Overview
Tanks, Tank Destroyers, LAV's and even the Assault Vehicles are so annoying at times. They snipe you from the other-side of the map, run you over, push you out of the capture point, alongside many other irritating things. I'm sure you have found yourself thinking;

'damn I wish I didn't have to deal with these vehicles every match'.

Well, today is your lucky day, follow this guide and i'll teach you how to destroy those pesky vehicles messing up your perfect match. The vehicle destruction points are pretty lucrative too, so it's worth doing even if you like being shot at by enemy vehicles!

How To Identify An Enemy Vehicle
There are many types of vehicles in Delta Force, including but not limited to; tanks, lav's, assault vehicles, tank destroyers, boats etc. These vehicles will be outlined in red, whereas a vehicle belonging to your own team will typically be green or blue.

There are two ways we can spot enemy vehicles;

The first option is to use our eyes and move our mouse to the left and right to see if we are able to spot any enemy vehicles on our screens. As you can see in the image above, the enemy vehicle is highlighted in red. The image below contains another example of an enemy tank, highlighted in red inside of a yellow circle for clearer visibility.

The second option is to check our mini-map. The mini-map is displayed in the top left corner of the screen. Enemy vehicles are highlighted in red, but on a much smaller scale. If you have trouble seeing smaller objects this option may not be for you.

(hopefully soon Delta Force will add more localisation options for us to change colours and the size of objects on our hud).

Please refer to the image below for what to look out for when attempting to identify enemy vehicles using the in-game mini-map.

Operator Selection

As you can see above, we have three operators we can choose from; Vyron, Shepard & Uluru. Each of these gamer boys have vehicle destruction capability, but the difference between the Engineer choice and the Assault choice, is assault is much more dangerous to engage with a vehicle, and engineer is the safer option.

The Assault Approach
So you chose Assault, the much funner option (in my opinion).

Vyron has the ability to use a Magnet Bomb; this is a high powered explosive device that sticks to objects which is necessary when throwing them towards a vehicle to destroy it. (this is of course, also effective when used on players). Vyron's Dynamic Propulsion System comes in very useful in close combat situations with vehicles. If timed correctly you can quickly dash away and avoid incoming enemy damage.

Now how do we utilise the Magnet Bomb?

Step #1 - Identify the enemy vehicle
Step #2 - Hold W and/or Shift to move quickly towards the enemy vehicle
Step #3 - When close enough, hold G and aim towards the enemy vehicle
Step #4 - Let go of G and watch the Magnet Bomb fly towards the enemy vehicle
Step #5 - Escape safely (optional - point reward compensates for the death)

If done correctly, or (incorrectly?) the results should look similar to the .gif below.

The Engineer Approach
So you chose Engineer, the boring option (in my opinion).

Shepard & Uluru have the ability to use an AT4 Launcher. The AT4 is a high-powered rocket launcher that has the capability to quickly dispatch of any annoying enemy vehicles that may be disrupting your match. It may not be very effective against players, but by using this launcher you can safely destroy vehicles from a distance, ensuring you receive much less enemy damage without needing to put yourself in direct line of sight of an enemy.

This gadget needs to be equipped into the 4th slot of your load-out. Please refer to the image below for an example, the 4th gadget slot is highlighted in the yellow box.

So how to we use the AT4 Launcher?

Step #1 - Identify the enemy vehicle
Step #2 - Press 4 and take out the launcher
Step #3 - Hold Mouse 2 and take aim at the enemy vehicle
Step #4 - When confident in the shot, press Mouse 1
Step #5 - Escape safely (optional - point reward compensates for the death)

If all steps are carried out correctly, the results should be similar to the .gif below.

Now Go Destroy Some Vehicles!
Good Luck, and don't reee if you fail, keep trying, you got this x

Just to add a note, each players key-binds may be different.

Please carefully read this guide and swap out any key-binds that may be different for your own. This guide is written with the default vanilla game key-binds with nothing changed. Everyone is different, perhaps you use X or 9 for Mouse 1, I wont judge.

love you x

There is also a engine section at the back of at least the tanks that can be disabled.

Huh, I just knew you can actually hit specific parts of the tank to decide what damage you want to do to it.

If only this guide was mandatory to read on first boot. really fucking amazing to be the only engineer in our team while the enemies have like 5 tanks and a heli deployed

@flathills As the author of the guide said, there are sections but the truth is, no matter where you shoot, you will always do the same damage.

@flathills Tanks for example are split into three sections, the gun, the body and the tracks. If you focus the tracks, you can slow/disable movement, focus the gun, you can disable it (but it sometimes does nothing at all). The sections of the vehicles are a bit janky when they take damage, i think its a bit of a bug right now but its intended to be as I described.

Hope that helps ♥

do vehicles have weak points like attacking from the rear, top, or from underneath? are there any lock on mechanisms in this game? like can recon lock onto a tank for a jet/chopper/boat/whatever else to hit it?
