How to disable mouse acceleration and smoothing

Do you ever feel like your aim is slightly off?
Do you feel like the aiming has input delay and is clunky in Marvel Rivals?
Well, It's not just you. Mouse smoothing and mouse acceleration is on by default and currently, there is no way to disable it from the settings menu, so you have to edit the game's configuration file yourself to disable these options.

So here's how you do it.

They've added the ability to disable mouse smoothing and acceleration in the settings, and it's off by default now.

In addition, I got an anticheat error because of the edited file, so If you're getting the "The anti-cheat is currently inactive" error, verify your game files from Properties -> Installed Files -> Verify integrity of game files

If it's still broken, just take out the lines that are below.

Also, If you're on Linux, you need to use SteamDeck=1 %command% to run the game at all now, so be aware.

Step 1

Go to this directory from your file manager:

Windows:

C:\Users\${yourname}”\appdata\local\marvel\saved\config\windows

Linux / Steam Deck (Proton):

${steamDir}/steamapps/compatdata/2767030/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/Marvel/Saved/Config/Windows

Make sure to substitute your username for ${yourname} and your steam library directory for ${steamDir}

Step 2

Edit GameUserSettings.ini with notepad or any other text editor and add:

[/script/engine.inputsettings]
bEnableMouseSmoothing=False
bViewAccelerationEnabled=False

At the end of the file and save.

You can now restart your game and start aiming like a pro.

maybe go into Properties -> Compatbility -> Force the use of a specific Proton compatibility tool -> Choose Proton 9.0-3

yes, I know, but it's related to working w game on fairly low level since it needs some file like settings xml to run correctly, there's some games that are able to be run that way, they do have anticheat too

This is an online game, even if you were somehow launch the game without steam you'd get caught by the anticheat... and I'm pretty sure this isn't related to this guide

is there a way of launching launcher.exe through something like .bat and injecting it with arguments so running steam is not needed? maybe you'll manage to figure this one out
