100% Achievement Guide for Dreams of Aether

This is a step-by-step guide written to complete all achievements in an efficient way.

                                                        

Story achievements

Complete 5 main stages of microgames to learn the game and unlock the first achievements.

If you have troubles with any of the games, or want to know what to expect in advance, you can read the tips for each game at the bottom of this guide.

Experience a dream about falling.

Experience a dream about being chased.

Experience a dream about fighting.

Experience a dream about doing chores.

Beat the game.

After the main story is complete, you will unlock bonus stages, get at least 1 star in all of them (they unlock 1 by 1).

Get 1 star in the Endless Abyss.

Get 1 star in the Endless Nightmare.

Get 1 star in the Endless Divide.

Other achievements

Get 3 stars in any stage with a boss.

Play any story mode stage in endless mode and beat it with 3 stars (50 score). The easiest is probably the starting stage (Absa). Depending on the stage you choose, you can also complete one of the 5 boss achievements below right away.


Use the chest menu in the bottom right (All dreams) for the next achievements:

Hit the speed cap of 300%.

The easiest way to do this is in the "Ignore your Problems" game (Fight makes right|Artemis). Don't do anything unless you see the frog shaking, in which case attack.
Also doable in "Shaking it up" and "Really Blew it".

Beat Lv. 3 of a sporty boss.

If you haven't gotten this while getting 3 stars in any stage, then play "Worstie Ball" (Diving in|Arsa). Centralise yourself before they throw the ball at you.

Beat a fishy boss before the melody starts.

Play the "Boss Pro Fishing" game (All natural|Sylvanos) and beat it as fast as possible. Restart for level 1 and 100% speed.

Beat Lv. 2 or 3 of a weapon-wielding boss without getting hurt.

Play the "Clairen's Soul" game (Fight makes right|Artemis). At level 1 you don't even have to dodge, when prompted just hit instead. After each dodge you can do a double hit.

Beat Lv. 2 or 3 of a flying boss without getting hurt.

Play the "Tou Hodan" game (And the rest|Hodan). Focus on dodging; your hitbox is much smaller than your visual model. You don't have to tap X, just hold it. If you got hurt you will start blinking.

Beat a rhythmic boss without missing a beat.

This is the most difficult achievement. Play the "Dancing Pandemonium" game (The final dual|Añi). During the first round of dancing try to memorise the moves, they will repeat during the second round, when you will also have to complete microgames. Between the beats you can press any buttons, but if you press the wrong button on a beat or fail a microgame you will fail the achievement. The moves are written down at the bottom of this guide.

Games

This is an overview of all the microgames, as well as some tips and guidelines for them.

Absa|Diving In

Flappy Wrastor

Flappy-bird-like. At lvl3 the obstacles start to move up and down.

On A Rail

Press the correct arrow keys in advance. At lvl3 there will be many turns back to back.

Adapt

Smash X as fast as you can.

Curing Boardom

Take some time to aim, precision is more important than speed.

Batter Up

Press the arrow keys in a circular motion. You have to do it only in one or another direction.

Frog-On-A-Stick

At lvl3 there will be a gust of wind that blows you to the side, as soon as you see it balance towards it.

Scurvy's Bane

The fruits have to land on either the sword or the head.

Land Ho!

You don't have to touch the treasure chest, just reach the beach. At lvl2+ there will be obstacles.

His Magnificence

Sometimes you have to press both Z and X, and sometimes you have to press nothing. At lvl2+ there will be multiple poses in a row.

Dig Straight Down

Dig above one of the light grey blocks to land on top of it.

Worstie Ball

Try to centralise yourself whenever possible.

Artemis|Fight Makes Right

Kitsune Shooté

Shoot the target. At lvl3 both you and the target will move. When approaching the sides, the speed of the target/you will slow down, take that into consideration.

1 bird, 1 stone

Aim a little bit ahead of the birds and at lvl3 try to aim for the grouped up ones.

FORSBURN LOOK OUT

Try to stay in the middle and dodge the fireballs.

Follow That Fuse

Mash the arrows keys towards the correct direction. Holding does nothing.

Defining trait

Press the button corresponding to the hand with the knife. At lvl3 you have to wait, then as soon as you see the hand swap - press that button.

Parry This

Press arrow keys towards the direction of the arrows. At lvl3 some arrows will rotate 90 degrees.

Missile Don't Miss

Aim at the ships; as soon as the missile is released from your gun at your target, move onto the next target.

Bro Just DI

You can press X quite early, which is what you should try to do.

The OL' 1 2

Just mash Z and X.

Ignore your Problems

At lvl3 when you see the frog shaking, you actually have to attack (Z or X).

Clairen's Soul

At level 1 you don't even have to dodge, when prompted just hit instead. After each dodge you can do a double hit.

Sylvanos|All Natural

Sylvan Watch Out

Always try to go as far as possible, you can't overshoot the landing.

Moth to a Flame

Light the candles. There will always be an amount of candles equal to the level. Candles in the corners can be hard to see on dark monitors.

Chip off the old rock

Only press X when the red bar is full.

Reed in the weeds

Use arrow keys to navigate the maze, as soon as you reach the light you escape.

Orcan

You can start moving to the next plan a little bit in advance, as the water takes some time to fall down.

Just another brick

Move left or right. There is a little bit of leeway where the blocks will fall into the correct position.

Slip Slidin' Away

Hold X to jump higher. You might have to do small jumps only at lvl3.

Snowbear Snowball

The target is always in the center, so don't stray too far from it.

Floorcamping

Press X when the sheep is at the stinger. At lvl2+ the sheep will always bait you and either stand still or move away, then rush to the other side.

Touch Grass

Cover the pillars with grass. At lvl3 cover the singular pillar first, then cover the higher one on the other side, then go all the way to the left/right to cover the bottom one.

Boss Pro Fishing

Hold arrow keys to move towards the fish right away. Start premoving with the arrow keys before the game even starts. At lvl2+ I believe you will just have to guess which direction to press at the end.

Hodan|And the Rest

Combo's Cracked

Rotate to the correct number. The direction you rotate the first time does not matter, however you have to approach the second number from a different direction, and then the third different again (left-right-left, or right-left-right). However, you can still keep the direction when rotating to the second/third number (if that's faster), pass it a little bit, and then switch direction to approach it from the other side at the very end.

Bug Putt

Putt the ball into the hole. It can bounce off walls.

Ayala Kart

Just press X once as soon as prompted. Do not press it too early.

Clairen's Big Break

Reach the exit, you can only move left and right. At lvl3 there will be a robot moving towards you, but it will only start moving once you enter its lane; plan accordingly.

Crate Counter

Start pressing the up arrow as soon as the game starts, then adjust your result once you've counted. Crates that are not directly visible and hidden behind other crates still need to be counted. Try counting in groups of 3 or 4. If you see multiple layers of crates (like 6 on top of another 6), try multiplying them by 2.

Based Ball

Hit the ball as soon as you see the shadow on the white base on the ground. At lvl3 you have to watch the shadow or go by feel.

Hop and Pop

Jump on each circle once, then land on the white lilypad. If the circle is filled in with grey, you have to jump on it twice. Be careful and don't jump into the water.

Boxing Hurts

Match the model to its shadow. At higher levels the shadows will be rotating and blinking in and out.

Test Flight

Land on the roof. At lvl2 there will be an obstacle, easiest is to fly above it. At lvl3 the obstacle will move and follow you, try baiting it in one direction then going in another. Don't crash into the side of the house.

Inner Peace

Hold X until the circle around you lights up. At lvl3 you won't see an expanding circle, so look for the colour change. In general it's better to underhold X than overhold.

Tou Hodan

Your hitbox is much smaller than your visual model. You don't have to tap X, just hold it.

Ani|The Final Dual

Time to SPRING

Press X when the bar is above the yellow line.

Shaking it up

Just mash left and right arrow keys.

Añi in the spot... light

Follow Añi with the light. You can keep the light off her for only less than a second.

At the end of my rope

Move all the way up or down at the start, then move to the other side as the balls aim at you.

Really Blew It

Just mash any buttons.

Piñatail

The area is quite forgiving - stick the tail anywhere in the pink area on the butt, even some of the white area on the body is fine. At lvl2+ the piñata will start to move.

Dancing Pandemonium

During the first round of dancing try to memorise the moves, they will repeat during the second round, when you will also have to complete microgames. Between the beats you can press any buttons, but whenever you press the wrong button on a beat or fail a microgame the progress bar moves right. If it reaches all the way to the right, you lose, otherwise you win. You can just focus on the dancing and win.

The moves for the game are always the same:
Level 1: ←→, ←→, ↑↓, ↑↓, XX, ZZ, XZ, ZX, ←→←→, ↑↓↑↓, XZXZ, ←↑→↓. Repeat once.
Level 2: ←→←→, ←→←→, ↑↓↑↓, ↑↓↑↓, XXZZ, ZZXX, XZXZ, ZXZX, ←↑→↑, ↑→↓→, XZXZXZX, XZXZX X. Repeat once.
Level 3: ←→←→←→, ↑↓↑↓↑↓, XZXZXZ, ←↑→↓←↑, ←→←→←→←→↑↓↑↓↑↓↑↓↑→↓←↑→↓←↑→↓←↑ (the last ←↑ are quick). Repeat once.
