Wood Cutting Walkthrough

Get an Axe

Basic Axe: Start with the Copper Axe, which is already in your starting inventory.

Upgrades: Later, craft more efficient axes (e.g. Iron, Silver, Gold Axes) using bars at the Anvil.

Find Trees

Common trees are found in surface biomes (Forest, Tundra, Jungle, etc.).

Approach the trunk and use the axe to hit the wooden blocks.

How to Chop

PC/Mobile: Click and hold on the trunk.

Console: Use the attack button aimed at the trunk.

Tip: Chop the base of the tree first to automatically chop it down.

Resource Gathering

Each chopped tree provides Wood (item) and sometimes Oak Seeds (for replanting).

Wood Crafting

Crafting Station: Use a Crafting Table to craft:

Structures: Doors, Chairs, Tables.

Tools: Bows, Wooden Armor.

Blocks: Platforms, Wooden Walls.

Advanced Tips

Replant Trees: Use Oak Seeds on Dirt/Grass blocks to create sustainable farms.

Special Axes: The Axe of Growth (found in Jungle chests) increases the chance of obtaining seeds.

Special Biomes: Trees in biomes such as Tundra (Pine) or Jungle (Ebony Wood) provide unique types of wood.

Quick FAQ

"I can't chop down trees!"

Make sure you're using an axe and not a pickaxe.

"Trees won't grow?"

Make sure there's vertical (16 blocks) and horizontal (2 blocks between seeds) space.
