How to Adjust your FOV in Left 4 Dead 2

Want to adjust your weapon's position on screen in Left 4 Dead 2? This guide shows you how to change the Viewmodel Field of View (FOV).

Introduction + Setup

I'm going to show you how to adjust your FOV in Left 4 Dead 2. It's super easy, and you only need to set up one thing first. When you launch the game, go to Options, then Keyboard/Mouse, and make sure 'Allow Developer Console' is enabled.

Adjusting your FOV

Now, launch any of your favourite modes Campaign, Survival, etc.

So we can get into the game and adjust the FOV. It's better to be in-game since it makes tweaking the settings easier to fit your needs.

Once you're in-game, open the console by pressing the ~ key on your keyboard.

The Command

The console should now pop up, and we'll use one simple command. Copy and paste your preferred FOV command below into the console and press Enter.


cl_viewmodelfovsurvivor 51 (default FOV)


cl_viewmodelfovsurvivor 60


cl_viewmodelfovsurvivor 70


cl_viewmodelfovsurvivor 80
