>>> Introduction <<<
>>> Understanding The Ultimate <<<
Magneto's ultimate is deceptively complicated; to get the most value out of it, you'll need a good understanding of how it works and enough precision.

The main use for Meteor M is to counter other ultimates, but it can also be used to stall on a point or to protect your teammates using your magnetic field in a pinch.
Prerequisite Information
You'll be dealing with 2 important variables, which are:
- The duration you hold your ultimate for
- The charge gained by absorbing damage with your magnetic field

Example:

Here, you can see a duration of 75%
(i.e. three quarters of the circle have elapsed)

The meter below shows the amount of charge gained, which is 25

The resulting explosion would deal 325 damage upon direct hit.

Note regarding Luna Snow:
Ask your team to shoot off her shield before or while ulting, that way you can use a 275 HP combo to one-shot Luna in her ultimate, which is more reliable than the 525 HP combos.

Bonus Tips
  • Bind your descend key to something you can easily reach, that way you can close the distance between yourself and mobile characters for easier line-ups during your flight
    Without descending:
    While descending:

  • The projectile launches slightly above your crosshair; I recommend practicing your aim on this flying bot in the practice range by the Ultimate Charge area

  • When countering a smart strategist, they'll start strafing wildly the moment they hear your ultimate. You can attempt to fake them out by looking away from them (like you're targeting another enemy), then turning at the last second to eliminate them

  • When ulting in an enclosed space, always watch for low doorways or structures that could block your ultimate

  • When countering Starlord, wait for him to use his dashes before launching your projectile at him (if you know he's going to dodge)

  • Never use your bubble right before your ult, it would be a waste since you're already absorbing damage for yourself and everyone around you
    (notice the purple magnetic field protecting the bots on low health)

  • Don't try to go for multi-kills, aim for one person and do your best to land a direct hit
    (if other enemies just so happen to be close enough to your target, you might get multiple eliminations from the splash damage)
Thank You!
Thanks for reading my guide.
I hope you learned something, good luck with culling those pesky supports.

solid! thank you :KCSmile:

also, it is sometimes worth it to shield yourself before your ult when you're low as there are still enemies that can damage you in your ult that do not use projectiles or luna snow iirc

pretty good guide, but I'd like to add that hitting multi ults is worth aiming for depending on the situation, for example cocky enemies within invis ult and choke points, especially if the enemies are already damaged.

That is true; but most of the time (unless you're really low and aren't backed up by your healers AND up against those specific enemies that can damage you in your ultimate) you would never want to use your bubble unnecessarily, since that is your most valuable cooldown.
