The basics and purpose of gaining score.
Your Score in Jedi Power Battles servers one useful purpose, the higher the score you get the more rewards you Receive at the end of a stage with 3 being the max amount of rewards you can receive per stage. The highest tier of reward can possibly gain you a permanent Attack or Defensive bonus, even a new force power to make use of. So aiming for a high score is very much within your interest if you want to excel at the game.

The most basic thing to understand about gaining score is that you will only receive points for having actually defeated an enemy yourself. If an enemy is destroyed for any reason outside of your control you will not gain the points for having defeated them, so it's always worth destroying enemies yourself, then throwing them down a pit or getting them caught in the line of fire of other enemies.

The longer the combo you perform against an enemy the more points you will receive with every hit of a combo, so it's worth using more elaborate combos over shorter combo strings when you can, the points will add up over time. It's also worth collecting every item you find in a level for the score bonuses they can gain you. If you come across a challenge that will half your health and force power in return for a nice chunk of score, When you are familiar with the Challenge collectables locations it's a good idea to keep in mind close by health or force pickups, and picking up the Challenge first and then topping yourself off with the other near by items.
The Method

The trick to getting an easy high-score is quite simple. When you reach a checkpoint your score will be saved when you die and respawn at that checkpoint, all the enemies a head of you will have respawned, but they aren't the only ones. All the enemies and collectables behind you will have respawned as well. There are plenty of opportunities to respawn at a check point and back track to defeat enemies an obtain collectables a 2nd time. Doing this once in any level is already going to give you a good head start to gaining enough points to earn all the rewards at the end.

If there is any level giving you trouble when it comes to getting a high enough score, simply look for an opportunity after a checkpoint to back track, and use a respawn to gain a ton of points a 2nd time.
