Preamble
Accuracy of Information
All of this is hand-compiled and some may be incorrect; there's a lot of enemies here and my memory isn't perfect. If you see something that's wrong, leave a comment and I'll fix it.

I'd love to have the song that plays for each enemy here, but I'm not going to compile that. If you'd like to, and want to add it, I'll happily add you as a collaborator.

How many notes to one-shot?
Check your damage on an easy enemy. Damage numbers seem to be consistent across enemies; weakness seems to be 2x damage taken, and damage seems to scale linearly with note count (See Below). Check how much you do with the strongest attack your weapon has, and you should be able to divide the damage by the number of notes and get a rough idea of how much damage you do per note. Divide the enemy's HP by that number to get an idea of how many notes you need to one-shot them.

Originally posted by Phantom:
It's possible this is specific to Corrupted Irvine, but from an hour or 2 of testing it appears damage does NOT scale linearly with note count. With my heavy attack starting at 14, notes 15-19 scaled with diminishing returns, like really really terribly. Interestingly, at note 20 it jumped up in value started scaling WAY better, with each note being worth increasingly slightly more than the last. I tried using a couple different regression models in Desmos to see what worked best, and the closest 3 are Cubic, Quartic, and Power. Power Regression looked like it might've been the closest to accurate, but I didn't check that aspect rigorously. I also only checked this using one color of note on one weapon, so for all I know this only applies to Ragnarok and other weapons scale more coherently.

HP Values, Etc.
These are all coming from the battle arena area (accessed from the Hillbert Hotel elevator; code: 888 688.)

Terminology
I'm not sure what the official names for the various note types are, so this is the terminology I'll be using:
  • Hold Note: Note with a followup chain of notes that can be collected by holding the Absorb button.
  • Black Note: Any note that can't be collected.
  • Wide Note: The horizontal bars.

Organization
Enemies are organized as they are in the battle arena, to make it easy to find specific ones. You should be able to Ctrl+F and search for enemies by name as they're listed in the achievements, to make it easy to find the ones you need.

What about the other achievements?
The following enemies can't be re-fought after passing them in the story, from what I can find:
  • Raven part 1
  • Chase Anxious

If you need one or both of those, you're stuck replaying the game, unfortunately.
Right side - 1-5 - Furries
Hyena - 2000 HP
Achievement: One hit kill Hyena
  • Only uses Green and Blue
  • Weak to neither; green is much easier to use.
Hyena
Shark - 3200 HP
Achievement: One hit kill Shark Mutant
  • Uses Green and Brown
  • Weak to neither; Green is more plentiful
  • Section 1: Stay in lane 2, collect green, jump brown
  • Section 2: Move between lane 1 and 2; stay in 1 unless moving to 2 to collect green
  • Transition back to section (black notes): Stay in lane 2; jump one black note
  • Will probably take multiple loops through the song to get enough notes to one-shot.
Insect Amalgamation - 1400 HP

Lurker
Wheeler - 3888 HP
Achievement: One hit kill Wheeler
  • Uses Red, Blue, Green, Brown, Yellow
  • Weak to Brown; Recommend using green
  • Has 4 sections with subsets of colors in each; green is featured in #2 and #4.
  • Edges are pretty easy to dodge other colors, but be aware of the wavy green notes in the middle.
  • If you have trouble with the wavy notes, start collecting greens after those notes and you should have enough before seeing them again.
Wheeler
Thriller - 3000 HP
Achievement: One hit kill Thriller
  • Uses Blue, Brown, Red
  • Weak to none; Recommend using Blue
  • During the Red/Brown section, stay in lane 1 or 5 and focus on jumping colors and collecting wild notes.
  • The Red/Brown section ends with a very difficult pattern of black notes. Movement required.
  • If you struggle with the black note section, you can one-cycle it (from the beginning of the song or from immediately after the black note section), but it's tight.
Thriller
World Eater - 2100 HP
Achievement: One hit kill World Eater
  • Uses Brown, Purple
  • Weak to none; Use brown
  • Very fast; less than 20 seconds. If you see purple notes, you've gone further than you need to.
World Eater
Alien Warrior - 2400 HP

  • Not difficult; recommend focusing on jumping rather than dodging.

Juice Master No. 4671 - 3800 HP
Achievement: One hit kill Juice Master
  • Uses Green, Red, Blue
  • Weak to Red; use Green
  • Has some intimidating sections but they're not as bad as they look initially
  • If you're good at catching wavy notes, you might have luck using Red.
  • If you struggle with the wavy notes, start collecting Green after they end (while the boss stomps) and you'll have plenty before the wavy notes come back (if your damage is similar to mine).
Right Side - 22-26 - Mushrooms
Brown Slow Mushroom - 2500 HP
Achievement: One hit kill Brown Slow Mushroom
  • Uses Yellow, Brown, Blue, Green
  • Weak to Green; Use whatever's easiest for you. Yellow is the hardest to dodge, but there aren't many of them.
  • Lane 2 is easy during the blue / green / wild note section.
Beige Mushroom - 1800 HP
Achievement: One hit kill Hydra Mushroom
  • Uses Blue, Green, Brown
  • Weak to Brown; Use Brown
  • A short time into the fight, it'll go ballistic and create a lot of wild and brown notes.
  • Hitting it during this period will set it back to the first pattern; if going for the one-shot, just collect the brown notes at that time, but beware of the wavy notes it'll periodically use.
  • Lane 5 is fairly safe.
Smelly Gas Mushroom - 2100 HP
Achievement: One hit kill Smelly Gas Mushroom
  • Uses Blue, Yellow
  • Weak to Yellow; Use Yellow
  • When hit, it releases gas that obscures the playfield.
Sun Knight - 5000 HP (Armored)
Achievement: One hit kill SunKnight MB

  • Should be easy due to long strings of brown notes; very easy to accidentally absorb a blue.
Divine Mushroom - ???? HP

Achievement: One hit kill Vanguard 3D
  • Uses Brown, Green
  • Weak to Brown; use Brown
  • There's a string of browns every time he slams the hammer.

  • AKA Doopy Draogn (as it's called in the battle arena area)

  • Uses Red, Blue, Green
  • Weak to None, Use Red
  • Be aggressive; aim for 45 reds before the blue notes appear. Make your attack when the green notes appear.

Zombie - 850 HP
Achievement: One hit kill Zombie Islandier
  • Uses Brown, Green
  • Weak to none; Green is probably easier.
  • Timed battle; if you take too long, you die. Timing is very tight for one-shot.

Achievement: One hit kill Harpy
  • Uses Brown
  • Weak to None; Use Brown
  • Lots of black notes
Right Side - 36-38 - Yellow, Cursed Castle & Toilet
Yellow - 4200 HP
Achievement: One hit kill Yellow
  • Uses Red, Yellow, Green
  • Weak to none; use Blue
  • Easier than it seems. Wait for the section with the wavy notes and held blue notes, and start collecting blue. Keep them until after the long strings of wild notes just before the song loops, and you'll have plenty to one-shot.
Cursed Castle - 5000 HP
Achievement: One hit kill Cursed Castle
  • Uses Purple, Yellow
  • Weak to none; Yellows are more plentiful, Purples are easier to absorb
  • Purple is probably easier overall.
Toilet - 23331 HP
Achievement: One hit kill Toilets
  • Uses Blue, Yellow, Green, Red
  • Weak to none; use whatever
  • If going for the one-shot, it doesn't affect the achievement if it rolls 777 naturally - you just can't hit it to reset the slots, so you have to let it do so naturally.
  • To get the one-shot achievement, you don't have to deal the last hit, as long as you hit it exactly 1 time during the fight (and let it roll 777 naturally repeatedly to damage itself).
  • If not going for one-shot, just hit it any time you get anything other than 777. When you do get it, it will take 7777 damage.
Right Side - 39-41 - Slimes
Molly - 4000 HP
Achievement: One hit kill Molly
  • Uses Red, Green, Blue
  • Weak to Blue; Use Blue
  • Very difficult to one-shot.

Achievement: One hit kill Dmitri
  • Uses Green, Purple, Blue, Red
  • Weak to None; Purple isn't too bad to use.
  • HP drops to 2700 as soon as the fight starts. (This may have been a bug and seems to have been fixed?)
  • Many black notes
Lucy - 4444 HP
Achievement: One hit kill Lucy
  • Uses Blue, Yellow, Purple, Red, Brown
  • Weak to None; recommend using Blue or Red, YMMV
  • If good at catching wavy notes, yellow might be easier.
  • Has long periods where only one or two colors are present.
  • Red is probably easiest; you'll need to loop the song at least once, maybe twice if you're not aggressive enough. Switch weapons and focus on not getting hit in the blue / yellow section.
Right Side - 42-44 - Dragon
NOTE: If you are trying to get the one-shot achievements for these, you can fight each phase individually in the battle arena.

Dragon Phase 1 - 6000 HP
Achievement: One hit kill Dragon part 1

Light Being - 4500 HP
Achievement: One hit kill Light Being
  • Uses Green, Blue
  • Weak to None; Use Green
  • This one is much easier than it looks. The song loop is very short.
  • Beware the segments where you're involuntarily moved left/right.
  • For the glitched movement sections, don't move until after the glitches. They always send you to the same lane regardless of where you start, so if you try to move while it's happening, it may result in getting hit. After the second glitched move, start moving again to avoid the notes.
  • For the section with the green tall notes and the black notes, start in lane 2, jump the black notes and absorb the greens. Half way through the section, start moving between lane 1 and 2 to absorb green notes. The section is very easy with this method.

For Loop - 5200 HP
Achievement: One hit kill For Loop

  • Armored while stuck in the short loops. Make sure to wait until after the loop to attack.

  • Uses Green, Red, Blue
  • Weak to none

Many Mushrooms - 5500 HP (Approximate)
Achievement: One hit kill Mushroom Party
  • Uses Green, Purple, Orange, Yellow, Red
  • Weak to None

  • Uses Red, Green, Brown, Purple, Blue, Yellow
  • Weak to None; Recommend using Purple
  • Switch weapons during the tall note sections.
  • During the 'stretched' section, stay in lane 1 , switch weapons, and just absorb everything.
  • The held note section after the stretched section is the best place to absorb notes - you can easily get 55-60 in one loop through this. If you're not confident about the rest of the song, collect notes here, then switch weapons for the rest of the song and wait for it to loop.

Achievement: One hit kill Shaman
  • Uses Brown, Blue, Purple
  • Weak to none
  • No damage needed; fight ends at 2:45:733 automatically.
  • To get the one-hit-kill achievement, you must hit the boss exactly once during the fight, then let it end naturally.
Left Side - 7-10 - Forest
Yellow Toad - 2000 HP
Achievement: One hit kill Frog
  • Uses Blue, Green
  • Weak to Green; Use Green
  • The white bubbles hurt you.

Edit: I can confirm Riley has less than 8888hp on colisseum. I hit him with 6334 damage and he went down. I used katana + the beads.

I'm not 100% sure, but it seems like riley's hp are lower than 8888 since the fight ends when he's near 1200 HP.

Yeah, all of the listed HP values are specifically for the Colosseum, since I figure that's where most folks are going to be trying to get the one-shot achievements. They definitely vary for the story.

7000 does seem to match with what we'd gathered for the Colosseum version - I'll update the value! Thanks for the data!

Just so you know, Root of all evil in the Colosseum has 7000 HP and i hear the one at the start has 1800 HP.

You should also recommend equipping the red bandanna for this one. I missed it and the fight took me literal hours to do. Had to get the save file from a person who had the bandanna just to scratch by. It is a lifesaver.

Also I'd give a fair warning against trying the 1800 Hp Root of all Evil cause Raven will save you before you have time to absorb enough attacks.

oh wow you weren't lying you hit just about everything you'd need to know

For the harder new battle (idk if I should be worried bout spoiling here) best bet is purple, and it has 8000 hp in the normal battle and 10000 hp for the refight; weapon swapping is required by the seems of it

I do, in fact! Thanks for the heads up!
