Save File
To use the save file, follow these steps:
  • Create a new game in your second save slot then quit the game when it saves.
  • Download the file from this Google Drive link[drive.google.com].
  • Navigate to the following directory:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\(your steam id)\2134320\remote\saves\steam\(another id)\
  • Paste the downloaded file into the folder and replace the old save.
  • When you launch your game, the new save will appear as the second save slot.
If you mess up, simply close the game and re-paste the file.

[NOTE] A commenter, ShutaStella, has mentioned setting the save file to read only mode will allow you to alt-f4 without worrying about the save being overwritten allowing you to bypass having to re-paste the file.

@ShutaStella thanks for the tip! I added it to the guide.

linux saves dont seem to be compatible with windows ones so youd have to make your own by going to the river, exiting, going to ~/.local/share/Steam/userdata/922866993/2134320/remote/saves/steam/76561198883132721 (even if your game is on a different partition) and copying it from there

Guys, if you put the save data file in read-only mode then the file doesn't get overwritten when you fall in the river. Then you can just Alt f4 without worrying about the file getting saved.

Also, quick Mac alternative to alt+f4 is command+Q!

Note for anyone playing on Mac: go to Go > Go to Folder, and then type in “~/Library/Application Support/Steam/userdata/“ (and then navigate the folders like you would on windows)

@ClippityClap you can try renaming it to save_0 but I’m pretty sure it has to be the second one

does it need to be the second save?
