ROBLOX 2007 Player Model

Descrição
Note: this player model likely does not work in DirectX 8, as it was made using a special compiler (NekoMDL, originally made for Left 4 Dead 2) to bypass material limits.
You are free to use tools to decompile this addon and make your own edits if you want, or even continuing the project beyond 2007.

Anyways, with that said...
Party like it's 2007!

After 2+ weeks of trying to get this to work right, I have finally finished this.

This is a player model based on the player characters ROBLOX used back in 2007, prior to shirts, pants, gears, packages, heads, faces etc. being added. I tried to make it as accurate as possible, though some inaccuracies cannot be fixed.

Features:
  • 9 hat set player models, 153 hats total (every single 2007 hat, a few backports of 2008 - 2010 hats, and 2 original hats)
  • 64 t-shirts shared in all hat sets (a chunk of which are imported from Novetus)
  • 32 classic part colors (including light orange, which was seemingly missing from the character customization page in 2007)
  • Bonus zombie player model with extra faces
  • Bonus player model with preset players (no, I am not putting your modern avatar in there)
  • Unique third person animations
  • Death sound and third person jump sound
  • Colorable C Arms (via Enhanced PlayerModel Selector - Fesiug's Edit)
  • Breaks upon death (ragdoll also breaks, but can be re-assembled, or even put into a Stand Pose using an appropriate addon)

To-do:
  • Option to input and wear faces & t-shirts (or really any image) from ROBLOX catalog ID's (I am not a programmer, but it could be possible given what the Steve player model does with grabbing Minecraft skins). They would be in a new "ROBLOX" tab in the player model selector. Lambda Players would instead randomly pick from a premade list of ID's for classic t-shirts (unless set in their profile), since they aren't conscious
  • Reduce the part bodygroup model count to 1 each, and use a colorization script with 2007 character colors as options also in the "ROBLOX" tab. This would hopefully allow limbs to be colored independantly without the bodygroup randomization bug happening, and allow me to combine the hat sets together to reduce the amount of them. It may also allow me to correct the surface texture positions without any color spill. Once again, I would need to learn how to program in Lua for this
  • Separate player model without custom animations for PAC3 compatibility (may also use a ragdoll instead of falling apart)

Q&A
How do I change the C Arms color?
  1. Get this: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2257795841
  2. Select the "ROBLOX 2007 Player" player model, whatever hat set that has the hat you want.
  3. Click on the "Hands" tab, and scroll down until you see something that looks blocky and white. That should be the C Arms the player model has. Click on it, and then click on "Apply Playermodel".
  4. A new "Handgroups" tab should appear. Click on it, and you'll see a slider where you can change the color of your C Arms, just like the other body parts. Choose your color, and then click "Apply Playermodel" once more.
  5. Garry's Mod usually resets your player model (including the C Arms) if it crashes and you weren't already using it. I recommend to disconnect or even quit, and then relaunch the game and go back to the map you were in, so that way your player model will be truly saved.
How do I change my colors / hat / t-shirt?
Open up your player model menu, and look for the "Bodygroups" tab. Everything is determined by a slider.
Why are the arms and legs symmetrical?
They are symmetrical because when I tried to make them asymmetrical, a bug would happen from there being too many models loaded into the bodygroups; all of the other bodygroups (parts, hats and t-shirts) would be randomized, and there was no fix to this other than to make the arms and legs symmetrical. Very few people have asymmetrical characters anyways, so it's not a huge deal.
Why do the arms move the wrong way when landing?
Source Engine is difficult to work with. It tries to blend animations together in a way that only really works for more complex ones.
Why are there 9 sets of hats? Can't they all be in one?
The hats are split into 9 sets for the same reason as the arms and legs being symmetrical; a bug that caused bodygroup randomization happened, and there was no other fix to this.
Can you add any more hats and t-shirts?
No. This player model is already pushing the limits of the engine. 153 hats is enough, and that already covers every hat from 2007. As for the t-shirts, once again I can't add more because the bodygroup randomization bug may happen.
Why are some of the weapons rotated or tilted weirdly, including the rocket launcher?
Unfortunately, a lot of weapon models are rotated/tilted themselves to work with the standard animations you see on the default player models and NPC's. There is nothing I can do about this, and getting the weapons to show up in front of the hand properly was very difficult and time consuming in the first place.
Why do the sitting animations for the vehicles not work?
I have no clue. The sitting animation plays on seats and while noclipping (mimicking the old "Fly" tool), but not vehicles. This does not apply to Lambda Players however, who display the sitting animation in vehicles.
Shouldn't the camera be parented to the head when you die, and shouldn't the hats also fall off?
Yes, and this is another one I cannot fix. There doesn't seem to be a way for me to determine which body part the camera gets parented to, and the feature of breaking apart upon death was completely random when I was messing around with compiling. I have not been able to replicate the feature at all, so I had to use the physics file from a slightly older rig.
Why are the textures slightly off?
Source and Blender have an issue where the UV's aren't pixel perfect. If I made the textures 1:1 scale, then the other colors would seep through on the sides (this still technically happens from a distance if you have anisotropic filtering enabled). I spent hours looking into this, but found no fix. The inaccuracies are so minor anyways, so just be glad you've got what you've got.
Something's not working! Why?
You probably have conflicting addons. Try disabling them all, and enable this one first, and then enable the rest one by one until you come across whatever is causing issues. Process of elimination is time consuming, but it works.
Does this work with Lambda Players?
Yes, at least Lambda Players Reborn. They will animate, have sounds and even break apart if using the player models. If there are any bugs with this, then they may be caused by another addon, as Lambda Players Reborn has no issues with the player models for me. You may also have their settings modified in a way that could cause issues with the animations. Meanwhile, Zeta Players handles animations weirdly, so they look odd in that addon.

do you need the enhanced playermodel selector? cuz I have one but it's a different version, as in it's made by a different person and blah blah blah, so my question is do we necessarily need this exact player model selector or is it compatable with other ones (ex. Enhanced Playermodel Selector - With Localization Support (Based on Fesiug's Edit))?

Nice to see another playermodel with custom animations on here!
Good work on this btw, custom animations are painful to get working nicely.

You could use the sit anim for the vehicle anim.
