However, you won't have to pay it nor will you be arrested.
  • The map marker for the "Shrine Of Sanguine" is named differently from all of the other daedric shrines; the other shrine markers are named, for example, "Peryite's Shrine" or "Meridia's Shrine".
  • Performing this quest while other Leyawiin quests are active could cause unwanted consequences. In particular, the quests Mazoga the Orc and Knights of the White Stallion can become unavailable or terminate early if Mazoga comes to your aid and gets killed by the guards.
  • The Stark Reality effect does not show up in the "Known Effects" list at a spell making altar.
14. Sheogorath
Another mortal dares to summon me, and already I am bored. But enough about me. Let's talk about you.

________________________________________________________________

Summary List
  • Location: Southeast of Bravil

  • Level Requirement: 2+

  • Offering: Lesser Soul Gem, Lettuce and Yarn.

  • Reward: Wabbajack — Unpredictable magical effects on enemies.
________________________________________________________________

Location
Sheogorath's Shrine is located on the border to Elsweyr, halfway between Bravil and Leyawiin.

How to Get the Marker
You must find the shrine on your own; no one will tell you where it is.
________________________________________________________________

Quest
Cause madness in Border Watch using a prank staff that triggers plagues and fear.

________________________________________________________________

Tips
  • After you complete this quest, a special edition of the Black Horse Courier is published: Rain of Burning Dogs!.
  • After the first prophecy it will consistently tell you to talk to Ri'Bassa, even after doing so. Just continue on with the second prophecy to get the quest update.
  • It's also possible to kill the sheep in any way, even before the rats die. However, the final sixth sheep will only spawn after journal stage 50 has updated with the arrival of the rats.
  • It's possible that one of the dogs survives both the flaming descent and the massive fall. After doing so, it will just wander around aimlessly.
  • Although Ri'Bassa describes the prophecy as foretelling an event which would force his people to leave their village, the "catastrophe" does not cause them to abandon their home. After the quest is completed, Ri'Bassa will only speak a single line of dialogue and then exit conversation.
  • Since Sheogorath is the Lord of the Shivering Isles, the dialogue you hear during this quest changes after you install the Shivering Isles expansion, at which point the exact dialogue will depend upon where you are in the Shivering Isles main quest. Normally, Sheogorath talks to you; his voice changes to his SI voice after you have installed the expansion. However, if you have reached the SI quest Symbols of Office, then Haskill will talk to you instead. Other than these dialogue changes, the quest remains the same.
  • The shrine's followers will not recognize you as Sheogorath following the Shivering Isles main quest.
15. Vaermina
We meet again, mortal, for we have met before, whether you know it or not.

________________________________________________________________

Summary List
  • Location: North of Cheydinhal

  • Level Requirement: 5+

  • Offering: Black Soul Gem

  • Reward: Skull of Corruption — Creates a hostile clone of the target.
________________________________________________________________

Location
Vaermina's Shrine is located on the shore of Lake Poppad, a short walk southwest of Cheydinhal.

How to Get the Marker
The location of this shrine can be marked on your map by Speaking to Ontus Vanin in the Talos Plaza District after having read Modern Heretics or have spoken with Ulene Hlervu about "Cheydinhal" or Speaking to Luther Broad, the innkeeper of Luther Broad's Boarding House in the Elven Gardens District about the "Imperial City".
________________________________________________________________

Quest
Retrieve the Skull of Corruption from a thief inside Arkved’s Tower.

________________________________________________________________

Tips
  • You cannot wait in the tower, as it is considered trespassing.
  • Vaermina will mention Arkved living out his days even if you killed him.
  • If you re-enter Arkved's Tower after receiving the Skull of Corruption, Arkved will be standing upright.
  • If you use the Skull of Corruption on Arkved, he will awaken and his corrupted clone will attack him; they will fight until the clone disappears, and Arkved will return to being unconscious.
  • If you have an empty and a filled Black Soul Gem, Vaermina will take the empty.
(Bonus) Mehrunes Dagon [WIP]
Mehrunes Dagon doesn't have an outdoor shrine, instead, his hidden shrine can be found in Lake Arrius Caverns.
You will be able to enter the Cavern when you start the Dagon Shrine Main quest which is the 6th Main Quest.
I will make an in depth guide about the cave and the shrine when i get to the quest.
Final Notes
After completing all 15 quests, Hermaeus Mora will summon you. Finish his soul hunt quest to gain the Oghma Infinium, one of the game’s most powerful artifacts.

You can Use this checklist and map to track your progress and unlock every Daedric reward! It was fun creating this guide, i used to create a similar guide for Skyrim But it is very Cluttered and poorly written so I will probably get back at it again when I feel like playing skyrim again. If this guide helped you then i hope you will give this a like since i spent a good bit of time (4 hours) writing this and 10 Hours grinding in oblivion to finish all the Daedric Quests. And if you have any form of Criticism Please let me know in the comments.

Happy hunting, Champion of Cyrodiil. May your path be dark and blessed!
