This is a step-by-step guide to the North Bramblemead Valley and includes the secrets you'll find inside.

North Bramblemead Valley
The town above the vault includes a side quest that is worth picking up if you're a mage or want to unlock a Tier 4 recipe for a staff. The quest takes you to the vault.



Click the statue to receive the quest.



Highlighting the Problem side quest will be added to your journal.



The journal *subtly* suggests checking out the vault.



Bramblemead Valley north vault



Pop a Lodestone down at the entrance and enter the vault. Take out the Sentinel which is the first enemy you'll see. Use the Windstep spell to jump up to the platform, avoiding the fire arrow trap.



To the left of the first Sentinel is a cave with 2 rats, some rune essence and a chest. The first large area includes 2 Hulks, a Sentinel and the Vault Core. Aggroing either Hulk will draw both of them to you.



In the next area are 4 rats. Two you can see and 2 hidden around to the right. To the left is a stone boulder that can be removed with a pickaxe or Rockslosion spell. Behind the stone are some nodes of rune essence.

Above the rats is an area you can reach by using the Windstep spell. It includes a chest and the statue you need to interact with for the side quest. In the chest is a Tomb of Attack.



The next area includes 3 stationary enemies (2 Hulks and a Sentinel) and a patrolling Hulk.



RANGED: The easiest way to fight is to pull all 4 enemies into the previous room where the rats were. Jump to the elevated position and take them out one at a time. Retreat to the passageway if the Sentinel starts casting a spell.



After the battle follow the passageway around to the left and you'll come to another fire arrow trap. There are two rats waiting there for you too. Just past the trap to the left is a Hulk who will likely aggro before you see him.

The Hub

The room opens up, revealing another Hulk and a Sentinel to your left ("left passage").



Two passageways lead off - one straight ahead ("straight passage") and another to your right ("right passage"). For ease of understanding, this room will be called the Hub.


Right passage
A decision is required straightaway; you can either overcome the fire arrow trap, or remove the stone boulder. Hidden on the left is a Hulk who will attack you as soon as you enter. Behind him is a chest. Around the corner is another fire arrow trap and in the distance is a Sentinel guarding a Vault Core. The room also includes some rats.



Overcome the spike trap to plunder the Vault Core.



In the corner is a lever which will take you back to the Hub.

Straight passage
Ahead and down is an arrow trap. Beyond this is a large blue rock and to its right is a locked gate that opens from the other.



To the left of the blue rock is a passage you'll gain access to by sneaking. Waiting for you is a Hulk and a few rats. The only thing to note in the room is a chest near the lever. Return to the Hub once you're done.

Left passage
Head to the left and you'll be immediately facing a multi-trap of 5 spike plates and dual fire arrows. Beyond this is the room with the lever. Pulling the lever opens the way back to the entrance and also the door to the boss room.



The boss is an Archon, a supped up version of a Sentinel. The room also has some rats.



RANGED: to cheese the fight, hide behind the metal boxes and shoot the boss from cover. The Archon will just stand there and won't fight back. Loot the chest and plunder the Vault Core.

Return to the town above

Pickup your Lodestone and move it back to the town. Clear out the goblins who have likely respawned. Return to the Statue and select the first option.


Grab the orb and use the Windstep spell to access the three charging nodes. Two of the nodes are connected. From one of the platforms run up the roof and jump to the raised platform where you'll find a chest. From here jump to the other charging node. The third charging node is accessible from another platform guarded by goblins. Return to the statue once you've accessed all three charging nodes. After more talking you'll complete the quest and receive a new recipe.
