Walkthrough for The Chronicles of Lancelot

Intro

In The Chronicles of Lancelot, you are Lancelot, a very well endowed himbo. Explore the lands around Camelot as you search for answers regarding Excalibur and your father.

Controls

When entering a new battle, the game will remember your last selections from the previous battle. You can just press Space to quickly select the same actions.

You can also adjust and zoom the camera during the in-game cutscenes using the same Field camera controls.

Chapter 1 - Camelot

Once you start a new game, you’ll immediately get dropped into the role of Lancelot and can move around.

Walkthrough

1. Go down the stairs of your house and talk to Jaime.
   
2. Check the side of your house. Examine the chest (500 Gol) and the door to your father's treasure trove.
   
3. Examine the white patch of flowers next to your house (500 Gol).
   
4. Talk to the man next to the field of purple flowers. This field is the entrance to the Grail Forest but we won't go there yet.
   
5. Follow the man's advice and examine under the bridge. Finish the scene to get 1 Gold Medal (shows in Valuables as Gold Necklace)
   
6. Press F1, click Equipment > Jamie > Weapon: Staff > Unequip. This will unequip the Staff that Jamie is holding so you can sell it. Note that while the game says the staff increases MATK, all physical and magic attacks use the regular ATK stat the the Equipment screen shows at the top.
   
7. Cross the bridge and go past the shopkeeper. Across from the baker is a lad tending to a horse. Convince the lad to take off his shirt then examine the baker’s table for 10 Breads.
   
8. Talk to the shopkeeper. Sell the Gold Necklace, Staff, and 10 Breads and buy 2 Poison Charms and 1 Sword. Equip the Poison Charms on both Lancelot and Jamie and the Sword on Lancelot.
   
9. Go back to the field of purple flowers and enter Grail Forest.

You can explore Camelot for more chests but avoid confronting Arthur at this time (or save before you do). To make the game easier, you can also buy 1 Veil of Invisibility that you can equip to avoid random encounters when you need to find a unicorn.

Chapter 2 - Grail Forest

You should already have 5 Potion, 5 High Potion, 5 Magic Potion, 5 Revive Potion, and 5 Cure Potion in your inventory when you started the game. These should be enough to survive the forest. Generally, you won’t have to buy too many potions since they're common drops from enemies.

Enemy strategies

• Watcher - Use Flameblade Incision followed by attack with Lancelot and Ice with Jamie. Switch to Cyclomaelstrom Cleave once you learn it.
  
• Dragon Bug - Use Flameblade Incision followed by attack with Lancelot and Ice with Jamie. Switch to Cyclomaelstrom Cleave once you learn it

Walkthrough

1. Examine the Horny Couple at the sign to get 1 Semen drop.
   
2. Continue towards the unicorn and kill monsters until you reach level 3 (or ideally, level 5). Examining the unicorn will restore your HP and MP. Heal and save after every battle since it’s very easy to die at level 1. Prioritize killing Watchers first since they have less HP than Dragon Bugs. In a battle with two Dragon Bugs, you are likely to lose without using potions so be careful!
   
3. Follow the path until you reach a stone arch. You should see a shout from Kay. Save the game here in case you die against the first boss.
   
4. Go towards the large Anadraga (snake) and enter battle. To beat the Anadraga, have Lancelot use Flameblade Incision (and then attack when out of MP) and Jamie use Fire. Restore HP when necessary with a Potion and Jamie’s MP with a Magic Potion. With the Poison Charms, they both should be immune to poison. The boss hits hard so the extra stats from getting to level 3 is necessary. Once the Anadraga is defeated, talk to the unicorn to heal. Note that the random battles will get harder at this point!
   
5. Check on Kay.
   
6. Before going back to the main forest path, search the arch behind Kay for a chest (1000 Gol). If you go straight through a nearby stone arch surrounded by orange flowers, you'll find another arch with another chest (1000 Gol) and 1 AetherBlossom. Do not sell the flower.
   
7. Go back to the main path and continue north until you encounter the centaur, Chiron.
   
8. After proving you are a worthy knight, two green arrows will appear around Chiron. Go to the arrow on Chiron's left and enter the forest at the direction it points. You should pass a field of orange flowers and eventually find some ruins with another Horny Couple. Examine the couple to get 1 Semen drop.
   
9. Go back to Chiron and go to the green arrow in front of him. Enter the forest at the direction it points and you should pass a chest (1000 Gol) before finding another Horny Couple. Examine the couple to get 1 Semen drop.
   
10. If you have 7 Watcher Tales, go back to Chiron. Otherwise, grind for them near a unicorn. You will also get Dragon Hides from Dragon Bugs - do not sell these. Once you give all of the ingredients to Chiron, you’ll receive the Detoxelix.
    
11. Go back to Kay and administer the antidote. Kay will give you the Introduction Scroll. Again, the random battles will get harder (see below)!
    
12. Go back to the main path and follow it north. You should pass a chest (1000 Gol) and two unicorns before reaching the entrance to Grailwood village. Talk to the man at the entrance and enter the village.

Chapter 3 - Grailwood Village

Once you get the Introduction Scroll from Kay, the enemies in Grail Forest will change. Ideally, you should be level 5 at this point so Lancelot will have learned Cyclomaelstrom Cleave.

Enemy Strategies

• You’ll still encounter Watchers and Dragon Bugs.
  
• For any group of enemies, use Cyclomaelstrom Cleave.
  
• Anadraga - Use Sorostab or Flameblade Incision and Fire (or Fira if you learned it).
  
• Wyvern - Use Cyclomaelstrom Cleave and Ice.

Walkthrough

1. Talk to the armored man, Percival. He will tell you to collect 10 Dragon Hides.
   
2. Before going back to the forest, talk to the pig farmer, Ollie, and convince him to take off his apron.
   
3. Talk to Lebius then talk to Leona next to the beehives. She'll ask for some AetherBlossom (you'll need 3).
   
4. Go back to Grail Forest and grind for the 10 Dragon Hides. Be sure to grind near the unicorn closest to Grailwood for encounters with more enemies. While in the forest, go back to Chiron and talk to him to get another AetherBlossom. Go in the direction Chiron's rear points to find another AetherBlossom just a short distance away. If you got the blossom in the ruins earlier, you should have 3 now. A fourth can be found in an orange field of flowers somewhat near Chiron but it's not needed for the sidequest.
   
5. Once you have the hides and the flowers, go back to Grailwood Village.
   
6. Talk to Percival and deliver the hides. He'll give you Ban's Key.
   
7. Talk to Leona and deliver the blossoms. Next, talk to Ollie & Lebius to receive 1 Crimson Seraph that you can equip on Lancelot.
   
8. Before going back to Camelot, you can explore Grailwood Village for 4 chests (2000 Gol, 2000 Gol, 2000 Gol, 2000 Gol). Once you're done, go back to Camelot.

If you haven't reached level 10 with Jamie yet, continue to grind in the forest. You will need the Fira spell that he learns at that level for the next dungeon.

Chapter 4 - Ruins of Eldros

The enemies in the next dungeon are much stronger! Don’t be afraid to use potions after every battle to heal as necessary.. You can always buy more at the shop but you should have enough from enemy drops.

Enemy strategies

• Snakara - Use Sorostab. Jamie should focus on healing HP/MP or defending (don’t waste MP on spells).
  
• Demon - Use Fira.

Walkthrough

1. Once back in Camelot, Bedivere is next to your house, blocking access to father's treasure trove. Heal at the unicorn then confront Arthur and his guards (found near the shop; use Cyclomaelstrom Cleave until all the guards die then Sorostab and Cleave) to scare Bedivere away. Heal at the unicorn again then use Ban's Key to open the door to the trove.
   
2. Examine the sword on the table. Arthur will attack again (Sorostab then Cyclomaelstrom Cleave; Jamie can use Fira and use potions to heal). Once the battle is over, claim 1 Excalibur's husk and speak to Asher. Don’t forget to heal at the unicorn!
   
3. Go to the shop and continue around and cross another bridge to get to the entrance of the ruins. Walk towards the glowing barrier and Excalibur will dispel it. Enter the Ruins of Eldros.
   
4. Follow the path to the center of the ruins and talk to Aricen. He needs 7 Gem Fragments to restore Excalibur.
   
5. Ignoring the main building for now, go left and search the lower outer ruins for a chest (1 Gem Fragment) then go up the nearby stairs. After climbing up the three flights of stairs, cross the stone bridge and go through the right arch for another chest (1 Gem Fragment). Go back over the bridge and through the arch that has a short ledge. Carefully fall off the ledge so you fall onto the green stones below. Go through the stone arch and open the chest next to the gate (1 Gem Fragment). Go back to the green stones and fall down to the lower level.
   
6. Walk straight to the other side of the lower grounds. Turn right and continue to go through this part of the ruins towards the entrance of the ruins to find a chest (3 Revive Potions).
   
7. Go back to Aricen and check the area to the right for a chest (1000 Gol) then check the "strange mushroom". Do something gentle to it and enter the main building.
   
8. Follow the left most wall and you'll eventually run into a chest (1000 Gol). Keep following the wall and you'll find a barrel with a key on top of it (1 Old key). Continue to follow the wall and go up the stairs and through the arch.
   
9. Cross the bridge and at the arch on the other side, take the right path to find a gate that the Old Key can open. Take care of the strange mushroom and open the chest behind it (1 Gem Fragment).
   
10. Go back to the arch and enter it, making sure to not fall down to the lower level. Keep following the path to find a chest on a wooden ledge (1000 Gol).
    
11. Walk back to the end of the bridge you crossed in step 9. Explore the left path to see a chest that fell through the stone floor. Carefully fall through the floor and open this chest (1 Gem Fragment) then continue to fall down back to the lower level.
    
12. Starting from the exit of this small room that you fell into, start following the right most wall. You should eventually find a unicorn. Check the wall behind the unicorn for a chest (1 Gem Fragment) then continue to follow the wall to exit this room.
    
13. You'll find a set of stairs and another arch in the next room. Go through the arch and activate the switch then go up the stairs. At the top of the stairs, carefully follow the rightmost wall to find a hidden switch that will open a gate on this floor. Go through the gate to find a chest (1 Gem Fragment) and head back to Aricen.
    
14. Give Aricen the 7 Gem Fragments and he will combine them into Excalibur's Gem. Choose option 2, option 2, option 1, option 1 to get to a secret chest (Arcane Scepter) then talk to Aricen again. After you're done, Aricen will give you a Magic Key. Exit the ruins.

Chapter 5 - The Graveyard

With the Magic Key, we're able to open almost all of the doors in Camelot and Grailwood Village. Nonetheless, we'll ignore the doors for now and continue to the next area.

Enemy strategies

• Ghost - Use Cyclomaelstrom Cleave and Fira. Switch to Earth Attack at level 20.
  
• Spellbone Specter - Use Attack and Fira. Switch to Earth Attack at level 20.
  
• Abyss Spikefly - Use Cyclomaelstrom Cleave and Fira. Switch to Earth Attack at level 20.

Generally, you’ll want Jamie to first focus on any Spellbone Specters while Lancelot uses Cyclomaelstrom Cleave. By the time Jamie defeats the Spellbone Specter, the other enemies will have died or be greatly weakened by the repeated cleaves.

The enemies in this area can curse you, causing more damage than poison. Buy 2 Holy Charms and equip them to prevent curse (you might need to sell extra valuables, unused equipment or grind to afford them). Some of the enemies can also poison you but just use Cure Potions or equip/unequip the Poison Charm after battle to clear this status. Examining a unicorn will also cure all status ailments.

Walkthrough

1. Our next destination is the graveyard. To reach the graveyard, go back to your house. Cross the bridge then go up the stone stairs and veer left to another set of stone stairs. Go behind the dance club and follow the wooden dock back to land. Go past the large pile of barrels and cross the stone bridge to enter the graveyard.
   
2. Follow the stone path, veering left when you can. You'll eventually reach King Urther's grave. Activate the switch in his grave and continue following the stone path, passing under the stone arches and up the stone steps, passing a unicorn. This is a good place to grind to level 20 so that Lancelot will learn Earth Attack!
   
3. You'll see two buildings in this area. Head towards the larger one on the right and pass under the open gate. In the courtyard, you'll see Arthur being attacked by Thalindor. Confront Thalindor. Defeat the spikeflys then use Earth Attack on Thalindor. Jamie can focus using Fira on the flies/Thalindor and healing HP/MP when necessary.
   
4. Talk to Thalindor one more time then go into the building. Open the chest (Frili Silver Collar) then exit the graveyard.
   
5. If you haven’t yet reached level 25, stay in the graveyard and grind until you do. Reaching level 25 will get you the last skill for Lancelot, Wind Attack, which will help out later in the game.
   
6. Go to Asher's house (should be the first door you see after you exit the graveyard, right across from the stone bridge) and talk to Asher.

Chapter 6 - Camelot Revisited

Instead of a new dungeon, we now have to search all throughout Camelot to find the items that Asher requested. This is the required last task before the final dungeon.

Walkthrough

1. Exit Camelot and go back to Grailwood Village. There is only one door you can open with the Magic Key and inside is a chest (Glam Kit).
   
2. Go back to Camelot. First, let's take care of the Duncan’s Love sidequest. Cross the stone bridge and enter the house on the left that's up the first set of stone stairs. Talk to Duncan and receive Duncan's love letter. Exit then follow the left hand side, going down then immediately back up two sets of stone stairs, past two houses and a woman, up another set of stone stairs, past a large house and finally ending at a lone house overlooking the ocean. Enter the house and open the chest (10000 Gol) then talk to Agravain twice, telling him you have a letter from a sexy redhead. He will give you Agravain's love letter. Go back to Duncan's house and give him the letter who will give you a Celestial Archblade, the strongest weapon in the game.
   
3. Now you can start exploring Camelot fully to find the rest of the items Asher asked for as well as any extra goods lying around. It's hard to give exact directions but you should find:
   
   • Chest inside a house that is:
     
     • Next to stable - 20 Bread
       
     • Near Merlin's dungeon entrance - Glamorous Wig
       
     • With a blue-aproned lady outside somewhat near Merlin's dungeon entrance - Dazzling Gown
       
     • Next to Duncan's house - Statement Necklace
       
     • With a man and woman out front - 2000 Gol
       
     • Next door to the house above - 2000 Gol
       
     • Gawain's house (near Agravain's house; Gold Edition only) - 10000 Gol
       
     • Up the wooden stairs next to the graveyard entrance with a blue-aproned lady outside - Killer Heels
       
     • Below the couple ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on a crate - Sparkling Tiara
       
     • The Vase seller’s - 2,000 Gol
   • Chest outside that you can find:
     
     • Behind shop - 500 Gol
       
     • Up a set of wooden stairs next to the house with a man and woman out front - 500 Gol
       
     • Up a set of wooden stairs on Gwain's house (near Agravain's house) - 500 Gol
       
     • Next to the house with the Killer Heels - 500 Gol
4. Go back to Asher's house and deliver the items. He'll give you the Letter from Asher.
   
5. Finally go back to the shop and buy one Ethereal Chain (two if you can afford it) and equip them. Sell Bread, Poison and Holy Charms, and any of the enemy drops for extra Gol if needed. The Ethereal Chain will prevent all status effects and also boost your HP and MP.

Chapter 7 - Gwain's Nightmare

You don't have to complete this optional dungeon however, the rewards you get will be well worth your time.

Enemy strategies

• All of the enemies in this area are the same ones you faced before and follow the same strategies.
  
• For Demons, you can use Wind Attack as a faster kill strategy.
  
• For Wyverns, you can use Wind Attack as a faster kill strategy.
  
• For Anadragas, you can use Wind Attack as a faster kill strategy.

Walkthrough

1. Enter Gawain's house (house before Agravain's) and talk to Gawain.
   
2. Check the purple glowing fireplace and get transported to the dungeon. Checking the portal behind you will take you back to Gwain's house. Be sure to save here as it's easy to fall off of this map and get stuck.
   
3. Enter the castle and follow the leftmost wall. Take care of the "mysterious mushroom" blocking the doorway and open the 5 chests (5000 Gol, 5000 Gol, 10000 Gol, 5000 Gol, 5000 Gol). Keep following the leftmost wall and through another door for a chest (5000 Gol). If you weren’t able to buy the second Ethereal Chain, now would be a great time to do so!
   
4. Go back to the castle entrance and now follow the rightmost wall. Note the gate that you need another key for (call this Gate 2) and open the chest next to some barrels (5000 Gol). Continue following the wall and around some scaffolding to find another locked gate (call this Gate 1). Follow the wall some more and go up the stairs.
   
5. At the top of the stairs, cross the wooden bridge to your right then take the right path for a chest on top of the wooden scaffolding (Bronze key). One of the arches here hides a chest (5000 Gol).
   
6. Use the bronze key to open Gate 1. Open the chest (Silver key) then go to Gate 2 near the castle entrance. Open Gate 2 and activate the switch.
   
7. Go back to the top of the stairs and follow the stone path on your left. After crossing a wooden bridge and through a now-open gate, open the chest (Golden key).
   
8. Go back to the top of the stairs and search the tower for a hidden chest (5000 Gol) and cross the wooden bridge again. This time go left and then go straight in the tower for a chest (5000 Gol). Go back and take the left path and cross a wooden bridge next to a tree. After a while, you'll pass a chest (5000 Gol) and end up at another gate. Open the gate with the Golden key and walk up to the demon, Hakan. Start with Sorostab then continue with Wind Attack. Jamie should heal and use his regular attack. Defeat Hakan to get Gawain soul Fragment.
   
9. Before leaving the castle, you can find one last chest across from the base of the stairs and towards the right (5000 Gol). Take the red portal back to Gawain's house and talk to Gawain. He'll pay you 10000 Gol for your services.

Chapter 8 - The Barrier

Remember that Frili Silver Collar? Let’s use it!

Walkthrough

1. Head towards Grailwood Village but instead of entering the village, follow the rock wall behind the village sign. After much walking, you’ll find a strange barrier blocking the entrance to a cave.
   
2. Make sure you have restored your HP and MP then equip the Frili Silver Collar and walk into the barrier to dispel it.
   
3. Save, re-equip your Ethereal Chain then walk into the cave to trigger a battle with the Scorpion (aka Nosos). Lancelot should start with Sorostab then continue with Wind Attack. Jamie should defend and focus on healing. When Nosos gets to about 1/3 health, it can use an instant kill attack if you aren’t defending. Focus on defending and healing at this point and let Sorostab’s bleed work on the boss. With a little bit of luck, you’ll defeat Nosos and get 1 Golden Silk Vest and 1 Celestial Bulwark, the best armor in the game!

Chapter 8 - Merlin's Dungeon

This is it - the final dungeon!

Make sure both Lancelot and Jamie have their best equipment. It’s also a good idea to stock up on High Potion and Magic Potion just in case!

Enemy strategies

• Golem - Use Sorostab then Stormbound Voltstrike (to keep it stunned). Jamie should defend and heal.
  
• Axe Man - Usually you’ll face these guys in a group. Sorostab each of them and then focus on one with Stormbound Voltstrike to stunlock it. Jamie should defend and heal. If you manage to defeat them, you’ll get a lot of EXP!

Walkthrough

1. In the back of Camelot, talk to the guard. Show the Letter from Asher and he’ll let you through. Walk around the stone stairs and enter the large wooden double doors at the end of the path to enter Merlin’s Dungeon.
   
2. Go straight and into the room with the unicorn. Right when you walk through the arch, turn left and walk through the wall with a candle in front to find a chest (4700 Gol). Activate the switch near the unicorn and return to the entrance.
   
3. Go through the arch nearest the entrance and continue until you reach the small room with the statue. Open the chest (Rusty key) and then go around to the other side of the wall to find another chest (Ethereal Chain). Return to the unicorn room.
   
4. Go up the stairs, past the "mysterious mushroom", and continue to the end to find and activate another switch. Return to the room you found the Ethereal Chain.
   
5. Go down the stairs and through the now open gate. Go past the room with the round table until you finally find Merlin laying on some grass.
   
6. To the left of Merlin is the last unicorn. Refill your HP/MP then examine Merlin. You'll go into battle with the final boss! Lancelot should focus on the final boss by using Sorostab on the first turn and then Wind Attack. Jaime should focus on taking down the two Demons with Fira then healing HP and MP or defending. Once the final boss is defeated, talk to Merlin one last time. Congratulations, you beat the game!

Mysteries

At the top of the stairs before you enter Merlin’s Dungeon, an armored guard stops you from proceeding. He says you’ll need a pass to continue. Maybe we'll find out what he's hiding in the next game!

MDEF: +3 or +4

MATK and MDEF stats aren’t tracked by the game even though they show on the level up screen and in some equipment.
