Basic team ethics
By RidiculousUsername_03
In this guide, i will describe the basics of ethical teamwork, essentially, how to prioritise not just personal performance, but fairness and fun for the entire team.

EDIT: Well it's nice that this sat at the top spot of popular guides for at least some period of time, it's there as of editing this in. Hopefully that means more people will see this, and abide by its contents.

EDIT 2: Yeah as of this edit it is no longer front page sadly, however it did stay there for about a week, maybe a little more so that's cool.

The basic 'rules'
Things you should AVOID:
killstealing*
ramming teammates out of positions (e.g. bushes)
ramming teammates if they are aiming at an enemy (i.e. if they are stopped and aiming, don't hit them)
blocking shots from teammates (if they're aiming and reloaded, don't go in front of their gun)
camping**
playing your tank's role incorrectly (e.g. sniping in a heavy tank or tank not meant for that purpose, each tank is different and they have their own playstyles, but it is important to find and utilise the most ethical one for your team.)
Move alone or do other stupid plays, everybody makes mistakes, especially new players, but if you are prone to this, then listen to your team and follow them if no communication is provided.

Things you should DO:
Let teammates have kills if they dealt most of the damage for it, (i.e. if you just arrived, don't take their kill***)
allow team with more appropriate vehicles to utilise certain spots (e.g. if you are in a jgpz E 100 and a grille 15 wants to use your sniper position, let them!)
when possible, co ordinate with your team

CLARIFICATIONS/DEFINITIONS:
* - if your teammate has been whittling down or has just gotten an enemy to one shot health, and you contributed little to nothing of that damage, let your team have the kill.
** - this is taking a vantage point, and sitting there for the entire match or close to, and watching your team get killed because they don't have enough people actively at the front or in the battle, because of short match times, camping IS allowed if you are not required at the front. Yes, you DO need to compensate for teammates playing their tanks wrong even if it means you play in a less personally efficient way.
*** - there is an exception to this, such as if the enemy could easily kill one of your teammates and it is risky to wait, in this case, killstealing is perfectly viable. Same applies to a situation where you need to get rid of enemies as fast as possible to continue advancing, but this can be hard to identify, so for newer players, avoid it in the latter case. If you do end up killstealing, try to let the player you stole it from have one of your kills later in the match.
End of guide.
I hope this handbook for ethical and enjoyable team play was useful, and hopefully made some people think twice before becoming a stat farmer at the cost of fun for their team, and sometimes themselves. Personal performance is important, but enjoyment for everyone involved is far more important in our favourite virtual tank game. I wish you all the best, in game and in anything else that may come your way.

Thanks for reading! (:
