Ultimate Infamy 50 Cheese Build
By Darksic
Become a dashing nuke who obliterates everything within your radius! This build revolves around the Steam Boots object along with any AoE damage and dash objects while prioritizing dash, crit damage, damage, and AoE range upgrades. This build is optimal with any character (Chaos needing more luck and strategizing on the whim) and will easily defeat level 50 infamy.

Set up: Black Market Upgrades and Character Selection
Black market upgrades are not required, but they do help significantly. Specifically, the "Lost and Found Goods" and "Fidelity Chest" are highly recommended as they help find items quicker. Only buy one "Lost and Found Goods" as buying a second does not seem to do anything. The "Lucky Star" and "Blessed Ring" upgrades are also favorable.

Select any character you wish to use. Although this build works with any character, some characters' starting items help you out considerably in the early game (i.e. Ernesto with Onion and Roger with Golden Loaded Die). If you have a second controller around, you can plug it in and have Roger selected as a second character to utilize his starting item permanently throughout the run. It does not matter if Roger perishes off the bat, the Golden Loaded Die will still have effect.

Objects and Upgrades
Key Item
This build utilizes dash and AoE damage objects with the key object being the Steam Boots.

Always pick Steam Boots when it is an option. Although it is very much possible to win without it, it makes your run much easier. Steam Boots allows for faster dash spam and recovery.

Dash and AoE Damage Objects

Your auto-attacks are useless in the mid-game and onward. Most of your dps will come from Dash and AoE damage objects. When picking up a chest, give priority to those objects said prior. Do not pick up any object that gives affect to auto-attacks or attack speed.

Favored Objects

Dash Recovery Objects:
  • Ninja Headband
  • After Image
  • Active Recovery
  • Surprise Attack

*Note: Avoid objects "Counterfeit Gold Nugget" and "Soothing Escape" as they add base cooldown to your dash recovery. Without these objects, and with enough cooldown reduction upgrades, your dashes should recover almost instantly.

Dash AoE Objects:
  • Parting Gift
  • Hero Landing
  • Shockwave
  • Booby Trap
  • Chakra

AoE damage Objects:
  • Onion
  • Channeling Wand
  • Seismic Dance
  • Thunder Dance

If you are not presented with any of these objects listed, pick Die Objects, objects which give you health, or other AoE/passive objects. These objects should help prolong survivability or help you obtain more helpful objects. Once again, do not choose objects which affect your auto-attack/attack speed.

Other Useful Objects:
  • Bronze/Silver/Golden/Obsidian/Rubis/Godly Die
  • Emergency Kit
  • Valiant Heart
  • Tesla Field
  • Intimidating Reward
  • Plot Armor
  • Faithfull
  • Far Sight
  • Skeleton Key
  • Soul Soothing Reward
  • Uncanny Dodge
  • Relentless Momentum
  • Taunt (Only pick if certain about survivability)
  • Any health increasing objects

*Note: Inner Strength is not recommended for this build as you will always be dashing.

Upgrades

Favorable Upgrades

The majority of your upgrades will be funneled into:
  • AoE Range Increase
  • Critical Damage Increase
  • Damage Increase
  • Cooldown Reduction

The sweet spot for AoE Range is around 400% and Cooldown Reduction at around 40-30%. Once those are reached, dump the rest of the upgrades into damage.

For health, you would want to sustain at least 4-5 hits before dying. At infamy 50, this would be at least 16 or 21 health points. Ideally, your health should be at intervals of 5 + 1 at infamy 50.

Dash and speed upgrades should always be chosen up until you are comfortable with what you have. Nine dashes are plenty, and you gain more dashes through objects.

Always choose the increase of choices upgrade whenever it is present. This helps find relevant upgrades and objects.

Unfavorable Upgrades

Crit Chance is not favorable to choose, especially if you have the "Surprise Attack" object which essentially gives you 100% crit chance at all times. If the run is nearing the final boss and you do not have "Surprise Attack," use your final level ups to have at least 25% crit chance.

Do not choose Attack Speed, Bounce, or Pierce upgrades for the majority of the run. However, they may be chosen in the very beginning to help you defeat deputies to get treasure chests for objects or enemies to level up. Other than for those reasons, avoid choosing the mentioned upgrades.
Early Game
The start to the first boss is the hardest point of your run. The main objective is to just survive and get as many favorable objects as you can. Once you obtain a couple or a few favorable objects, you're basically set to snowball the rest of the run.

Do what is necessary to survive.
Do not be discouraged in picking unfavorable upgrades. Pick whichever upgrade to ensure your survival in the early game and to get through your first deputies.

Any AoE/dash damage object would significantly help you destroy hordes of enemies and reach deputies stuck in between groups. It is very important you obtain a favorable object in the first couple chests, otherwise the next couple deputies will be difficult to kill before the first boss.

Always save a couple dashes to ensure your escape from tight spaces and projectiles.
Mid-Game and Onward
Once you have collected the "Steam Boots," or a good amount of dashes, with at least 1 AoE damage object and decent cooldown reduction, spam your dashes! That will be the rest of your run.

Spam your dashes through enemies.

Make sure to land yourself far enough from enemies so that your dashes recharge in time for another dash spam. You would not want to land near any enemies or projectiles especially when i-frames are significantly reduced at infamy 50.

Collect coins as you dash spam and level up favorable upgrades. Soon enough your radius would be huge and cooldown will nearly be instant!

With your large number of dashes, you are invincible for a considerable amount of time. Do not be afraid to dash through bosses again and again. Just make sure you land at a distance so you can recharge.

If you are playing with a second controller with Roger, you can use him to choose unfavorable objects to remove them from the object pool. You can also use roger to select Die objects as they are shared between all players.

Chaos
Chaos' starting item makes it very difficult to choose favorable objects, and sometimes makes players unintentionally choose run-ending objects. This character definitely takes a lot of luck and trial/error.

Run-ending Objects

  • Reckless Rush

Reckless Rush damages you each time you dash which essentially makes you a glass cannon. You are always one-hit from death.

  • Soothing Escape

Soothing Escape adds 30 seconds to base dash cooldown. With any other character, this object does not outright trash the run. But with uncertainty in obtaining objects such as After Image and Ninja Headband, Soothing Escape adds too much cooldown to your dashes.

  • Caduceus Symbol

Caduceus Symbol allows cooldown effects to take 50% more time to trigger. This is such a massive de-buff to your cooldown reduction and future upgrades to it. It makes dashes charge much slower.

If you obtain any of these items in the early game, it is highly recommended to start a new run as these items hinders the player significantly, especially when the character is weak.

Strategy

Always try choosing the epic-tiered object in hope of getting the Steam Boots. Once it is obtained, do not choose epic-tiered objects for the rest of the run. If you obtain a run-ending object in the early game or when you are not confident in your ability to survive, then restart the run. There are more favorable common-tiered objects than there are rare/legendary objects. Take this into account when choosing objects.

Good Luck!
