Introduction
this is a small step by step guide on how to set up the latest DLSS version and the latest preset with the new Transformer Model.

if you don't want to download an extra tool, try the NVIDIA App method first but I personally recommend the nvidiaInspector method
nvidiaProfileInspector
1. download nvidiaProfileInspector here: https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfileInspector/releases

2. unzip the .zip file and open the nvidiaProfileInspector.exe in the folder

3. set the following settings under 5 - common:

4. click on Apply changes and close nvidiaProfileInspector

(btw. you have to repeat step 3. and 4. every time you update your nvidia driver)

Profit you can start the game now and enable DLSS with your preferred Quality Setting

PS: if you want to check if everything worked, have a look at
Optional: NVIDIA DLSS Indicator

PPS: if you want the AutoExposure feature of DLSS for less ghosting check out
Optional: DLSSTweaks

PPPS: if you want to use Frame Generation you can take a look at Optional: DLSS Frame Generation below, depending on which GPU you have

Alternative: NVIDIA App
1. Open the NVIDIA App and navigate to Graphics > Program Settings > The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered > Driver Settings

2. click on DLSS Override - Model Presets and change Use same settings for all DLSS technologies to Latest and hit Apply

2.1 if you have an RTX of the 30 series or lower, you can only overwrite the Super Resolution

3. done

PS: if you want to check if it worked you should have a look at Optional: NVIDIA DLSS Indicator down below
Alternative: DLSS Swapper
if you have problems with the nvidiaProfileInspector or the NVIDIA App you can try the DLSS Swapper which also updates the DLSS version but not the preset which you have to set with Optional: DLSSTweaks

1. download DLSS Swapper here: https://github.com/beeradmoore/dlss-swapper/releases
(it does not matter whether installer or portable)

2. unzip the .zip and double-click on DLSS Swapper.exe or double-click on the installer.exe and install DLSS Swapper and open it after installation

3. click on The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remastered

4. click on the window with the number below DLSS and click the newest version (the top number) and hit Swap

4.1 repeat the steps for all windows available to you with numbers in it

5. done

to update the preset have a look at Optional: DLSSTweaks
Optional: DLSSTweaks
if you want the DLSS AutoExposure feature for less ghosting, you can set it up with DLSSTweaks:

1. download DLSSTweaks here: https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/550?tab=description
(you need a nexusmods account for downloading)

2. unzip the .zip and open the folder

3. open EnableNvidiaSigOverride.reg and click on Run

4. open DLSSTweaksConfig.exe

5. click on the top right on copy to game folder

6. navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common choose Oblivion Remastered and hit Select Folder on the bottom right

7. use xinput1_3.dll as Wrapper filename:

7.1 hit OK and Confirm and Yes:

8. set OverrideAutoExposure to Force enable:

9. scroll down to DLSSPresets and change all Presets from Default to K:

10. click on save on the top left

11. close DLSSTweaks and start the game

Optional: NVIDIA DLSS Indicator
if you want to check which dlss version and which preset you are currently using in dlss-enabled games, you can display this with a registry entry

1. download the needed reg files here:
https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/1202?tab=files&file_id=4800
(you need an account on nexusmods for downloading files)

2. unzip the .zip and double-click on Enable.reg and hit Run

3. done you should now be able to see the indicator on the bottom left ingame
(not visible in mainmenu) (to deactive the indicator use Disable.reg)

if you dont want to download anything you can also enable the indicator manually:

1. Press Windows + R type regedit and hit OK

2. navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NGXCore

3. right-click on the big white blank space and create a New > DWORD (32-Bit) Value and name it ShowDlssIndicator

4. double-click on ShowDlssIndicator and change the value to 1024 and check Decimal and hit OK

5. close the registry editor and start the game you will see the indicator on the bottom left of the game while playing and not in the main menu

if you want to disable the indicator just delete the created file

Optional: RTX 40/50 DLSS Frame Generation
If you have an RTX 40/50 you can use Frame Generation in the game

make sure Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling is enabled

windows 11:

1. press the windows key on your keyboard and click on settings

2. navigiate to Display > Graphics > Advanced graphics settings and activate(On) Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling

3. restart your PC

4. you can now activate DLSS Frame Generation ingame
Optional: RTX 20/30 + GTX 9xx/10xx/16xx DLSS Frame Generation
to use Frame Generation with a RTX 20/30 or GTX 9xx/10xx/16xx GPU you need a mod from nukem that replaces DLSS Frame Generation with FSR 3 Frame Generation

_______________________________________________________________
warning: oblivion remastered sometimes has problems with the mod depending on the system and disables frame generation while the fps is displayed as normal, usually deactivating and then reactivating Frame Generation solves the problem

for some people it helped to deactivate the vignette effects: https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivionremastered/mods/177
_______________________________________________________________

how to:

1. download dlssg-to-fsr3 (universal) here: https://www.nexusmods.com/site/mods/738?tab=files
(you need an nexusmods account to download files)

2. extract the .zip file and open the folder dll_version

3. copy the files dlssg_to_fsr3_amd_is_better.dll and version.dll

4. open a new explorer window with windows key + E and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion Remastered\OblivionRemastered\Binaries\Win64
and paste both copied files into the folder

5. press the windows key on your keyboard and open settings

6. navigiate to Display > Graphics > Advanced graphics settings and activate(On) Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling

7. restart your PC

8. you can now activate and use Frame Generation
Optional: NVIDIA G-SYNC
if you have a G-SYNC capable monitor and want to use G-SYNC efficiently here are some usefull settings:

1. open Nvidia Control Panel and navigate to Set up G-SYNC and adjust the following settings:

2. click on Display at the top and activate G-SYNC Compatible Indicator to get a small green G-SYNC symbol in the top right corner in games that shows you that G-SYNC is active

3. navigate to Manage 3D settings and to Global settings and adjust the following settings and hit Apply:
  • Low Latency Mode - Ultra
  • Max Frame Rate - Off
  • Monitor Technology - G-SYNC Compatible
  • Power management mode - Normal
  • Preferred refresh rate - Highest available
  • Shader Cache Size - 10GB ->
"if your GPU has more VRAM than 10GB" else leave it at default
  • Triple buffering - Off
  • Vertical sync - On

4. close Nvidia Control Panel

5. press windows key on your keyboard and open settings

6. navigate to Display > Graphics > Advanced graphics settings

(the nvidia driver will enforce this settings)

10. done

@Spiritual Scientist hm have you installed mods by any chance? usually the error that you posted indicates that the plugin.txt is faulty and not essential that something is wrong with your DLSS configuration. but I could also be wrong.

check whether your loadorder in plugin.txt looks like this:

Oblivion.esm
DLCBattlehornCastle.esp
DLCFrostcrag.esp
DLCHorseArmor.esp
DLCMehrunesRazor.esp
DLCOrrery.esp
DLCShiveringIsles.esp
DLCSpellTomes.esp
DLCThievesDen.esp
DLCVileLair.esp
Knights.esp
AltarESPMain.esp
AltarDeluxe.esp
AltarESPLocal.esp

if all this does not help i would delete the plugin.txt file and verify files at steam

This is fantastic. It removes all blur!
GeNova Ascar 26 апр в 14:13
It seems like enabling frame generation and preset k or super resolution really tanks FPS instead of helping it's really noticeable in a loading screens cuz it stutters
Keyboard Warrior 26 апр в 14:10
I did force Auto Exposure on but I still have a ton of ghosting at night. Hmmm.

@TwistJackMachine hm i would recommend that you first do a clean reinstallation of your driver with DDU: https://www.guru3d.com/download/display-driver-uninstaller-download/

here is video how to do that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98DAgw1KcmI

and then i would suggest you try the method with the nvidiaprofileinspector

also make sure that dlss is activated ingame and the quality level is set to your preference.
Derktron 26 апр в 8:58
DLSS is a waste of time if you are not on a 4k series or 5k series.
TwistJackMachine 25 апр в 22:49
the nvidia way has tanked my fps by updating and messing with my drivers. i went from 60 to stuttering at sub 20 fps. no idea how to rectify the situation
adds39939 25 апр в 10:33
If you force DLSS Auto Exposure ON, it significantly reduces ghosting in dark areas.
Keyboard Warrior 25 апр в 8:48
Works well, however at night and in certain conditions the ghosting is NUTS even with the tweaks mentioned.
