Welcome
Welcome!

I will try to fill out this guide with all the information I can find about this game, from general tips and tricks to hidden mechanics and secrets!

This guide will be spoiler heavy. I'll try to leave as much of the fun unspoiled as possible, and mark stuff with the spoiler tag. You might want to first play at your own pace and then check this guide.
General tips and tricks
There are some mechanics not explained directly by the game that you might still want to know about:

  • You can move around after you die, you will have a hard time reaching high places because the jump height is extremely small, but if you can find a fountain around...
  • ... You can resurrect yourself! Interact with the fountain while dead. It costs 50 biscuits.
  • You can create enhanced potions by using a crystal ball on a cauldron (and then throwing in your ingredients)
  • You can break potions on the ground instead of using them on yourself; they will apply their effect to anything in range
  • You can open locked doors with their key or with a sufficiently enhanced cast of Prodify (or other explosives)
  • There are a few jump pads around the map that let you jump higher than the normal ones; The ones I found are: in the bell tower accessible from the courtyard or from the library with lasers past the hidden passage near the goblet lounge, it's the one in front of the high ladder from lower level to higher level; in the secret passage between the 6 button door near the courtyard and the goblet lounge, all of them have higher jump height; on the roof of the buildings around the courtyard, accessible via the teleport at the bottom of the dungeon door area elevator or by jumping up there with another one of the pads with increased jump height
  • You can get filthy rich by casting Biggify on a biscuit (+1 value, will always give 1 more biscuit than however many you spend on it) and then casting Dopelo (costs 2, would be net zero on a normal biscuit but on biggified ones it gets you infinitely rich) on it, rinse and repeat
Spells
You can find a bunch of spells around the map (and unlock an additional one by finishing the mission!). Once unlocked they will stay unlocked for all future playthroughs.

Prodify

The first spell you find, straight ahead after first spawning in the courtyard.
Deals a small amount of damage to enemies, can be charged for higher damage by holding down the cast button.

Biggify

As the name implies, make other things (or yourself!) bigger. Costs 1 biscuit to cast. On self, will increase max health. Be careful, you can become too big to move around if you cast it on yourself too many times.
You will find this spell in the "Spells" classroom (first floor). It is behind the locked door on the small balcony in the classroom. You can find the key in "Charms" classroom (first floor) or buy it from one of the stalls (?). You can also blow the door open with an enchanced Prodify cast.

Dopelo

Duplicate (almost) anything! Costs 2 biscuit to cast.
You will find it in the green house common area. After passing the guard walk by the lounge, instead of going up the stairs go down to the left. Next to the bottomless pit, behind a locked door. You can open the door by blowing it up (e.g. rockets in room on the left) or by getting its key.
You can get the key either from "Captain Johnson" (NPC patrolling the dungeon door area) or find it behind the locked door of the "Potions" classroom (either buy this key from the stall next to the dopelo locked door (on the right), blow up the door, or get in the vent in the storage room of the potions classroom next to it).

Flambelio

Sets things on fire, and can be charged to set a wider area on fire on impact.
You will find it in the secret passage between the 6 button code area (see picture for order to open)
and the goblet lounge (shelf on the left past the first guard at the entrance, opposite wall straight in front of the sphere object for the dungeon door)

Minify

As the name implies, make other things (or yourself!) smaller. Costs 1 biscuit to cast. On self, will reduce max health. Be careful, you can get stuck in the ground if you cast it on yourself too many times.
You will find this spell in the "Spells" classroom (first floor). It is hidden behind a tilted portrait on the left wall

Perambulate

Think of it as "accio" in the HP franchise, you can bring objects to you and move them around.
You will find this spell in the "Charms" classroom (second floor).

Personam Assumum

Have you ever wanted to cast the green spell that hits like a truck, Oblitero? Now you can, by taking control of any other NPC! Unlock it by completing the mission once.

Oblitero

Assume control of any other NPC that already knows the spell to be able to cast it, e.g. the other Secret Agents or the boy with green hat running around the courtyard. Can be charged, and if done it lobs the spell instead of firing it straight.
Potions
All potions are made by adding a Gimble Root (below) and another ingredient to a cauldron.

You can get an "Enhanced" version of each potion by using a Crystal Ball in the cauldron before adding the ingredients; you'll know you got it right if the potion that comes out is a glowy blue color.
The effects of "Enhanced" versions of potions will vary (e.g. enhanced health potion increases max health, enhanced defense potion gives +11 armor - will list them all with time).

In the game you can also find an "enhanced" gimble root (glowy blue, like the enhanced potions) - if you use it in conjunction with an ingredient you will get back 20 of the relevant potion. If you use it with a crystal ball applied you will get back 20 enhanced potions.

You can Biggify/Minify potions to increase/decrease their potency. Once you change their size you cannot hold them anymore, so the only way to apply their effect is to break them.

Given the above, the most efficient way to be a potion maker is To use a crystal ball, an enhanced gimble root and whatever other ingredient you need. With the Dopelo spell unlocked you can preatty easily become immortal and one shot anything by creating 20 enhanced health pots, 20 enhanced armor pots and 20 enhanced spell power pots.

Spell Power Potion
Increases spell potency (i.e., you will cast the "charged" version of a spell without having to charge it). Stacks on use. Resets on death.
Enhanced version = Greatly increase spell potency (goes beyond the "charged" version of a spell, e.g. Prodify explodes on impact, Flambelio sets fire to a wide area). Stacks on use. Resets on death.
Be careful with this one! a few enhanced pots are enough to make Prodify a nuclear bomb that kills everything (you included) in a very wide radius.

Pick-ups
There are some pick-ups to collect around the map, specifically:

  • Bulletproof vest, adds 5 armor

  • Suitcase, slightly increases max health (less than an enhanced health potion, my best guess is this adds 5 and the potion adds 10)

  • Boots, decreases fall damage

Once collected, they will be gone until the week resets. Max health and fall damage reduction persist after death, but armor is gone once depleted.

Locations
Bulletproof Vest
  • Balcony in front of bell tower, reachable from courtyard by using jump pads
  • On top of a shelf next to the stall selling the pyramid object
  • Behind a painting with the Prodify mark on it, first floor of the castle, opposite side of the vault door area
  • Room to the left of the bottomless pit in the green house area, next to the locked door containing Dopelo

  • On top of a shelf next to the stall selling the "Spells" classroom key

Suitcase
  • Secret passage between first floor of the castle and elevator area at courtyard level. Can be opened by interacting with a button on the right column in front of the vault door area.

  • Gutters/Sewer area below the dungeon door area. Can be reached from either the guard booth of the green common area (vent next to the area lounge to enter it) or by using Prodify on a tile behind the wine barrels on the right side of the dungeon door room.

  • Upper level of the bell tower, reachable from the library with lasers on the last floor of the castle or from the courtyard by using jump pads

  • First dorm room in the green house area

  • In one of the vents of the first floor of the castle, you can enter next to the ledge with all the potions

  • Behind a fake wall in the "Charms" classroom, you'll need to place the big cube block on the floor to reveal it

  • On top of the fireplace of the goblet lounge

Boots
  • Hidden door in the "Spells" classroom, behind the bookshelves. Can be opened by casting Prodify on a button on the column next to the stairs, almost at the top

  • Dungeon room on the right of the dungeon door. Can be reached by falling down from a trapdoor in the corridor between first and second floor of the castle (go up the stairs in the "portraits" tower, take first door on the right, go down the corridor and find a button about halfway through on the left). The fall will kill you, but you can move to the pressure plate in front of the grate door and open it. Alternatively, you can cast Minify 8 times on the grate door from the dungeon door area and pass through.

  • On top of the bell tower of the courtyard, reachable by using the increased jump height jump pads or by using the teleporter at the bottom of the dungeon door elevator (call elevator from courtyard, go down to dungeon door level, get out and interact with button, elevator will rise and you can jump down). If you have collected the first two boots already you will survive the fall and get the last one. With all 3 you can safely jump anywhere within the castle.

  • In the goblet lounge, behind the goblet painting on the right wall as soon as you enter
  • On top of the "awning" of the stairs of the second floor common area (the one that connects to goblet hall and "Charms" class
Secrets
There are a lot of nooks and crannies to explore in this game, and I encourage you to go and find them all! I will try to list them with titles that are as vague as possible, but this will obviously be a spoiler heavy section. You've been warned!

720 possible permutations?!
There is a hidden passage between the "elevator area" at the courtyard level and the goblet lounge on the second floor.
The entrance from the courtyard level is in the room on the left of the corridor that leads to the elevator to the dungeon door. Once you open the door there will be an NPC that runs out and tell you that they've been locked in there for ages. Be careful of the mines on the right as soon as you enter.
On the left side wall you will see 6 buttons arranged in two rows of 3 each, and to open the secret passage you will have to interact with the 6 buttons in a specific order.
You can find the order by reading a scroll in the teacher's room of the "Spells" classroom (first floor). The scroll is on the desk, next to the computer. Here's a screenshot of it for reference

You can also enter from the goblet lounge by moving the shelf placed on the wall on the opposite side of the sphere object. After you enter the goblet lounge from the second floor, go past the first guard, and it will be the first shelf on your right in the corridor.
You can find the Flambelio spell and increased jump height jump pads in the passage.

Courtyard Skip
There is a secret passage between the first floor of the castle and the elevator area at courtyard level. You can open it by interacting with a button placed on a column in one of the first floor corridors. It is in front of the room with the giant vault door and the lasers, on your right when you have your back turned to the vault door.

The wall on the left with a statue will turn and revel the passage. You will find a suitcase inside.

Teacher's goon cave
There is a hidden door in the "Spells" classroom, I wonder how you can reveal it?
Spoil the fun: Way high up on the right column of the stairs in the classroom, almost at the ceiling, there is a button. Cast Prodify on it to reveal the secret door and open it.

Inside you'll find one of the fall damage reduction boots and one of the torch hands missing something; this last thing I haven't been able to figure out how to activate or if it is supposed to do anything (placing a torch there has no effect as far as I can see)

Control Room
You can find the Secret Agent control room on the third floor of the castle. Among other things, the torus misteryous object is inside, so it is an unmissable secret to finish the mission. I wonder how you get here?
Spoil the fun: in the main area of the second floor (which connects to the goblet lounge and the "Charms" classroom) there is a wall with a statue and two hands to hold torches. One of the torches is on the ground, pick it up and place it on the hand to open the secret passage, which will lead to a library with a bunch of lasers. Get past this and you'll find a storage room with a Secret Agent attacking you on sight. At the end of the room you'll find the control room.
Another way to reach the library with lasers is to jump up the bell tower from the courtyard (you'll need a jump pad). Get up to the higher area by using the increased jump height pad in front of the ladder, and open the door on your left.

They call me Hackerman
There are a couple of computers you can interact with around the map. I wonder what they do?
Spoil the fun:

You can interact with the computers to look through the various security cameras in the castle. You are able to have (limited) interactions from the camera, e.g. open doors or click buttons. You'll find them
  • In the teacher's room of the "Spells" classroom, on the desk
  • in the Secret Agent control room

What does this do? Part 1
In front of the elevator to the dungeon door, at the courtyard level, you will see a button. I wonder what it does?
Spoil the fun: Sucks to be you, you're now jointless :(

What does this do? Part 2
In the Secret Agent control room there is a server rack with a button on top. I wonder what it does?
Spoil the fun: Interact with it multiple times to change your body build, from stubby to lanky

The best voice line on repeat? sign me up!

In the common area of the second floor (which connects to goblet lounge and "Charms" classroom), you can find 4 tiles you can interact with by casting Prodify. They are hidden behind 4 paintings in the 4 corners of the room. Each will trigger a different sound when interacted with, including the very best line of voice acting in the game!

The 6 "Mysterious Shapes"
Where to find the 6 objects needed to open the dungeon door:

Sphere

In the Goblet Lounge, under a glass protection. Cast a charged Prodify to break it

Torus

In the Secret Agent control room, on the top floor of the castle

Pyramid

Sold at one of the stalls in the castle (from courtyard take the stairs with a statue at the base, in the first corridor open the second door on your left)

Cube

In the last dorm room in the green house private area

Elongated Octagonal Bipyramid

Probably the first you'll notice, held by a female NPC coming out of the corridor with a cauldron right next to the courtyard

Octahedron

Held by one of the armatures in the dungeon door area

Hats
There a few hats you can put on, some have a use while others appear to be aesthetic only.

  • Green house hat; used to get in the green house common area

  • Red house hat

  • Yellow house hat

  • Blue house hat

  • Goblet hat; used to get into the goblet lounge

  • Spider hat

  • Eyeball hat

  • Propeller hat; Increases jump height and lowers fall speed

  • Cauldron hat; Can be used as a normal cauldron (sometimes? seems to be somewhat bugged)

It is sorta mentioned already, in the Potions section:
"You can Biggify/Minify potions to increase/decrease their potency. Once you change their size you cannot hold them anymore, so the only way to apply their effect is to break them."
Retro Pixel Lizard Mar 29 @ 7:47pm
One thing you should mention with the Biggify spell. It doesn't just make the object bigger but more potent.

For example: A Jump pad will launch you higher the bigger It gets. But don't spam Biggify on any explosive unless you're ready to teach a class on the power of the atomic bomb.
Tombot Mar 16 @ 10:10pm
Okay, so I checked again and it isn't a throwing weapon its actually a melee weapon that you swing, it seems able to knock anyone out in one hit, after which it breaks. Not sure how I managed to hit myself with it.
Tombot Mar 16 @ 6:40pm
So this is anecdotal, but I managed to make a "Melee" potion using a baguette, instead of drinking it however I threw it and it some was able to damage my health through my armor and knock me out immediately.
ErfXploded Mar 14 @ 12:54pm
green hat is used to get into the green living area near the mysterious shapes door
Devilmoon  [author] Mar 8 @ 3:05pm
Indeed you are correct, thanks for checking :)
Warlach Mar 8 @ 12:24pm
Propeller hat gives increased jump & slower fall, unsure about fall damage but from my testing there's no reduction.
