How to Get the Galaxy Sword in Stardew Valley

Introduction

The Galaxy Sword is one of the most powerful weapons in Stardew Valley. To obtain it, you first need to acquire a rare item: the Prismatic Shard. This guide explains how to find a Prismatic Shard and how to use it to unlock the Galaxy Sword.

1. How to Get a Prismatic Shard

Prismatic Shards are rare and valuable minerals. Here are the main ways to find one:


1.1 Mining
• Skull Cavern (best chance): Found in the deeper floors (especially 70+), in Mystic Stones or Iridium Nodes.
• The Mines (Floor 100+): Very rare drops from Iridium Nodes.
• Volcano Dungeon (Ginger Island): Prismatic Shards can be found in chests and gem nodes.



1.2 Enemies

Rare drop from:
Shadow Brutes, Shadow Shamans, Mummies, Serpents, Squid Kids

1.3 Fishing Treasure Chests

Occasionally found in treasure chests while fishing (very low chance).

1.4 Geodes & Omni Geodes

Small chance from cracking Omni Geodes at the Blacksmith.

1.5 Gifts from NPCs or Events

Very rarely received during Winter Star gift exchange or special events.

1.6 Rainbow Shell Fish Pond

If you raise Rainbow Shells in a Fish Pond and meet certain conditions, they may produce a Prismatic Shard.

2. How to Get the Galaxy Sword

Once you have a Prismatic Shard, follow these steps:

2.1 Go to the Calico Desert
• Unlock the bus by completing the Vault bundles in the Community Center or via JojaMart.
• Take the bus to the Calico Desert.



2.2 Find the Three Pillars
• Head to the area right of the bus stop in the desert.
• Look for the three mysterious stone pillars arranged in a triangle.

2.3 Hold the Prismatic Shard
• Make sure the Prismatic Shard is selected (in your hand).
• Walk into the center of the triangle.



2.4 Receive the Galaxy Sword
• A cutscene will trigger.
• The Prismatic Shard disappears, and you receive the Galaxy Sword.

3. Bonus: Galaxy Weapons Upgrade

After unlocking the Galaxy Sword, you can buy the Galaxy Dagger and Galaxy Hammer at the Adventurer’s Guild.
• Later, you can upgrade them to Infinity Weapons at the Forge on Ginger Island using:
• Cinder Shards
• Another Prismatic Shard
