Enhanced controller support for Haste!
Features
  • Gyro Aiming (Motion Controls)
  • Rumble support on many game actions (Configurable per action)
  • Adjustable auto look (Camera automatically tilting to face where you're going)
  • Adjustable deadzones and power curve of the right stick
  • All features configurable within the in-game settings
  • Fully open-source![github.com]

Controller Support
  • Xbox: Partial support. Controllers have no Gyro, but other features work perfectly.
  • DualShock 4 (PS4): Fully supported.
  • DualSense (PS5): Fully supported.
  • Switch Pro Controller: Partial support. Menu navigation is broken, but playable.
  • Steam Deck: Does not work on Linux build, might work under Proton. I have no way of testing it.

My camera is turning on it's own! (Gyro Drift)
Put your controller down on a flat surface and hold down the calibration button for a second or two (click the touchpad by default) without moving the controller.
To avoid this next time, leave the controller down while launching the game. It calibrates automatically on every launch.

This is the first mod I've ever made, so be nice. Feel free to report any problems you run into :)

Nevermind the last bit of that. HastyControls 0.4.1 has a reset button now.

@JamesTripleQ The only change to defaults should be that "AutoLook Vertical Strength" now defaults to 0 to make recentering vertically easier on gyro. You'd just have to adjust that one setting.
If you actually want to reset your settings you can open regedit, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Landfall\Haste and delete stuff as needed.

oh one more question: I noticed that in the latest update you changed some default settings, are those changes reflected automatically or do I need to reset my settings file somehow? and if so how would I do that/where is that file?

ah ok yes turns out I wasn't disabling steam input correctly. also with it disabled I see what you mean about the menus. I mostly cared about the rumble feature added by this mod actually so it's no big deal.

@JamesTripleQ Are you sure you don't have a remapper like Steam Input/reWASD/BetterJoy on? On my end gyro works, but the game itself has a broken implementation and the menu doesn't quite work (I can't access the settings for example)

@Telekinetique Very fair. I personally find it confusing but I can see how some would prefer that (especially Splatoon players). I'll consider adding it once I have the time.

Pretty fun, but the lack of a button that resets the gyro to the neutral position makes it feel a bit clunky to me

so I tested it on my own and the menus actually work well (or at least just as well as the vanilla ones) but gyro doesn't seem to work at all
