how to mod skyrim with vortex
1. Install Vortex
Download Vortex: Go to the Nexus Mods website and download the Vortex Mod Manager.

Install Vortex: Run the installer and follow the instructions to install it on your computer.

2. Set up Vortex for Skyrim
Launch Vortex: After installation, open Vortex.

Log in to Nexus Mods: If you have a Nexus Mods account, log in to access your downloaded mods and mod manager features.

Select Skyrim in Vortex: Vortex should automatically detect the game if it's installed. If not, click on the "Games" tab and manually add Skyrim to Vortex.

Configure Game Path: If it doesn’t automatically detect Skyrim, go to "Settings" and manually select the game’s installation folder.

3. Download Mods
Browse for Mods: Visit the Skyrim Nexus (for Skyrim Special Edition) or the Skyrim page (for the older version) on Nexus Mods and find mods you want to install.

Download Mods via Vortex: If you’re logged in to Nexus Mods, you can click on the “Download with Manager” button on mod pages. Vortex will download and manage the mod for you.

4. Install Mods in Vortex
Download and Install: Once your mods are downloaded, go to Vortex, and you should see them in the "Downloads" section.

Install the Mods: Click the "Install" button next to each mod you want to install. Vortex will install them for you.

5. Enable and Deploy Mods
Enable the Mods: Once a mod is installed, you can enable it by clicking the "Enable" button in Vortex.

Deploy Mods: After enabling mods, click the "Deploy Mods" button at the top right to apply the changes to your game.

6. Order Mods (if necessary)
Load Order: Some mods require a specific load order to work properly. Vortex will automatically sort mods for you, but you can also adjust the load order manually by going to the "Plugins" tab and dragging mods into the correct position.

7. Test Your Game
Run Skyrim: After installing and deploying your mods, launch Skyrim through Vortex or through your preferred method (such as Steam or a desktop shortcut).

Check for Stability: Make sure everything works properly and test for stability. If any mod causes issues, you can easily disable or uninstall it through Vortex.

8. Troubleshooting
Conflicts: Vortex will warn you if there are conflicts between mods. You can use the "Conflict Resolution" tool to manage these.

Mod Load Order: If you're experiencing crashes or other issues, double-check the mod load order and ensure that you’ve followed the mod author’s instructions.

Additional Tips:
Back Up Saves: Always back up your save files before installing mods, especially if you're installing a large number of mods.

Use SKSE (Skyrim Script Extender): Some mods require SKSE. You can install it through Vortex as well, just make sure to follow the mod’s instructions.

Check for Updates: Regularly check for updates to your mods and Vortex itself to ensure compatibility and stability.
