Borgo Marina - Comprehensive Guide

A 100% completion guide to On Your Tail, includes (mostly) spoiler free puzzle solutions and clue locations for the entire main story with screenshots, as well as solutions and locations for many of the game's collectibles and challenges.

Introduction

This is my first Steam guide, it initially started as just personal note-taking, but then evolved into something more. Hopefully this will help someone on their vacation to Borgo Marina.

Below you'll find a complete guide to the main story, with screenshots of every clue location as well as all of the constellations, puzzle solutions, photo challenges, ingredients and more. Even an address book to Borgo Marina that I made for my own personal reference.

Mysteries

Below are the solutions and clue locations for the entire main story.
Bold indicates a person
Italics indicate a location

The Lost Keys

Speak to the Pensive Girl, then use the Chronolens to find the two clues:

-The items on the hood, found on the hood of the car, next to the Pensive Girl.

-The map on tree, found in the tree, next to the Pensive Girl.

Play the cards in the following order to solve this mystery:

-Items on the hood
-Map on tree

Theft at Villa De Montoni

After speaking with Orlando, you'll be tasked with investigating the villa. Use the Chronolens to find the following clues:


-The open chest, next to the piano on the first level of the villa.


-The messy drawers, on the second level of the villa, below a large painting, set between two bookshelves.


-The books on the ground, opposite the previous clue.

Return to Orlando, he will then direct you to Chea's workshop in Porto Vecchio
Head to Foto & Foto and have Paun follow you, in order to complete Chea's errand.
Once completing Chea's errand, return to her to recieve the final clue.

The Perfect House

Speak with Gemma at Piazzale Miramare
Visit each of the potential candidates for your new home, the fastest order is:
-#7 Via Maria Del Mare
-#3 Piazza Santa Margherita
-#1 Via Italia
-#4 Piazzale Miramare (Mamma Lucia's Trattoria)

Theft at Mamma Lucia's

Speaking with Mamma Lucia will start a new mystery, after hearing her story, use the Chronolens to find the clues below:

-The hat on the ground, next to the front counter of the resturaunt.

-The messy cupboard, opposite the entrance.

-The chair out of place, opposite Mamma Lucia.

Play the cards in the following order to solve this mystery:

The Perfect House (cont.)

After taking care of matters at Mamma Lucia's, return to Gemma.

Play the cards in the following order to solve this mystery:

Without a Trace

After exiting Mamma Lucia's, you'll need to gather clues:
-Speak with the bored girl
-Knock on #1 Piazzale Miramare
Now use the Chronolens to discover the following:

-The broken branches next to #5 Piazzale Miramare

-The missing boat on the beach

Accuse the Major

After completing the scavenger hunt, interview everyone present at Forte Esterin, then use the Chronolens to find the following clues:

-The open crate, with the life preserver and bundle of rope next to it

-The rope on the ground/stairs, next to Paun

-The footprints in the sand, next to the stairs in front of Paun, next to the hand truck

-Giovanna on the rocks - Strolling Giovanna + Footprints on the Sand
-Children sent out
-Paun runs on the walkway - Paun runs after a photo + Removed rope

The Colored Statue

Using the Chronolens, look for the following clues:

-The yellow paint bucket, next to the half-painted yellow fence.

-The lemons on the ground, in the same area as the previous clue.

-The large, red tractor. Pretty hard to miss.

-The chicken wearing a red hat, in the same area as the tractor.

The Farmer's Cellar

Enter the cellar and locate the clues below using your Chronolens:

-The clear bottle laying on it's side on the shelf behind the stairs leading into the cellar.

-The rug in the center of the floor in the room to the immediate left of the previous clue.

-The paint cans and white spots on the floor in the only room we haven't explored yet.

Church Attack

Upon entering the church, you'll be greeted with another mystery. Equip your Chronolens and find the clues:

-The shifted bench at the front row of the pews.

-Opposite the shifted bench, there is a piece of debris on the ground.

-Directly in front of the previous clue, there is a candlestick knocked over on the ground.

-Approach the altar, more candlesticks knocked over.

-Look next to the altar, there is a vase containing purple flowers knocked over.

-Moving away from the altar, there is a closed door next to another vase full of purple flowers. The door itself is our target.

Play the cards in the following order to solve this mystery:

-Hid behind the pulpit - Damaged pulpit + Hiding places
-Pushed into the vase - Overturned vase + Shoving
-Jumped behind the altar - Altar in disarray + Hiding places
-Pushed into the candelabra - Candlestick on the ground + Shoving

Interrogation #2

INTERROGATING RACILIO

Combine the following cards:

Racilio is very superstitious and deferential.

After arriving at Villa Fidato with the skeleton key, you'll need to find the clues below with your Chronolens:

-The abandoned car, kind of hard to miss.

-The briefcase at the front door of the villa.

-The footprints in the grass, just to the left of the front door of the villa.

Play the cards in the following order to solve this mystery:

-Someone arrived with a suitcase
-Luggage outside the house
-Abandoned car
-Fire at the villa
-Tracks under the porch

INTERROGATING LEXUA

Combine the following cards:

Arriving back at Villa Fidato, head to the side of the villa facing the gate leading the woods, enter the villa, then use the Chronolens to locate the following:

-The fallen beam, blocking the front door of the villa.

-The fire poker, next to the fireplace.

-The overturned cabinet, laying in the middle of the room.

-The wall safe, on the wall opposite the front door.

-The broken golf club, at the bottom of the stairs.

-The luggage on the stairs.

Play the cards in the following order to solve this mystery:

-The fire started in the dining room
-Suitcase on the stairs
-Broken fire poker + Lexua's scar / Lexua is hit
-Broken golf club + Overturned furniture / Moira flips the cabinet over

A Mystery at Home

After arriving back at Diana's Room, use the Chronolens to find the following clues:

-Diana's bed.

-Diana's desk and the alarm clock on the floor.

-Diana's closet, slightly ajar.

While earning money in Borgo Marina, you essentially need to fully complete all of the jobs in order to unlock all of the achievements.

	You've Got Mail	Deliver your first letter	Refer to the Letters and Packages section of this guide for assistance
	The Postwoman Always Rings Twice	Deliver all the letters	Refer to the Letters and Packages section of this guide for assistance
	Satisfied Customers	Complete all levels of the waitress minigame	Skill-based achievement, simply progress through enough days to unlock and complete all levels of the waitress minigame
	Labors of the Land	Help Adriano at the farm	After assisting Adriano , travel to him and ask to help him around the farm.
	Gelato Maître D'	Sell 5,000 servings of gelato	Play plenty of the gelato minigame, I believe you have to be present in the gelateria for this to progress.

Earning all of the friendship-based achievements will require you to max out every possible relationship.
Activity-based achievements will require completion of the minigames.

	Ready Steady Cook	Cook your first recipe	Progressing friendship with a couple of characters will require you to cook. Refer to the Recipes section of this guide for assistance.
	Catch Them All	Catch all the fish	Refer to the Fishing section of this guide for assistance.
	Nose in the Air	Observe a constellation	Requires the telescope, you must complete the minigame in order to obtain this achievement. Refer to the Constellations section of this guide for assistance.
	Stellar Explorer	Observe all the constellations	Requires the telescope, you must complete all of the minigames in order to obtain this achievement. Refer to the Constellations section of this guide for assistance.
	The Queen of Marbles	Win on all marble tracks	Skill-based achievement, take all of the eligible followers to the marble track and beat them. Some of these tracks are trivial and some (Paun's) can be quite tricky. My advice: Use shortcuts wherever you can.

	Home Cinema	Watch a movie with a friend	Purchase the television from the beach corner store, a film from the video store, then invite someone over to watch it.
	Top Score	Beat the record on World Out There at the arcade	Skill-based achievement, no tricks here as far as I can tell, just make sure you watch your back and try to stay alive. Far easier when done with mouse and keyboard.
	Bounce After Bounce	Win against a friend in skipping stones	Progressing friendship with a couple of characters requires you to play this at least once.
	Let’s Sit Down a While	Visit ten different Rest Spots with a friend	Simply move around town with someone as your follower and rest everywhere you can.
	The Nice Guy	Reach the maximum level of friendship with Paun	Complete all of Paun's friendship quests.
	On-Again, Off-Again	Reach the maximum level of friendship with Adriano and Cecilia	Complete all of Adriano and Cecilia's friendship quests. Likely requires the telephone. As once you progress to a certain point with them, they'll call you in the morning.

After extensive testing, I've found this can appear in most areas when boating, I've found it as far out as around Forte Esterin, but it's pretty common to find east of Lexua's Hideaway/Rocky Isle, I have also found several of them consistently while fishing at Lexua's Hideaway/Rocky Isle itself

-When boating, you normally cannot access your mind palace, but if you pull out your fishing rod, then press "E" you can. Helpful when collecting the fish.

-The fastest money making method for me post-game was fishing up necklaces at Lexua's Hideaway/Rocky Isle

-Working at the gelateria can net a bit of extra cash every day, after working out some of the recipes I net over 2k a day. Here are the gelato recipes (x, y) I figured out:

I do not unfortunately. I know for certain I have found the anglerfish in spots other than the one from the lords of the sea (just by fishing around while boating) and I have found the scorpionfish at the location given multiple times. I should say, this was the result of hours of fishing at various locations, so your experience will vary.

Do you have any other tips for fishing? Only fish I need are the Angler and Scorpionfish, but fishing where the great angler was is really only getting me seaweed and the occasional small fish, and the hideaway seems to be giving me just about every single other fish but not the one i need

Paun's track is #1 - Warm-up track

Defeating everyone at least once should unlock #3 - Space fort track

I'm able to play against everyone on #3 after unlocking it, I recommend beating everyone again, sleeping to advance time, resetting the game, etc. If none of this works, I'd assume it's a bug.

However. I still can't get any new marble race tracks. Beating none of my companions unlocks any new tracks.

Added a Lords of the Sea map
I'm convinced there is a small chance to catch at least the angler and grouper while boating anywhere in Mar Ligure, as I have caught them away from these locations, but many have reported luck fishing around those spots.
