Navigation Errors

This simple guide is to help you out if you run into starting up the game with an error or unable to load into the map.

Note: This guide may/will change if new information is brought to me.

Things you can do before creating a "HELP TICKET".

Hi there! Tammi here again with another guide. Again, I'm not part of the Lovecraft team so these are just some things that has helped me out in the past while playing the game. It's also great to know some of the different Errors/Loading Screens and what you can do for each one.

Initial Screen to Enter
So here is the normal screen that you would see when you start up the game. Your avatar, the bright yellow/gold button on the bottom right corner of the screen to "Enter City".


Standard Loading Screen
This here is the normal loading screen, or at least one of them. What SHOULD happen is that your avatar will load up into the map "PURPLE NIGHTCLUB" after a few seconds. If it doesn't then some here are some ideas of what to do.

1) Press the refresh button on the top left corner of the screen OR the "F5" button. This will refresh the page, and hopefully the map will load in.

2) All players will load into the same map "PURPLE NIGHTCLUB", so it may be laggy or have issues. Try loading into a different map using the search bar in the top center of the screen. You can enter in vww:/en.lovecraftgame.com/XY which will take you into the "XY" map. If it doesn't work, then there maybe be a deeper issue with the game.

2.5) If you are having trouble loading into the map, click on the 3 dots icon in the top right corner of the screen and then "Clear Cache", then close out of the game and restart it. From the initial screen with your avatar, try entering in vww:/en.lovecraftgame.com/XY and then press the "Enter" key. Then press the "ENTER CITY" button. If it takes more than 10 seconds to load in, press "F5".




Server Maintenance
It is rare, but there will be times when the server needs work. Thankfully not as much as before in the early months when the game originally came out, but still happens. Unfortunately...you can't do anything about this. You can/should join the Lovecraft Discord for up-to-date information about the game/server maintenance status from the people working on it themselves or other players who are constantly checking in for you.


In short) Pressing "F5" will help 90% of the time. But if after more than 15 seconds you don't load in, press it again and wait. If not, then try going into a different map. Finally, check in with the Lovecraft Discord Server to see if there is a game wide issue and work is being done.

Asset Error
I just came across this and here is what I found out. This is just for the map you load into, in this case "Purple Nightclub". If you enter a different map's URL in the search bar, you can enter the new map. If you try to go back to the "Asset Error" map, you will not be able to enter...or you can if you're lucky and the issue resolved itself. But you can just restart the game and the map should work (of course do a "Clear Cache" before you restart).

Hi, Executor! So I know that there are server crashes that happen, and when it does, you will be seeing those "navigation errors". It's best to just join the Lovecraft Discord server for up-to-date info about the server/game.

hi tammy thanks for the guide, if still loading but the screen told us navigation error what happened about that?
