Scholar of the Flames

A guide with images to the locations of the tomes required for the "Scholar of the Flames" achievement since current 100% achievement guides are lacking these specifics.

The initial mural "A mural depicting two lifelong friends meeting for the first time..." is listed as a tome here, but not the other ones, so I do not know if it is erroneously listed. I included it in the guide anyway to be safe.

Weekly Update

This is found in the entrance chamber, before the arrow puzzle

Changing Times

After the puzzle, directly ahead of you is a blank mural in front of a large sphere (has an image if you completed this temple already). It is next to this mural.

A Collection of Selected Haikus

In the same chamber as the last one, go to the far west side (opposite the hallway of maze rooms) and climb to the top. It is on the left hand side here.

So the wiki lists this as a tome, but it's inaccessible if you've already completed the temple. it also isn't truly a tome, so I am not sure if this is required for the achievement or not. To be on the safe side, though, I am putting it here anyway.

Demanding without Meaning

In the first maze room, go to the right, turn left, and turn left immediately again. It's close to the entrance.

Experiment Log

Hug the left wall when entering until you see a mineable stone in a hole in the wall. Mine the stone and the tome is in this hidden room.

Pieces Falling into Place

This is after the third maze, in the room with torches. The tome is next to the large brazier.

Forewarning

In the final room, after the second arrow puzzle hang to the right to find this tome. It is before the leap of faith.

If Achievement Still Did Not Pop....

The achievement should pop. The wiki listing that mural has me worried that all murals are required as well. If that is the case, try going back to the main chamber and interacting with each mural that is around the large sphere in the center of the room.

If that STILL doesn't work, I think you're justified using SAM since it's likely bugged. It was bugged about a year ago, but allegedly patched. It popped for me during a revisit and I did not need to interact with the murals in the center of the room.

It occurred to me that not everyone knows what SAM is. It's short for Steam Achievement Manager (You can find it by googling this name). It's a program that locks or unlocks achievements for your games. I personally only use it for games where the achievement is bugged and I am POSITIVE that I did everything required. This does not, however, get you the in-game "accomplishment" and attached renown.

Been playing since closed beta and just today realized I didn't have this achievement. I went through your guide to make sure I had all of them and am quite upset that I have read them all but not gotten the achievement.

SAM is Steam Achievement Manager. It hacks in achievements. Totally justified if you legitimately did everything.

I tried yesterday 26/4/25 with PC and today with switch and still no achievement. Literally ran the temple with a friend and they got it and I didn't. The guide however is brilliant thank you.

Honestly, I'd say you're justified using SAM or something if you've legitimately done everything. But still push for the in- game acknowledgement and rewards.

Sadly 22nd April 2025 and this is still bugged for me, have watched a few videos to make sure I got and read everything, I sent in a ticket regarding this issue a few months ago but have never had any replies, I started playing Palia as a Closed Beta player.. I still live in hope that it gets fixed as I'm stuck on 51/52 achievements.. IGN: Grumpy Koala
