Introduction

Achievement Breakdown: (21)
Character: (6)
Challenge: (2)
Miscellaneous: (13)

Castle of no Escape 2 is basically the exact same premise as the previous title in the series except it's a significant bump in complexity and detail. You're tasked to explore a tower composed of 6x6 squares containing unknown enemies, traps, loot, and vendors to ultimately kill the final boss. As you can guess, the game heavily depends on RNG mechanics as each room's contents are randomized on each run. This gives each run a unique feel but can at times be punishing. Each run can feel quite long, but luckily there are a multitude of cheat codes that can help speed up your progress.

As the game is RNG-dependent, getting all achievements may take a few runs.

There are no DLC or missable achievements.
Keep These In Mind

Achievements: 10
Challenge: 2
Miscellaneous: 8

Achievement #1:
I kinda like this place
Play more than 10 hours

Simply play the game for 10 hours. This achievement bugged out for me and I got it within my first couple hours of playing the game.

Achievement #2:
Cheap plastic imitation
Collect the false sword

When in the character selection screen, you should see 3 digits in the bottom left of your screen. Use the DPad-Up and Down buttons on your controller to change the digits and "X" (on an Xbox controller) to change the digits. Make them equal to 666. When you start the game, you should have all the pieces of the false sword and the achievement should pop.

Achievement #3:
Who needs an armor?
Don't pick up an armor

Beat the game without picking up armor. Use the following cheat code to spawn in as Bandit with buffs except for armor:
DPad-Up + DPad-Down + View + View + View + View + DPad-Left + View + A + DPad-Up + DPad-Up + DPad-Up + DPad-Left

Now simply look for the pentagram-style design on the ground and interact with it via "X" on your controller and kill the boss.

NOTE:
All the following achievements can be obtained while grinding out the character-specific achievements. I've simply put this section before the character section so that you're aware of them and can keep an eye out for them while doing the other achievements.

Achievement #4:
What's next?
Collect all the gems and a sword, then use an orb

Achievement #5:
Who needs a shield
Don't pick up a shield

The gems and sword be given automatically when following the Guardian's cheat code achievement flow found in the "Character" section below. Ctrl+F for the "What's that horn for?" achievement to view his code. Orbs spawn in randomly in the run. Simply run through the different rooms and interact with one when you find it. They appear on pedestals in the center of rooms.

In addition, the cheat codes provided in this guide do not spawn you with a shield, so "Who needs a shield" should come naturally after beating the boss.

Achievement #6:
Armor 2.0
Upgrade an armor with emblems

Using the ritual codes for your favorite character found in the "Character" section below, your goal is to find an anvil. During your search, kill as many enemies as you can in order to get the orange upgrade tokens. Use the trick of leaving one enemy alive in a room and then exit/re-enter to get the enemies to respawn.

Once you find the anvil, interact with it and spend one point on any of the speed, skill, or defense stats. You'll need to repair your armor to max first (assuming you took any damage that is). Spending the upgrade token on any of the three stat boosts will get you this achievement.

Achievement #7:
Fast legs
Always leave any room in 30 seconds

While grinding out the character achievements, this is an easy one to snag along the way. Just be sure to leave any room you enter within 30 seconds. You're safe to enter rooms you've already been to, so long as you leave any room within the time limit.

Achievement #8:
Friendship wins
Don't kill any monsters (including the fallen hero)

Avoid killing any trash mobs while you search for the boss. You will most likely get this and the "Fast legs" achievement together. Use the cheat codes found in the following "Character" section to speed through these.

Achievement #9:
I know the way
Don't use the crystal orbs

After spawning with a character via the cheat codes found in the "Character" section below, use the strategy of searching the nearby rooms for signs of the boss and quitting/restarting the run if it's not close by. I generally gave up after searching 10ish rooms and restarted the run. You can of course choose to stick with the run and search the floor/tower entirely if you so choose. Killing the boss without using any orb will grant you this achievement.

Achievement #10:
Untouchable
Complete the game with no damage

This is easily the most frustrating achievement in the game and it's due to the boss's RNG attacks during the fireball phase. You could have done everything perfectly up to that point but if the odds aren't in your favor then you'll be presented with an un-dodgeable fireball served to your character on a silver platter- entirely voiding the run and forcing a restart.

I recommend using either Champion or Bandit for this achievement as they are the best characters in the game. Try your best to memorize the general attack patterns of the boss but when it comes down to the fireball phase, it's totally up in the air for how that goes and I can't really provide any tips as it comes down to being lucky.

Here is a video using Champion to take down the boss:

Achievements: 16
Character: 6

All the character achievements require you to beat the final boss with a specific character. Luckily, you can significantly speed up the time it takes to gear up your characters by performing specific cheat codes. I'll go over which cheat codes you need to do before entering the game under each achievement.

Upon performing the proper cheat code and entering the game, explore the immediate area around where you spawned and look for a pentagram-looking shape on the ground. Interacting with this (press X on an XBox controller) will spawn the boss which has a few phases to the fight (each getting progressively harder).

This is a great opportunity to practice fighting the boss and learning its mechanics as you work your way through the different characters. There is an achievement later on for beating the boss without taking damage which is easily the most frustrating achievement to get in the game as the boss's fireball phase is very RNG-dependent and can ruin your run.

Here is an excellent description of how the ritual (cheat codes) work by Xitilon who is also one of the creators of the game!

NOTE:
If you don't encounter the pentagram-looking shape on the ground within the first handful of rooms, it's probably easier to restart the run entirely so that the rooms get re-rolled.

Monster Kills

Achievements: 21
Miscellaneous: 13

Achievement #17:
666 kills
Exactly this

Achievement #18:
Reincarnated millionaire
Collect 10,000 gold

Achievement #19:
Phantom gold
Allow the phantom to steal 10,000 gold

You need to kill 666 monsters in total across all your runs combined. This achievement can easily be grinded out in a single run by using the cheat codes listed in the previous section for your favorite character. I also recommend doing this in a single run as you can get "Reincarnated millionaire" at the same time. Your goal is to find a room with a large number of enemies and kill all but one. Then leave and re-enter it. This causes all the monsters to respawn. If you kill all the monsters in the room, then it will remain clear for the rest of the run. Do not do this.

Repeat this process until the achievement pops. Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to grind it out. You should also have gotten "Reincarnated millionaire" during this grind.

Once you have 10k gold, you need to look for the phantom (a shadow that moves across the room). The phantom can spawn in any room including ones you've been to before. If you see it, it'll take all the gold in your inventory. Your character should be quite powerful if you've used the cheat codes so you could either clear out two rooms of all the monsters and walk between the two until the phantom spawns, or go exploring across other rooms. Eventually, the phantom will spawn and take your money, granting you this achievement.

Achievement #20:
I didn't do nothing!
Watch 50 enemies die from traps

Achievement #21:
I didn't do nothing! Seriously!
Watch 100 enemies die from traps

You don't need to use the cheat codes to spawn a powerful character for these achievements as you'll be playing passively. Find a room full of traps and at least a handful of monsters that aggro on you. Wait by the door and let the monsters walk into the traps and die. Leave the room before all the monsters in the room die, otherwise, it'll be permanently cleared out for the remainder of the run. Re-entering the room where at least one enemy was remaining will respawn all enemies, allowing you to redo the process over again. Do this until the achievements pop.
Conclusion
Congratulations on getting 100% achievements!
