TFC Installer for UE2-UE3
This tool allows you to install texture packs and game patches created with UPK Explorer for UE2-UE3

This tool is compatible with most Unreal Engine 2/3 games (and their DLCs) and currently does the following:
  • Injects textures and other modifications via texture packs / game patches (generated by UPK Explorer for UE2-UE3)
  • Automatically disables SHA Checks in certain games' exe upon installing a texture pack.
  • Backs up the original UPKs for risk-free installation and uninstallation of mods.
  • Maintains UPK package compression upon installing a texture pack, reducing the space taken up on your drive.
  • Easily uninstalls mods with a click of a button and restores the backed up UPK, should a user change their mind.

Requirements:
You will need .Net runtime 6 installed your computer to use this tool
.Net runtime 6

How to use:
1. Set your game folder

Ex: D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\[YourGame]\

2. Set your mod folder

Open the folder where your mod is stored. This will be the folder with a GameProfile.xml inside. If it is contained in a zip or rar archive, make sure to extract it first.

3. Install the mod

Once you have selected the, it will detect if the mod also affects DLCs, and which DLCs you have installed.
Depending on this you will have one or more "Update xxx" button, where xxx is either the main game or one of the DLCs. If you wish to update the game and any DLCs you have, "Update All" is the recommended option.

HD Texture Pack

This mod is a texture pack that contains 3500+ upscaled textures, getting rid of a lot of pixelated textures and enhancing fine details.
Most diffuse and specular textures have been upscaled x2 or x4, depending on content and original resolution.
Includes all types of textures (environment, objects, characters, adverts, etc...) except the UI which is not stored as textures.

About 75% of Bioshock 2 Remastered (2016) textures are actually x2 upscale from the original game (2010).
These have been re-upscaled using the original 2010 textures to provide better quality, as the upscale tools available now provide much better results than the tools that were available back in 2016.
The remaining 25% of the textures were remade by hand for the 2016 remastered, and have been upscaled in this mod.

Compatibility
  • This mod should be compatible with all editions of Bioshock 2 Remastered (2016)
  • This mod is not compatible with the original Bioshock 2 (2010).
  • Includes upscaled textures for Minerva's Den DLC
  • Other mods that modify game textures should be installed after this one if you want their textures to show ingame.

Installation
Unzip, then use TFC Installer for UE2-UE3, version 2.3.8.0 or above. Older versions are not compatible.
The instructions are on the TFC installer mod page.

Laser Crosshair
Gave the Ion Laser crosshair to the Rivet Gun, Hack Tool, Machine Gun, Shotgun, Spear Gun, and Launcher and scaled it down to 75% of its original size. Also scaled down the Drill and Hack Tool (no valid target) crosshairs.

Install:
Go to the BioShock 2 Remastered\ContentBaked\pc\FlashMovies folder and backup the sharedlibrary.swf file there. Then extract the provided sharedlibrary.swf file to the same folder.

Uninstall:
Replace sharedlibrary.swf with the file you backed up, or validate your game files.
Visual fixes
This mod aims to fix some issues created in the Remaster version, mostly UV mapping and texture's problems.

Install:
1) Download and open TFC Installer (available in Nexus Mods);
2) Select the folder where the game is installed;
3) Select the folder where you placed the mod file;
4) Finally, click to install.

IMPORTANT:
If you plan to use the HD texture pack, you must install it first, them install the "Visual fixes" last.

Fullscreen Cutscenes
The "Widescreen" black bars in Bioshock 2 aren't nearly as obnoxious as the ones in Bioshock, but I still don't see any need for them to be there. They don't give you a wider aspect ratio, they just create the illusion of it by obstructing how much of the screen you can actually see.

NOTE:
This mod requires replacing the file HUDPC.swf in the FlashMovies folder with my one. This means any existing HUD mods you have installed will be overwritten. For this reason I've included instructions for how to modify your own HUDPC.swf file to achieve the same results while retaining any existing mods you might already have installed.

Remove Stupid Press Blah to Skip Prompt from Cutscenes
Removes the stupid "Press B/Esc to Skip" prompt from the pre-rendered cutscenes.

Repositioned and Recolored GPS Arrow
Moves the big quest arrow to the right side of the screen. Also changes the emissive color (Optional)

Troubleshooting
HD Texture Pack
  • Some game assets will still look low resolution. These meshes were mapped using very small parts of their textures and would need to be reworked.
  • Not every textures were created equal. Some have given better results than others.
  • Very low resolution text, once upscaled, will turn into alien text. No one knows what it means. Don't try to read it, and you will be fine.
  • I have not tested the full game. I have already fixed a lot of problems before release, but if you encounter any major problems, please post in the comments.
