Introduction
When it comes to training horses it can be time consuming and tedious but with some simple tricks it becomes much more manageable.
The trainable skills are:

Speed → The horse's speed.

Endurance → The amount of time a horse can gallop before running out of energy.

Jump → Determines how high the horse can jump and what angle the horse can clear the obstacle.

Flexibility → Determines how fast the horse can turn.

Trust → Affects how likely the horse is to successfully breed.
The Round Pen
The round pen pauses the time in the game which allows you to spend as much time as you need in it to train your horse. It is also self-going so all you need to do is put the horse in the speed you want it to go, add obstacles or shorten the lead and leave it there. This allows you to do something else like watch a video or go for a walk while your horse is being trained.

The round pen is also amazing at increasing the tameness of your horse wich is a blessing if you got your horse from the wild. With only one session in the round pen, the tameness can reach 100%.
OBS! Don’t forget that you can give your horse a treat once a day to continue training! If your horse has the gourmet trait it can eat up to 2 treats per day. I recommend keeping a supply of watermelons on hand at all times.
Training Arenas
Training arenas is a way for you to quickly train a specific skill of your horse. The training arena will have checkpoints which gives a significant increase to your horse's skill. I recommend buying the arena itself early on and wait to buy the first upgrade until you can afford it later on. Upgrading the arena will allow you to use the arena 2 times a day meaning that you can enter each checkpoint twice. You can buy the arenas from Rivers store.

Grain
Grain can help speed up the process as it gives the horse a boost in a specific skill depending on which type of grain you use.

OBS! You can only use one type per day so choose wisely. You CAN’T use both oats and an additional grain either.

Area Boosts
By training in a specific area you get a boost in a skill connected to the area. This is the same skill as the training arena that is in the area. For an example Lupine Meadow gives a boost in training the speed skill. You can see wich skill is being boosted because of the arrow over the skill that is being trained. It can be up to 3 arrows if your horse has an area boost, trait boost and a grain boost at the same time.

I recommend simply using the arena in the area paired with grain.
Horse traits
Horses can have a trait that gives them a boost in a certain skill. This works the same as grains except that it is always active
Horse Statues
Each area has a statue that, when you unlock it, can give an additional 5% in the skill connected to that area. You can get the reward by walking up to the statue and pressing E to interact with it. The statue in Town gives 10% potential instead.

You can charge the statues by winning races in the specific areas. The races also increases the trust with your horse. Each race gives 10% towards the statue and once it reaches 100% you can interact with the statue again for your reward.

There are also round circles on the ground which can give you money, potential, statue points or energy. These are great for getting a bit of extra potential you can train into the horse's skill or recharge their energy or get closer to the statue rewards.
Summary
To summarize, I recommend using a combination of a grain and the training arenas in order to maximize the amount of training done per day in the least amount of time. If you need to go and do something else I recommend leaving your horse in the round pen to train while you're away. And an additional suggestion for players that has not been mentioned yet, leave only horse that are in training or still have potential left in the stable so that you can avoid having to take care of the rest.

Happy training everyone!

It does give a boost, however, in my experience the arenas found on the trails are more efficient. The indoor arena is mostly aestethic

Do you have information as to whether the indoor arena that you can buy is just as efficient are the trail arenas?
