How to play Azazel the right way

A handy guide how to play with Azazel in The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth.

1. Having flight and more

Azazel is a fun and good character to play with, starting out with 3 black hearts, a small Brimstone charge and flight. However to unlock Azazel, you need to make 3 deals with the devil. If you already unlocked Azazel, this is what you need to have.

When playing as Azazel, you have the option to fly wherever you want. Like pits, stones and other stuff. Having flight is handy, because you are mostly safe and your Brimstone charged shots can shoot where you want, but its range is really short. Also, you can get to special spots with Azazel, like items in pits or stones. You can fly right through and grab the items. You also can place bombs in stones for some reason, this is maybe just a bug.

2. The Brimstone charge

This is also one of the best reasons why Azazel is a good character. The Brimstone charge does lots of damage, but has low range. You might watch out on some of the enemies and bosses, because if you stand close to them and they attack, charge, etc. they can harm you and eventually ruin your runs. Brimstone is the upgrade to the small Brimstone charge shot. You also can combine items like Loki's Horns for a four-sided charge shot. Or Mutant Spider if you want multiple charges in one. However The Ludovico Technique is one of the best combos because it makes a giant blood laser and you can move it where you want. It deals a lot of damage (However, decreases your damage until you get some damage up items) and kills your enemies easily. Another good thing is Tammy's Head. It can shoot in eight directions and you can recharge it on every room you beat a enemy. Also the infamous Brimsnap glitch from the original The Binding of Isaac got fixed and now stops you from shooting.

3. The Black Hearts

Azazel starts out with 3 Black Hearts. If you lose one, the Necronomicon effect will happen and will kill or damage all enemies or bosses in the current room. Azazel can get Red Hearts, Soul Hearts and White Hearts too. However, if you lose most of your Black Hearts in the beginning, you can have troubles in the future. So watch out!

Honestly the best character, and your guide was kinda pointless because you cans see from the start what to do with him; hide behind rocks and shoot stuff.

Iv probably killed Isaac with him about 5-7 times and blue baby with him 2-3 times. Hes Kinda OP if you ask me.

Never seen a more pointless Guide. Hes like the best character. Just hide in rocks and shoot the brimstone beam. Simple as that. Hes the only character I killed everything on hard mode with. Hes also how I unlocked the polaroid and Negative.
