Because it's cool. It's fun to say the funny lines. And with this guide, you'll be able to say cool things, like "I'm not gonna sugarcoat it; "

You'll have complete access to my full knowledge of how each command works in the chat window, as well as in emotes over your character's head, including a hexadecimal color chart, most of the game's icons, and fancy effects.

This guide was made for my convenience, and yours, too. I don't like having to join a server to get a kilobyte of text information. Neither did you, clearly.

You can use /em to use these effects as if your character were speaking!
Remember, the game operates at 60 frames per second. Chatting too fast will look random, and emotes will hang for about 3 seconds. Don't write paragraphs if you want it to look good.
BBCode Tags
Firstly, all BBCode tags can be CLOSED, as well as opened. [b] in YOMIH enlarges the text. Closing it with [/b] will not enlarge the text after the closed bracket. This works with all effects, like rainbow, color, underlining, waving, shaking, etc. You can use this to have different effects, or different styles of effect in one message.

All BBCode tags have further tags you can put inside the brackets to change how they work, with specified values. If a negative value would work - there is a hyphen in the list. You do not need all tags, only the ones you want.

[b] actually just activates the monofont, but it's also like bolding.
Does not work in emotes.

[u] underlines a text

[s] strikes a line through a text.

[p] and [indent] are functional but not particularly useful beyond maybe clearing chat with 6 indents.
Only indent works in emotes

[left] does not work, but [center] and [right] do, as div aligns, use [fill] in place of left. These work but suck in emotes.

[rainbow]
tags; freq=x.x, sat=x.x, val=x.x, speed=-x.x
[rainbow freq=1 sat=1 val=1 speed=1][/rainbow]
Freq controls the length of each color in the rainbow.
Sat controls the saturation of colors, and val their value/hue (I think,)
Speed's speed.

[wave]
tags; amp=xx.x, freq=xx, connected=1/0
[wave amp=40 freq=10]
amp controls the height, freq controls the speed. Connected might connect the letters.

[tornado]
tags; radius=xx.x, freq=-x.x, connected=1/0
[tornado radius=20 freq=5]
Radius controls how far the text spins
freq controls speed and can be negative to reverse the animation
connected might connect the letters

[shake]
tags; rate=xx level=x connected=1/0
[shake rate=50 level=9]
rate controls speed
level controls how much letters shake
connected, yada yada

[fade]
tags; start=xx length=xx
fade start indicates which character the fade. . . starts
length dictates how many characters it will fade to black over

its really specific and you should just copy-paste these from the list section.

enter a 6 digit (hexadecimal) color combo or specific alias (yomih has very few functional, only basics) to change a text's color, crazy, right?

Nice guide! I also found out that if you add things like [rainbow] to your steam nickname, it will show properly with all of the effects in game
