ATTENTION: This mod is still in development... Strider animations need to be added and several bugs fixed!!
(I'll have to delegate the work to any other modder with more knowledge than me).

If you have saved the game with this mod enabled, and there is a Tripod present, then you will have problems when loading the game without the mod enabled.
So you should save the game when the mod is not enabled, or simply disable the mod and load the map you were in from the console command. Search the internet for how to change maps from the console.

Hello community !! I saw this Addon in Garry's mod workshop: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1879981000, and I had the idea of ​​using it as a replacement for the Strider in Half-Life 2.
So I got to work and decompiled the model, edited the .qc with little knowledge about it, configured several things and after some errors and many failed attempts, I managed to make it work as a Strider.

Features:
+ Some of the Strider's sounds replaced by the Tripod from Steven Spielberg's movie, and from Half-Life: Alyx.
+ Destroying the Tripod with the Magnusson device leaves its parts split.

Issues:
- Original Strider animations missing. (I tried to incorporate them into this model, but had problems.)
- The legs don't quite land on the ground.
- The original footstep sounds of the Strider are missing, and I don't know why.
- The Tripod is immune to RPG, and the grenade launched by the SMG1. The bastard is made of titanium, it's too strong... human-made firearms tickle it. (Still, I'll try to fix this in future updates.)
BUT the Tripod's Achilles heel is the back leg.
You must hit the rocket right in the middle of the back leg for this titan to take damage.
- In the final map of Episodic, the Tripod doesn't move forward, and you can't continue the game.
- When the Tripod is only destroyed by the Magnusson device, its legs do not collide very well on the ground surface.

ALL THIS CAN BE FIXED, BUT IT WILL TAKE TIME AND ACQUIRING NEW KNOWLEDGE...

Hola comunidad !! Vi este Addon en la workshop de Garry´s mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1879981000, y tuve la idea de usarlo como reemplazo del Strider en Half-Life 2.
Así que ♥♥♥♥ manos a la obra y descompilé el model, edité el .qc con poco conocimiento al respecto, configuré varias cosas y luego de algunos errores y muchos intentos fallidos, logré hacerlo funcionar como Strider.

Características:
+ Algunos sonidos del Strider reemplazados por el Tripode de la película de Steven Spielberg, y de Half-Life: Alyx.
+ Al destruir al Tripode con el dispositivo Magnusson, quedan sus partes divididas.

Asuntos pendientes:
- Faltan animaciones originales del Strider. (Intenté incorporarlas a este model, pero obtuve problemas).
- Las patas no apoyan del todo bien sobre la superficie del suelo.
- No se escuchan los sonidos originales de las pisadas del Strider, y desconozco la causa.
- El Tripode es inmune al RPG, y la granada lanzada por el SMG1. El maldito está hecho de titanio , es demasiado fuerte... las armas de fuego de fabricación humana le hacen cosquillas. (Aún así, intentaré solucionar esto en futuras actualizaciones).
PERO el talón de Aquiles del Tripode, es la pierna posterior.
Debes impactar el cohete justo en la mitad de la pierna de atrás, para que reciba daño este titán.
- En el mapa final de Episodic, el Tripode no avanza, y no puedes continuar el juego.
- Cuando el Trípode es únicamente destruido por el dispositivo Magnusson, sus piernas no colisionan del todo bien en la superficie del suelo.

TODO ESTO SE PUEDE ARREGLAR, PERO LLEVARÁ TIEMPO Y ADQUIRIR NUEVOS CONOCIMIENTOS...

Si quieres la versión del Tripode con el haz de luz de la linterna, descarga "Tripod_replaces_Strider_flashlight_beam.zip", desde: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/17dExx4POvsyd8GQrCKPQR9XBpldiD2IJ descomprime y extrae el archivo "Tripod_replaces_Strider_flashlight_beam.vpk" en la carpeta personalizada de hl2: "..\Half-Life 2\hl2\custom\".

And yes, it is a pain to fix the hitboxes, I have not yet found the definitive solution, since the distribution of the bones of the Tripod differs from those of the Strider, and it seems that this affects how it behaves in which parts it can receive damage.
