YOMI HUSTLE COMMON ISSUES FAQ (and common general problems

This game definitely works.

This guide was made to help have it work but for real this time.

If you run into an issue with this game at all, simply say "Thanks Ivysly"

MODDED: This character shows up as null, and entering the match crashes my game. Why?

Your character cache is being funny and isn't reading the mod right. Simply go to the main menu once you open the game again, and in options, click delete character cache. This WILL close the game and IS normal. When closing the game, having a habit of doing this naturally is generally a good thing.

UPDATE May 29th, 2025: A mod was released a while ago to clear cache when closing the game at all, but is not 100% consistent.

MODDED: I can't play this mod with a friend, but we both have the mod downloaded.

Mods will update occasionally (or extremely often), and Steam will sometimes not update the mod for you when opening the game, or just give you the wrong version when "updating." The former can be resolved by going to the Steam Library page, going to the cog icon in the top left corner, below the page's banner, clicking "properties," clicking on "Installed Files," and finally clicking on "Verify integrity of Game Files." This will update your mods. The latter is generally just do the method described just now but add the extra step of pray

GENERAL: Popup says I'm missing something

Some mods have dependencies that are required in order for the mod to work. These dependencies are usually (if not always) another mod. The most common instance of this issue is with Custom Stage Loader and various stage mods. Custom Stage Loader can be downloaded on the Steam Workshop.

GENERAL: My game crashes when clicking on menus.

You're opening and closing menus too fast. Yes this is an actual thing. Yes it's stupid. Yes no one should get used to it. No idea when a fix is gonna arrive, I don't work for the big guy Ivysly

UPDATE May 29th, 2025: This bug was mostly fixed ages ago, but do be warned.

GENERAL (MODDED): Opening replays crashes my game.

You have a mod that breaks replay files and is crashing your game. Turn off your wifi to remove Steam Cloud Saving and delete replays. To find replays folder, press Windows Key + R, in the popup, type "%appdata%," (You can also just open the search bar for Windows and look for the "Run" app) and open the folder named "Your Only Move Is HUSTLE." Finally, open the folder named replays, and remove all files.

GENERAL: I'm stuck in "Requesting Lobby Data"

Grab a latte or reopen the game.

GENERAL: My game is absurdly laggy for almost no real reason.

This game was built on hopes, dreams, and a glue made of mayo, cheese, and soggy crackers. Just restart your machine, this fixes the issue temporarily. Other times, mods are just laggy. (Director by THExplosion24 is a prime example) In these instances, just going to options and turning off particle auras usually works.

GENERAL: I have (X) Issue and it's not in this guide.

GENERAL: Entering a match will sometimes force me to load a mod I didn't select

You watched a replay or spectated a match. As of Jan. 17th, 2025, a bug persists where spectating a match or watching a replay will force the game into "loading" either of the 2 last used character mods. You must restart your game to fix this, and cannot enter matches or play singleplayer until such has happened.

UPDATE: May 29th, 2025: A mod was released a while ago that fixes this issue. Just look up "replay bug fix" or something

Note: It seems some folks over at Russia have an issue with playing this game. I am not fully aware of the cause, as I'm not from that region, but there was a weird "controversy" regarding some form of VPN that caused lobbies to break, and was just sorta... killed off by Ivysly somehow? (for yomi specifically).

Painfully play from russian. I can't open the game. The game starts, but crashes immediately, but if I run the game as an administrator, then the game starts, but there is no connection with steam.
