Guide how to upload screenshots without interface in Palia

I had a problem: I wanted to upload beautiful screenshots to the Screenshots tab, but the Palia game interface was getting in the way, making the pictures not so atmospheric. Unfortunately, standard screenshots via F12 save the entire interface, and you can't remove it manually before uploading.

In this guide I will tell you how to take clean screenshots without UI, where to find them and how to correctly add them to the “Screenshots” tab in Steam.🦋

Screenshot without UI

First, you need to take screenshots on the in-game camera via K on the keyboard or R1 --> Y on the joystick. 🎮

Saved screenshots

The screenshots will appear in the game folder. The path to the game folder with screenshots:

C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Local\Palia\Saved\Screenshots\WindowsClient

*Note: to quickly open AppData\Local, you can press the Windows+R shortcut and in the window that appears, type %localappdata% and press Enter.

Image extension

Click RMB (right mouse button) on the selected screenshot and select “Properties”. Here you need to see what file extension the screenshot has because you need a .jpg extension to continue.

*Note: I think they all have a .png extension by default

You can change the file extension using Adobe Photoshop by opening your screenshot in the program and saving it as .jpg

Uploading a screenshot to Steam

Now you need to copy/cut (CTRL+C/CTRL+X) and paste (CTRL+V) the .jpg screenshot into two different folders (“screenshots” and “thumbnails”).

To quickly find the folders you need, in the Steam client, at the top click on View --> Recordings and Screenshots tab. Click RMB (right mouse button) on the screenshot from Palia and click “Show on Disk”. This will open a folder with a similar path:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\your_account_ID\760\remote\2707930\screenshots. 

In this folder you should paste your screenshot in .jpg extension.

There you will also find a folder called “thumbnails”. Open this folder and paste your screenshot there as well in .jpg extension.

Restart Steam

Now you need to restart Steam. After restarting, your screenshot without interface will appear in View --> Records and Screenshots tab. 🦋🐈
