The Opticor:
The Opticor is a Corpus laser cannon introduced in Update 15.

While charging, the trigger can be released at 50% charge to do the rated damage. If fully charged the weapon will fire immediately for double the rated damage. If the beam strikes terrain rather than an enemy's body, it creates a radial burst of damage centered on its site of impact. This explosion deals half the damage of the beam itself at the center, with damage reducing over distance.

Before we get started if you do enjoy the guide remeber to leave a rating at the end, and maybe a comment that could improve the guide.

First the Opticor must be build within the Energy Lab of the dojo, it will require:

600 Cryotic
1 Forma

Crit Damage: 200%
Status Chance: 15%

Charged:
1000 Physical Damage
100 Impact
850 Puncture
50 Slash

The Opticor could be build towards critical damage but in my opinion I don't think it is worth it as you will be sacrificing elements.
The weapon is also completely silent. (But who really cares. its a freaking laser gun)
You may think the weapon has travel time because of the laser but it is in fact hit-scan and has pinpoint accuracy so works great as a sniper.
One of the only problems will have to be the really slow charge up time but once you get a speed trigger on, its fine.
The Weapon has a nice AoE if shot at the ground which does about half the damage of a direct hit on a enemy, which is nice but can become very underwhelming in late game
Modding VS Void/Infested:
When I mod I tend to use the same builds for both Void and Infested:

Max Serration of course for damage
Heavy Calibur (Note you can max heavy cal if you want but you will have to use a lower rank elemental mod, i just keep mine at rank 7 so the accuracy of other weapon builds are not affected)
Split Chamber for that double damage and nice looking split beam
Speed Trigger to the charge time up

Elements:

Toxin and Electric for Corrosive for those Heavy Gunners
Fire for those lighter units and even more damage VS Heavy Gunners

For more of a DPS build:

All you have to do is replace Thermite Rounds for Vile Acceleration (Note you will lose 15% damage but its really not much) 90% extra fire rate / 15% less damage

Shred Build:

Using Shred on the weapon works great as well, you lose a bit of DPS but it is really not noticeable.

All you wanna do is switch out Speed Trigger for Shred, we do this because we lose less DPS if we were to take out Vile Acceleration.
The Shred mod will give you 1.2 Punchthrough with the weapon which is really nice for Crowd Control and you are even able to shoot through an enemy and still get the AoE effect from the weapons beam
Modding VS Grineer:
For Grineer same as last keep all your damage mods and speed trigger, only thing changed are the elements:

Cold and Toxin for Viral for pretty much all the Grineer faction but most importantly Bombards and Napalms
Fire and Electric for Radiation for those smaller units and extra damage for Bombards and Napalms

For more DPS:

Replace Stormbringer for Vile Acceleration. 90% extra fire rate / 15% less damage

Shred Build:

Just replace Speed Trigger with Shred for more CC but -30% Fire Rate.
Modding VS Corpus:
Finally modding VS Corpus:

Cold and Electric for Magnetic for those machine enemies including moa's and corpus shields
Toxin alone for penetrating the corpus flesh unit shields to damage their health directly

For DPS:

Replace Malignant Force with Vile Acceleration. 90% extra fire rate / 15% less damage

Shred Build:

Simply replace Speed Trigger for Shred for more CC but -30% less Fire Rate.

End:
Overall, the Opticor is a great weapon when fully modded, I was a big fan of those bow weapons and its one of my most used but since this weapons came out I've been using it non stop, I haven't done any math but it feels like this weapon beats the Paris Prime <(pls don't scream, just my opinion)

Personally I prefer the DPS build, yes less damage but that extra fire rate is really nice and you will really notice the difference in speed

If you love laser cannons with AoE and long/short range high damage you should give this gun a try....

If you enjoyed the guide leave a rating, and maybe a comment that could help improve the guide.

I've put on the speed mods on my opticor (vile acceleration, speed trigger and shred) and still can't get down past 0.8 on charge time, whereas I see yours is 0.3. How on earth do you do it?

man i think piercing caliber isn't a bad mod to put in... from 3k to 6-7k piercing damage

@Below, you two do realize the Ogris got nerfed, ammo-wise? It has 25 total rockets now, and picks up sniper ammo.
tb_eest 2014年11月10日 11時52分
Have you ever used the ogris? 2 second (unmodded) charge time, massive explosions and damage, 4 or 5 clip size, 540 ammo. its a suicidal grineer-lab weapon.

@T:Bones The reason i feel it will get nerfed is because it does damage inline with bows and thats pretty insane, you simply can't 'ever' run out of ammo on the opticor which is kinda stupid.

i see your nice guide but i also see this: "Max ammo: 540 <will probably be nerfed". have you ever used an ogris? rifle type rocket launcher with hold trigger. 540 ammo. any rifle type weapon has 540 ammo, otherwise it isnt a rifle anymore. snipers, always have 30 ammo. most pistols have 200 something. the ammo wont be nerfed.

A lot of people do think shred works better, therefore i'm gonna be adding another set of builds for shred users.

I think the top damage build is tha mistake, take one of elemental mods of and give shread. That is teh build that i use easly on T4's. + when +120% puncture mods i will use corrosive-puncture build, i will replace fire for puncture.

those numbers look like the damage my dread does...
which is scary, when you think about it.
