Introduction
Getting Started!

So you have just started playing ANUERYISM VI for the first time, have joined your first server and are getting your bearings.

Congratulations! You are a Prole. A Wagie, a Normie, a Basic B!tch, pretty much you are the most common type of Fate in the game. What is a Fate? Well it is your Job or Role in the World but we will get to that later.

For now you might be wondering what to do? You may see a couple Tasks at the top of the screen but some of these are hard to understand. Some aspects of the World and Gameplay are not explained to you at all, so how about we start with that?

Basic Mechanics

  • Blood (Health)
If this reaches 0 you die. Running out of Hunger or Thirst will also cause you to lose this. Can be restored at Autostitchers which can be found in Infirmaries, for a price of course... Several other consumable items can also restore it.

  • Nourishment (Hunger)
Not starving to death is one of the main concerns of any Prole. Always keep an eye on this, it can drop quicker then you might expect. Rations are the main way to stave this off, but if you're willing to take the risk plenty of stuff you may find in the garbage may be able to help with it as well.

  • Moisture (Thirst)
Drops quicker then Nourishment, but there are more options to restore it. A quick soda break does wonders. Many sources of food (like Rations) also restore it.

  • Sanity (Mind)
This one is a bit iffy. Sanity can seem to drop randomly but generally eating or drinking will help restore it. Unlike other stats having it reach 0 won't kill you outright, but can still cause problems.

  • Air (Stamina)
Mainly used for sprinting, try not to waste it all as you never know when you may need to make a run for it.

Crafting
Around the City you can find various Crafting Benches which you can use to make stuff using the junk you can gather or create. I will not go into great detail over it here but many of the bits of junk you can find while scavenging can come in handy.

Currencies

ANEURYSM VI has two forms of currency, Credits and Anamnecyte, both of which are earned by performing various Jobs around the City.

Credits are the most basic of the two, used to buy food, resources, housing and many other things. You will need this to survive in the City.

Anamnecyte can be considered more of a meta-currency. It is used to access the various 'Fates' the game has to offer, which can be considered its Roles or Professions. In order to become these various Fates you will need a certain amount of Anamnecyte to do so, and some Fates are required to access others as well.
Points of Interest in the City.
Before you get to working, it's a good idea to have an idea of where to find what around the City and how to use it. Keep in mind that the City can be very mazelike, so taking some time to explore it is a good idea. Just try not to get lost. Two things to understand about this game is that anything that doesn't cost you money either is only available for a limited time or comes with a risk.

Drinking Fountains & Water Taps
These can be found around the City usually along main streets, near work stations or inside of Bars & other buildings. When interacted with they provide you with a boost to your thirst (moisture). BUT BE CAREFUL! When drinking from them there is a chance they can also give you a stomach parasite, which will periodically cause you to take damage and distort your screen. This can be cured with varieties of medicine found at Pharmacilities, but that costs money. I suggest only drinking from these if you are on the verge of reaching max thirst.

Cortex Nexuses
While looking around the City you may see big arched entry ways ominously lit by blue light. DO NOT GO NEAR THESE! Cortex Nexuses are the domain of the Limitators and the Controllers, not lowly Proles like you. (Limitators and Controllers are the guys with guns who look like Cops & SWAT.) If you try and cross the entry way you will be instantly gunned down by a turret, there is no way to avoid this. Best to just avoid these areas entirely, trust me.

Dumpsters & Garbage Cans
As a lowly Prole you're not above rummaging through the garbage, don't lie to yourself. In fact you can find a number of useful items hidden in the trash, so it's almost always worth taking a peak inside! Keep in mind that the more active a server is, the harder it will be to find Dumpsters with stuff inside them, as there will be more players looking to rummage through the rubbish just like you are.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is a list of some of the stuff you can find in Dumpsters and what best to use them for:
[list
  • Pipe
PIPE IS LIFE! This simple piece of metal piping is one of the most useful things you can find while scavenging as a Prole. It can be used in two of the four tasks available to you. Always a valuable find. If you can't get your hands on one, it might be worth buying one of these off of someone else. If you have better equipment, consider giving this to a less fortunate Prole.

  • Wood
A basic crafting ingredient used in the construction of a few items. It's worth keeping at least one of these on you as it's required to make a tool very useful for a Task later on.

  • Plastic
Another basic crafting material, usually used for making containers or Jerrycans.

  • Circuit Board
A rarer piece of material, used for crafting. You might be able to sell this to the right vendor for a good amount of credits.

  • Glue
Used for crafting. DO NOT SNIFF THIS! You WILL regret it.

  • Cancer Pod
Might seem useless but can be used at the Fuel Refinery for the creation of Bio-Fuel, required for the operation of the machinery there. Don't leave this stuff lying around, if you don't need it leave it in the trash where you found it.

  • Pot
It's a pot. With soil, it can be used for growing food in your home/apartment. Once you get one of those anyway. Besides that, not very useful.

  • Soil
A bag of dirt. See above.

  • Machine Parts
Used in the crafting process of many mechanical items. Somewhat useful.

  • Dumpster Rat
OH ♥♥♥♥, A RAT! Not very useful to you but useful to some. DO NOT EAT IT!

  • Dented Food Can
Can restore some hunger when eaten but has a chance of being bad. If you bring it to a stove it can be more useful.

  • Jerrycan
Required for taking fuel from the Fuel Refinery and powering the Generator at the Steel Factory.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vending Machines
These can be found all over the City at various areas. One of the easiest, safest ways to restore thirst and sanity, but at a cost of course. Offers, 3 options: A4 Original, A4 Premium, A4 Sui soda.

In my opinion A4 Premium is almost always worth getting over A4 Original as it restores a significant amount more and is usually only a bit more expensive. Even if you are not that thirsty yet just buy the Premium and use it later. Don't buy Sui soda, unless you wanna die.

Lockers
Lockers can be found all over the City, and can be used to safely store items. All Lockers connect, so what you put in one you'll find in all of them. To use a Locker, simply stand directly infront of one, and drop any item from your inventory you might want to put inside of it. Keep in mind the Locker has a storage weight limit, so if you pass that limit, any other items will simply be dropped on the floor infront of you, so pick wisely what you decide is worth keeping.

Pharmacilities & Infirmaries
If you are sick or bleeding head to these places. Infirmaries can be visited to help you get your blood back, and Pharmacilities have medicine which can cure stomach sickness, mania & other things. Of course, both of these cost money, so hope you've got some. They won't always have stuff in stock though, so keep an eye out for any Corpsmen nearby.

Civil Centers
You can get food here.

Civil Terminals
You can get paid here.
Events
Stuff can happen while you're doing your Job, some Events are periodic, others random, others triggered by other Players. Here's a basic guide to what is what. Most Events (or Cycles) are announced over in game Speakers which can be heard at various points around the map.

War
If you see this blue bomb at the bottom of your screen, that means there's a WAR goin' on buddy! Bombs will randomly drop from the sky, exploding and likely killing anyone unfortunate enough to be nearby. As such, it's a good idea to stay indoors during this Event. Or better yet, head to the War Time Factory to earn some cash!

Pay Cycle
Time to earn some cash! If you've been a good little Prole and have done your Work you'll earn Credits. Head to the nearest Civil Terminal to redeem them quickly.

Ration Cycle
Be quick to act on this one as it usually only lasts 10 to 15 minutes. One of the safest and easiest ways to get food quickly. Don't be so quick to eat it either, you never know when the next ration cycle might come around. Best hope someone has been stocking the Ration Factory as well, or you'll get nothing...

Darkness
If your vision suddenly starts to go red, and you see a green symbol at the bottom of your screen... Run, and hide. If you have a home, get to it immediately. Do not approach ANYONE on the streets, even Limitors or other Cortex members. Find somewhere safe, wait for it to blow over, pray you aren't found...
Laundromats
NEVER STOP THE WASH

Two Laundromats can be found on either side of the City, and unlike other Tasks, there's no timeframe as to when you can work it and you don't need any kind of equipment to do so. This comes with the downside of rewarding you with less Credits and Anamnecyte then other Jobs. If you have no other options for doing Tasks when starting off, this can be a decent place to start. Remember there are two Laundry Rooms in the City, so if one is a bit to crowded for your liking consider checking out the other one.

To start simply use the lever near the chute at the end of the room, you'll know the laundry is coming if green text at the bottom right corner of the screen appears saying 'Laundry is on its way.' If it's instead red, just wait a while for it to arrive before trying to get more.

From there it is a simple matter of taking the laundry to the washing machine and closing the lid and waiting for it to finish. You will know it is done when the light on the machine goes green again and you here a ding. Then repeat for a dryer in the same method, before taking the clothes to the table in the middle of the room to fold them, and put them in the basket at the end of the table.

Remember, YOU ONLY EARN ANAMNECYTE AND CREDITS FROM PUTTING THE FOLDED CLOTHES INTO THE LAUNDRY DROPOFF! Anything before that won't earn you any. So, if there are other Proles in the Laundry Room with them, it doesn't matter if they take any clothes out of a machine you might have been using. Work together! You'll be alot more productive and earn alot more working as a team then trying to stab each other the moment someone picks up someone elses pile of dirty clothes.
War Factory
IT'S WAR TIME!

The War Factory is a task only available during a limited period of time.

If you see this appear at the bottom of your screen, with the blue bomb logo, that means it is war time, and it's time for you to move your dirty Prole butt to the War Factory! The War Factory is one of the best ways to make plenty of Credits and Anamnecyte.

To start with, you will need to grab a Screwdriver from the small dispensary in the middle of the room.
BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU SWING THAT THING! The Screwdriver can hurt other players (AND make them bleed) including other Proles, so make sure there's nobody infront of you when using it on the Bombs. Like with the Laundromat, working together instead of trying to stab each other because someobody touched a bomb will earn you alot less (and earn you alot more enemies and cost you alot more blood) over working with the other Proles.

On one side of the room you will see a set of four open containers with boxes full of the components needed to craft the bombs, on the other you will see four tables on which to construct them. Take components from the boxes and drag them over to the tables, whacking them with your screwdrivers to assemble them. The more bombs you make, the more you earn, simple as. You earn Anamnecyte both for delivering the parts and assembling the bomb with the screwdriver, so it is usually good to have a few players doing both.
MetalWorks Factory
COLD HARD STEEL

Time to play some Mine Craft baby because we're making steel! The MetalWorks Factory is a Task with alot of working parts to it. You will generally need to already have some resources to make it work, before you can do anything with it.

To start with, you will need either a Pipe or a Pickaxe. Pipes can be found while scavenging through dumpsters, and Pickaxes can be crafted at crafting benches using Wood and a Metal Ingot. Wood can be found while Scavenging, but Metal Ingots can only be made at the MetalWorks. Sometimes you may find some laying around near the smelters, or if someone is already working there ask them if they could give you one.

Another thing you may need is a Jerrycan, in order to refill the Generator, which is required for operating some of the machinery. A Jerrycan can either be found while scavenging, or can be crafted using 3 pieces of plastic.

To start with, you will need to take this loooong corridor down to the mines outside in the wasteland, careful not to fall off the stairs down there or you'll have a nasty fall...

Now at the bottom, it's time to mine baby. There will be two resource nodes, one giving you metal ore, the other coal. Both are required for the production of steel ingots, so grab some of both. Keep in mind that you have only a certain amount you can carry, and the more you carry, the slower you will move, so usually it will be a slow trip back to the top.

Once you do return though, take that coal and metal ore back to the smelter. The ore goes in the top bucket, and the coal goes in the bottom. Always insert the ore first, as the coal will only burn for a limited time. You will need to wait a short while for the smelter to heat up, but once it does activate the wheel to pour the molten metal out into the steel ingot casts.

You may need to do this multiple times, and it may be a bit finnicky, but soon enough you should have plenty of ingots.

From here you can use the nearby machinery to craft the Ingots into either Steel sheets or Axles, depending on what is needed. Check the container near the SteelWorks, you will likely see several boxes inside of it, listing what materials need to be loaded inside.

You will receive Anamnecytes for loading the right material into each of the boxes, and will receive even more for filling a whole box and then signing off on it. Because of this it's usually a good idea to focus on filling one box at a time and saving your resources especially if working with other Proles.

If the machinery required to make plates and axles ever stops working you may need to refill the Generator near the workshop. To do this, simply take a Jerrycan up to the nearby Biofuel depot, and it should fill automatically. Simply bring this back to the generator and it should refill. You may need to make a few trips. On the off chance the Biofuel stocks are empty, try putting Cancer Pods into it, or wait for a Liquidator to come around and refill it(Liquidators are the guys with big gas masks and flamethrowers).
Ration Factory
The Ration Factory is in my opinion one of the most annoying Tasks to accomplish but also the most vital. If the Ration Factory is not up-kept, it means no Rations will be provided during the ration cycle, so if you wanna get fed you better keep it full!

To do the Task you will need a Pipe, or some other form of weapon.

Go to the Docks by the water nearby the Ration Factory, and wait until you see or hear splashing water. Sometimes the splash can be under the docks, so take a look, but be quick! Once you reach it, SMACK IT WITH YOUR WEAPON! And BAM! You've got a Fish. That's right, Fishing Mechanics? Rods? Nets? Nope, catch that thing with nothing but blunt force trauma.

Once you have it bring it back to the Ration Factory, and drop it into the big circle of spinning blades in the middle... Careful not to fall in yourself. You'll earn Anamnecyte for ingredients dropped into the blades, and help build up the amount of material needed for making Rations.

Once that is done make your way to the Terminals on the other side, you will see a simple math equation on the screen (For Example, 3+2). You will need to press either the 'Plus' or 'Minus' key a number of times equal to the solution of the equation. (Ie, if it shows 4+3, the answer would be 7, so you would need to press the Plus key 7 times. Or if it is 5-2, the answer would be 3, so you would need to press the Minus key 3 times.) Be VERY careful when imputting this. Inputting an incorrect answer will not only cause you to waste your materials, AND lose Health, but you will LOSE ANAMNECYTE!

There are other resources you can feed to the machine to make rations, ones grown at the Greenhouse, but honestly even i do not know how to figure that out yet and i don't even know if the Devs do since there is very little info on the Wiki about it.

One other thing, if the Ration Factory is calling for 'Suspicious Meat' instead, you may want to consider doing a different task... At least until the Liquidators and Limitors have cleaned things up a bit.
What to do Next
If you have managed to survive long enough to make yourself a good amount of Credits and Anamnecyte you may be wondering what to do next with yourself.

There are two options really, either continue on as a Prole or go for a different Fate using the Anamnecyte you have built up for yourself.

Once you have earned enough Credits a prole you might want to consider buying yourself an Apartment. To do so simply approach an unowned Apartment room (Usually identifiable by their green doors) and check the Lease. I would suggest getting one which is 80 Credits or more, as those are the ones which come with things such as crafting benches, cooking stations and storage chests.

If you are wanting to try another Fate however... Well there is no nice way to say this but you're gonna have to K*ll yourself buddy. Unlike other Fates there's no real way to access other Fates as a Prole, so you're gonna have to take a trip to the afterlife to do so. If you want to save your items and money between lives, you can store your items in storage lockers, and you can either save your money with a banker (usually for a fee) or by buying Skull Sterling from Smugglers Vents around the City, but keep in mind Skull Sterling is considered Contraband, so if Limitors or other Cortex members find you will it, they won't be happy...

I hope this guide was of some use to you, if i missed anything be sure to let me know. I know for sure i was confused when starting with this game, and didn't really know what to do until some other friendly players showed me the ropes, so now i am returning the favour. In future i may give guides on other Fates, once i have better grasped them myself. I may give this guide updates in the future, so keep an eye out.

Best of Luck! - Spooky

Honestly you're right. I hope this guide creator is able to respond in regards to these comments. If they're inactive I'll probably work on that and turn my wartime factory guide into a full on guide. Which might take a fuckin WHILE, and I still have to fix a lot.

However yeah, A lot of stuff is missing and there will a need for an update to match up with the recent changes.
xtxownage Apr 7 @ 12:37pm
yeah ngl. Ration packs didnt save me even when I refilled the machine. You starve quicker than the event procs. Probably gonna look into other things.

Nice guide, but I feel like it still misses a bit of gameplay basics and the smaller stuff that I just wanted to list here.
- No comments about club refilling sanity
- No comments about the "ping" tab so you can get to places easier
- No comments about skinning for suspicious meat
- No comments about how cortex can scan cadavers, skeleton or not, to have you get limited
- No comments about getting limited itself
- No comments about how pushing is considered assault
- No mention of the limitation order event
- No mention of areas and people to avoid (e.g scum fates, usually hang by dark areas to get prole corpses)
- No mention of how cortex can search anybody for contraband really easily and kill anybody found with it
- No mention of how contraband cannot be put in basic lockers
- No mention of how cameras will tag limited people's location so cortex can find them easier & how if you're caught holding contraband by it that'll also alert the camera
Demon Diddler Mar 17 @ 2:46am
Excellent guide. I also would like to point out another aspect of gameplay.

Some newer people might get screwed over by this, but if you kill someone out of nowhere you will lose Anamnecytes. If you are in the negatives for Anamnecytes, you will be lesser than a prole and be forced to push boulders into a lake of fire inside of a building entirely inescapable.
Mercury Mar 15 @ 3:46pm
its like living another full time job, but sadder
BruteSSH.exe i didnt realize that the club could do the sanity part for me imma have to go and get my club on for a bit :steamsalty:
BruteSSH.exe Mar 15 @ 12:14pm
If you keep starving to death as a prole, just work in de laundry until you get enough points to spawn as Doctor: As a Healer you even out heal damage from starving and dying of thirst at the same time. Just make sure to visit the club once in a while so your sanity recharges.
JohnNuclearNightmare Mar 15 @ 4:43am
A tip for smelting. If you put in an equal amount of Iron and Coal, you can let it run for the full time, and once its done you will get the max output of Metal Ingots. You can usually carry about 7-8 of each.
