Generally you want to prioritise buildings that prioritise utility, and only get 2-3 towers.

Your focus should be on getting click storage and click factories, as these allow you to snowball to the point where you won't need quarries or lumbercamps, since you'll just be able to click for resources.

Early game (after you have most upgrades)
1-10

Once you've unlocked most of the items in the shop, your early game may look something like this:

I.e.
Focus on building mines (anywhere nearby) and click factories.

Note: You can get through the first two waves with no towers, and the third wave with just spikes. After that you'll probably want to build 4 towers, one on each corner of the castle.

10-50

After that you'll want to:
- find space to build each lategame area as shown elsewhere in this guide
- use sniper towers or clicks to kill nearby portals until only the unclickable portals are left.
Build goal
You want to end up with a build that looks something like this:

(I've only keep the farming area for the example. Once you have enough food you can ditch it.)

Castle area

  • Castle
  • Reloader
  • Repair station
  • Manager
  • Collector (optional)
  • Mortician (optional)
  • Towers (4-10)

Your reloader should be close as possible to your castle, so it can reload the towers. Same for your repair station. (I'd put it closer but it won't let me).

Laser towers are a great option here since their bullets will hit every enemy in the same direction.

In the early game you can often skip turrets and outposts entirely and just get 1-4 watch towers (and lots of spikes) and that will last you until the midgame.

Farming area

  • Manager
  • Farmhouse
  • Warehouse
  • Farm (many)

This will give you more food than you need.

Optimally this is somewhere wolves can't get to it, as they make a b-line to destroy your farms. If wolves do destroy your farms, it isn't a big deal as farms are easy to replant.

Click factory area

  • Manager (1-3)
  • Click factory (many)

Beware: each factory you add gets more and more expensive. When you have ~40 factories, you're definitely set.

If you want to automate them entirely, it's worth doing 12-14 click factories packed around a single manager, like so:

Click storage area

  • Click storage (many)

You should be constantly be increasing your click storage to match your click production. You can hover the mouse icon in the top left hand corner of the screen to see watch your production is.

Tower area

  • Reloader
  • Repair
  • Manager
  • Mortician (optional)
  • Towers (many)

Your towers:
  • short range - next to the road (e.g. turret/outpost/bomb tower)
  • medium range - beside your buildings (e.g. brick tower/freeze tower)
  • long range - behind your buildings (optional; sniper tower)

Paths and portals

  • Spikes (many)
  • Tar (near towers)

Spikes alone will kill 80% of enemies, and they're super cheap. So it's important to have them where enemies will walk. But once they get in range of your towers, tar is better.

Note: You can put a mortician + warehouse where enemies are dying on the spikes to farm their drops.

Note: You will not be able to loot the bodies of enemies who die in tar.
