Advanced Infernus Guide

This guide will help you better understand Infernus and his kit

Hello everyone! I'm an Archon 6 player with most of my games being on Infernus. I love the character and have been mastering him since I started playing. Infernus has always intrigued me with his unique playstyle and his ability to control the battlefield with his powerful abilities.

Through countless hours and many intense matches, I've developed strategies and techniques that
have helped me succeed with Infernus. I’m excited to share my knowledge and experiences with
you through this comprehensive guide.

Here’s my guide on Infernus:

Infernus is a powerful AOE character in Deadlock. He can deal massive damage over time and control your games with his abilities while sustaining a lot. Also He's one of the best characters to come back with, since he's farming so well.

• Catalyst(1): Spew napalm that slows enemy movement and amplifies damage. Upgrades include an extra charge, lifesteal, and damage amplification.
  
  
  
  
• Flame Dash(2): Move forward at high speed, leaving a flame trail that burns enemies. Upgrades include fire rate slow, increased DPS, and reduced cooldown.
  
  
  
  
• Afterburn(3) - Passive: Bullets build up to apply a burning effect on enemies. Upgrades increase burn duration, damage, and reduce enemy spirit damage.
  
  
  
  
• Concussive Combustion(4) - Ult: Ultimate ability that deals AoE damage and stuns enemies. Upgrades include reduced cooldown, increased stun duration, and lifesteal.

• Versatile Flame Dash: Deals huge damage, debuffs enemies, and serves as both engage and escape tool.
• Afterburn Synergy: Applies debuffs like fire rate reduction and spirit damage reduction, making it highly effective against enemies.
• Catalyst Debuffs: Applies damage amplification and movement slow, crucial for controlling fights.
• Crowd Control: Concussive Combustion provides a powerful AoE stun.
• Effective Teamfighter: Excels in teamfights with AoE DoT effects and sustain.
• Effective Split Pusher: Fast waveclear and jungle clear make him excellent at split pushing.

• Lack of Burst Damage: Relies on DoT (Damage over Time) and lacks immediate burst.
• Flame Dash Reliance: Requires careful management of Flame Dash for engaging or escaping.

1. Flame Dash: Two points early for an early power spike.
2. Afterburn: Max out for increased DPS and debuffs.
3. Flame Dash: Final point for cooldown reduction.
4. Concussive Combustion: One point for cooldown reduction.
5. Catalyst: Two points for lifesteal and extra charge.
6. Concussive Combustion: Max out for maximum effectiveness.
7. Catalyst: Final point for additional damage amplification.

Alternative Ability Order

• Burn Combo: Start with Afterburn, Flame Dash through the enemy, and use Catalyst.
• Ultimate Combo: Start shooting at enemies, if you have Ricochet you should have procced your passive on the enemy team at this point. Activate Concussive Combustion and start your Flame dash, once you're close to the enemy team use your Catalyst to deal extra damage and apply damage amp. At this point your Ult (Concussive Combustion) should go off for ultimate boom.

• Early Game: Enduring Spirit, Basic Mag, Infuser.
• Mid Game: Soul Shredder Bullets, Enduring Spirit, Mystic Vulnerability.
• Late Game: Leech, Improved Armors, Inhibitor, Ricochet, Crippling Headshot.
• Situational: Duration Extender, Quicksilver Reload, Shadowweave.

• Early Game: Use Afterburn and Catalyst for poke until you can all-in once they're low. Use Infuser + Flame Dash to wave clear and get some healing back. Make sure to proc passive on enemies first for maximum heal.
• Wave Clear: Use Flame Dash to clear large waves efficiently.
• Aggression: Don't be afraid to engage enemies with Catalyst and Flame Dash.

• Teamfights: Infernus excels in teamfights due to his AoE DoT effects and sustain.
• Split Pushing: Effective at split pushing because of his fast waveclear and jungle clear.
• Jungle Clearing: Use Flame Dash and Afterburn to quickly clear jungle camps.
• Objective Control: Utilize ultimate and Flame Dash for securing midboss and denying opponents.

@Lyphia You wanna start the fight with your 1 so it's pointless to buy qs. Besides (maybe I should've put that in the guide), when you start the fight with shooting bullets you can press reload and use flame dash. Your champion will start reloading your weapon during flame dash so you basically get a free reload while dealing damage and running around. Hope this explains my thought process well.

@Lyphia You wanna start the fight with your 1 so it's pointless to buy qs. Besides (maybe I should've put that in the guide), when you start the fight with shooting bullets you can press reload and use flame dash. Your champion will start reloading your weapon during flame dash so you basically get a free reload while dealing damage and running around. Hope this explains my thought process well.
